Chapter 26: Answers
“Define immortal,” Kumotsuki said.
“Don’t play games with me,” Zenobi said, annoyed. “You promised you would answer questions either honestly or by saying that you do not want to answer it. We both did!”
“I am not playing games.” Kumotsuki said flatly. “You need to be more specific. There are many versions of immortality and depending on which one you ask; my answer may be different.”
Zenobi’s eyes widened at his statement. There was no doubt now he definitely knew of other planes of existence, otherwise he could not make such a bold claim.
“Well, that answers at least part of my question. You have at minimum discovered spiritual immortality. Which, while rare among humans, especially in your modern era, is not unheard of. It is quite a feat.” Zenobi said, contemplating what it meant.
“Have you reached full spiritual enlightenment like that of the Buddha?” Zenobi asked, pretty sure of the answer.
