1 Chapter 1

What would you do if you were given an offer from a stranger? A temping one? Life changing? Or would you hesitate?

"You've been fired from your 5th job already," sighed the male sitting across from me. Short light brown hair, it looked as though it was styled but I knew it wasn't. His sunlit eyes hidden behind a lens only to show a brown colour, light skin, that glows in the sun yet easily hurt by it...Conner. You could see his irritation seeping out.

"Fired? I quit, who wants a boring job anyways," I said as I lifted my feet onto the table. He knocked my feet off, slamming his hands on the table.

"It hasn't even been a week, you're not a child anymore," he said raising his voice slightly. I could hear the disappointment in his voice as he started to lose his patience.

"Oh come on, I'm 22, I want to have fun. Not be stuck at the same place all day," I complained as I rolled my eyes. I watched as the baking soda was poured in, his patience gone as anger erupted.

"Stop fucking around. Have you not learnt your lesson, you've already seen what acting like a child has brought you, so fucking grow up," he shouted, there was no thought behind them, no lie to conceal anything, just the truth. I clenched my jaw, my head wanting to droop like an abandoned puppy, but I looked him in the eyes instead. I was no animal, but my mouth was shut like one.

"Wow, what a show. Conner finally put you in your place, Tyler," chuckled a voice from behind me. There was no reason to turn, I knew who it was.

"What a great boyfriend you are, amused by your lover's anger," I scoffed. These words were not what I wanted to say. I wanted to say nothing and hide like a coward.

"You-"

"Killian, don't," muttered Conner. His eyes looking past me, avoiding any road that lead them to mine. "Find a job, before we meet again," Conner said as he turned, walking away.

"Still a screw up," laughed Killian as he slammed his hand on the table before running after Conner like a dog towards their owner. His hand had left behind a flier, a heavy sigh escaped my mouth as I picked it up.

"XX street,Whatever time

Don't screw it up"

'This fucker', I crunched the paper in my hand as I got up. I had two options yet only one choice, a soft sigh escaped my mouth as I began walking. My steps were slow. They had no will to disobey, but their thoughts were said loud and clear.

I looked up at the building in front of me, a bar. I still wasn't sure whether I should or not, I'm only doing it to please him. I stood at the door as I played all the scenarios in my mind.

It didn't last long, no solution was discovered. I was just forcefully pulled back to reality as the door in front of me rattled, a man standing behind it as it opened. His mouthed opened but I could hear no words. My ears blocked out the sounds as my eyes admired what was in front of me. His hair which looked as though it was snow, his eyes the gleaming lake that was frozen over and his skin the snowflakes that kissed the snow. My eyes were glued on him as my mouth muttered, "I want the job."
