The Island

With the darkness upon him Shawn stares heavily into the dark corner where he swears he sees something. He stands up and walks over to it very slowly. When he reaches only 3 yards away, the being grabs at his ankle taking him to the ground. He scurries away just fast enough before the being can devour him. He didn't get a good look at the being, but he got one that was good enough for him to stay away from that corner.

4 Days Earlier:

Shawn begins to walk down the road, thoughts rushing through his head. "What should I do?", "Should I Leave?", "Should I Finish My Assignment?". Those are the thoughts of thought. Shawn was here for an assignment. This is by far the scariest assignment he has had by a large margin. Shawn works for an agency called N.A.D, National Association of Discovery. Shawn has had almost 8 other assignments while he has been working for N.A.D. He usually gets about 1-2 assignments per year. Shawn has been working for N.A.D for about 6 years. When you are shipped to do your assignment, you could be there for weeks, months, or sometimes even years. What N.A.D does is, they send workers/discoverers to remote locations where there are signs of unusual life forms. Shawn was lucky enough to go here, St. Babbos Island. St. Babbos Island is located right off of the coast of Florida.

The beings at St. Babbos Island are a mix between humans and scorpions. They are troubled beings. They have mass anger problems throughout the island. These beings are called SB, otherwise known as Slogical Beings. These beings don't have that big of an appetite. When you see them it feels like you are looking at a human skeleton with a scorpion's tail. It is in no way a good sight.

While Shawn is on St. Babbos Island, he has to survive for himself living off of the tiny plants and animals that live on the island. The island's climate is that of central Florida. Generally warm and sometimes a little chilly. Shawn packed a coat just in case the worst comes upon him. He also packed a tent, a pot, and some emergency food bars.

With his assignment being so boring, Shawn needed some company. But with little to no reception, Shawn couldn't just call the main office of N.A.D and request a companion or two to come out on the island with him. Instead Shawn opened the group's private Facebook group chat and wrote the message, "Hey, long time no communication. It's getting pretty boring out here and I was wondering if you could send someone else out here with me. Thanks, Shawn.". The message took 26 minutes to send.

St. Babbos Island is what it is because of an experiment that was held here by the United States government. They bought the island from Spain and gathered a group of mentally ill patients from the Florida state hospital. Shawn is very frustrated that the United States government would damage and experiment on mentally ill human beings. I guess he has to deal with it and uncover the truth about our government.

After about 3 hours, Shawn got a message back in the group chat. It was from the main leader from the association, Johnathan. Johnathan wasn't an easy-going person and you had to really push him to get what you want most of the time. But this time, he was all for it. He told Shawn that he would be sending out a junior discoverer. Shawn wasn't so happy but he thought "What the hell, a human is a human and communication is communication.".
