No Way Out
"Wow!" Adrien says as Lucien opens the doors to reveal luxurious palm trees and rare island flowers with a waterfall irrigation system.
"Its so beautiful!"
"Please, this way." Lucien says as he leads her to a table with tea and cookies.
Adrien snickers to herself. "Are we having a secret tea party?"
"You could say that."
They both sit down at the table. Adrien takes a cookie off the rack and looks around the greenhouse.
"I wish we had something like this back home. Speaking of which, when am I going back to the mainland? Your Island is very beautiful, but I can't stay."
Lucien puts down his tea and folds his hands. "Adrien. How much do you know about this Island and the LOST gene?"
"Um? I know that its an Island with a lot of males who have strange abilities, other than that, I don't know much."
"Do you know how you came to this Island?" He asks her.
" I think I was grabbed off the street, the rest is a blur, but its a mistake, I'm not supposed to be here. Am I?"
"Adrien. Years ago the government made this Island especially for people like us, in short for people who possess special abilities. People like you. If we were ever to return to the mainland, we would be deemed dangerous, and be killed on sight. That's why the government created this place, so we could live in peace and not harm anyone."
"That's why none of us EVER leave the Island."
"No one ever leaves? But what does that have to do with m- wait you not saying I."
Adrien gets up from her chair and starts walking backwards. "I-I don't have an ability, I'm not like the rest of you."
She starts hyperventilating.
Lucien gets up from his chair and walks towards her. "Adrien, you need to calm down."
"Stay away from me!" She shouts.
She runs from the table and tries to find the way out.
"You people are NUTS! I'm NOT staying here!" She yells while tripping over the rocks.
She slides across the floor and sees the door they entered from. She dashes straight for it but is stopped by a giant wolf.
"AAAAHHHHH!" She scream and falls on her back.
"ALYONA! STOP!" Lucien yells from across the room. Lucien runs up to Adrien and lifts her off the floor.
"W-What is going on?!"
"Adrien, this is Alyona my danger beast."
"Your danger beast? How is this possible?" She asks while hanging on the back of his shirt.
"This is part of my ability, I'm able to summon danger beast, and in this case I summoned Alyona my most powerful ally." He says as he rubs the back of her neck.
"This is crazy. Are you saying that I can do stuff like this?"
"Everyone's ability differs, not everyone has the same exact power." Lucien explains.
Adrien collapses to the floor and exhales.
Lucien runs to her side and places a hand on her back. "Adrien are you alright?"
She starts sobbing uncontrollably, 'Why is this happening to me? Why!?' she thinks to herself as aura starts forming out of her hands.
Lucien takes her hands and holds them together. "You know, there are a lot of young men who understand what you feel, forced to be quarantined on an Island, never being able to return home."
Adrien wipes her face. "What am I gonna do? You can fix what's wrong with me, right!?"
"I'm afraid we can't, Your ability is part of your DNA."
Alyona shifts from her gigantic form into a tiny little fox that can fit in your palm.
She hops on Adrien's shoulder and licks the tears off her face.
Adrien giggles. "That's disgusting, but thanks for making me feel better Alyona."
"Come on, I think you've spent enough time crying." Lucien says
They both return back the their table.
...
"I'll never see her again?" Kasai repeats to himself.
He grits his teeth even more and shakes the bed violently. "No way! NO WAY!! Get me OUT OF THIS ROOM!"
Jiro opens the door and enters.
"Would you CUT IT OUT! Yeesh! Your worse than Nanaji."
"When are you gonna stop acting like a baby!?"
Kasai glares at him, "I'll stop acting like a baby when you guys let me see Adrie-"
He covers his mouth with his hand and turns his face away embarrassed. "I mean, when you guys let me out of here!"
"Mmm-hmm, well, i'm sorry, but your not getting out until your ready to comply."
"Fine, If that's what it take then I'll comply! I'll answer all your stupid questions! I'll take responsibility for my actions, I'll even apologize to General douche! Just let me see Adrien!"
Jiro stands there with his mouth hanging open and his eyes about to pop out of his sockets.
"What!? I said I'd comply!" Kasai yells at him.
"I heard you the first time." He says as he walks towards him and pats him on the head.
"Good for you, your no longer the stubborn little brat I always thought you were!"
"Would you stop that! Where's Kat? I wanna talk to her first!"
"Didn't Lucien tell you that she's been suspended until further notice, so technically since she's not an officer at the moment, she can't come down here or talk to you."
Kasai leans back in his hospital bed. "This is all my fault."
"That might be the most logical thing you've said since you've been here." Jiro says as he smirks at him.
He turns around and starts to exit the room.
"Wait!"
Jiro turns around abruptly.
"Will you tell her I'm sorry?"
"Who, Katalina or Adrien?"
Kasai sighs and looks down at his hands.
"Both."
Jiro smiles at him and leaves the room.
Kasai sits there by himself pondering in his mind. 'Why do I feel so misreable?'
