Chapter 1: Just the beginning

Hello. My name is Raven. My birth name was Rose. I want to tell you my story about how everything changed when I was only 3 years old. Since I was born me and my family mom, dad, and big brother were just like any ordinary family. Then when I became a year old, I started having symptoms of becoming something else. I had symptoms of becoming a werewolf at the time. Although dragons are similar at the beginning as well. Anyways let's get on with the story. We have been being chased since then. We were on the run for 2 years. I was now 3. They decided to change my name to Raven after they were tired of running. They even changed my hair color and style. My brother Jason had to help keep me disguised no matter what. Then we got on a ship and were thinking of going somewhere we might be safe. Then there was a storm. The ship we were one broke to pieces. We assumed mom and dad didn't make it. My brother helped me on a piece of heavy wood from the boat, then he got on. We both fell asleep no even thinking we would make it at all. Then After a few hours, we woke up and found we were on shore.

"Hey Raven wake up. We made it on land." "Big brother?" "Its going to be ok little sister. We will hopefully make it. I will protect you even if it costs me my life." I clung onto my brother, he picked me up and we walked through a forest.

As we were walking, I remember seeing a girl and a boy. They saw us and stopped. The girl and boy got off their horse and slowly came near us. The girl said, "Hello there. Are you two lost?" I ran back behind my brother scared. Then my brother said, "I'm Jason. We were in a shipwreck. I don't know if anyone else survived. Its just us." "Ok well why don't you come with us. I'm sure mom and dad can do something to help you two out." I peeked out behind my brother and saw her sweet face and I smiled. "Oh you are so cute." "Her name is Raven." "Oh that's a lovely name. Ok Raven. Do you and your brother want to ride with me?" "Yes we will take you on the offer." My brother is 5 years older than me. He is 8 years old at this time. She helped us on. Once she got we galloped away to a castle.

On our way to the castle, the girl introduced herself. "My name is Alora it means my dream. My younger brother's name is Ace." Then we galloped on.

When we got there, my brother was a little cautious at first. From the village we had to pass to get to the castle. He held me close. Once we finally got in the castle though, it didn't seem as bad. It felt friendly. "Ok I will stay with you. Ace? Can you get mom and dad? Tell them we have a couple of guests." "Yes sister."

We waited and I remember being scared. "Its ok little sister. I'm here for you. I won't let anyone hurt you. If they do, they will answer to me." I cried a little in my brother's arms. Finally, the grownups came. A woman came close to us. "Hello there, young ones. My name is Queen Talia. This is my husband King Justin." "Nice to meet you little one." For some reason I went up to the king and hugged him. Maybe he reminded me of dad or someone else. I don't know. My brother was shocked as well. The King hugged me back. He actually picked me up. "I have an Idea." Said the King. "What do you kids think of having a younger brother and sister?" Ace said "Cool." Alora said "I would love to have a little sister and brother. Hey dad? Can she stay in my room until she gets old enough?" "That is the plan Alora. Now let's get these kids cleaned up and fed. Then I am sure they are tired. You will be sharing a room with Ace. Don't worry his room is right next door to your sister's." My brother nodded. "Oh, we never heard your names." Said Talia. "Oh sorry. My name is Jason, and my little sister is Raven. When I get a chance, I need to tell you something about her." "OK let's get you cleaned up and fed, then we can talk." Said the King. "Yes, your majesty." I bowed. "Oh no need to that. Your family now." He nodded.

We had servants give us our baths, we got some nice clean clothes on and headed to the dining table. "Oh pretty." I said. "I know isn't it?" said Jason. So, we sat down in our seats and ate our food. We visited and got to know one another.

Once dinner was done, I said "King Justin?" "Oh, you can call me dad if you'd like or just Justin is fine." "Ok Justin. Can I speak with you now?" "Yes, come with me to my office." "Ok Raven. Go with the nice girl and get ready for bed. I will check on you soon ok?" "Bye Bye." "Bye Raven." So, he followed the king to his office.

"So you said there is something about your sister?" "Yes. We were shipwrecked is how we got here. We don't know who survived. We have been on the run since Raven was 1 year old. We were just happening to be on a way to a safe house when our ship wrecked. Ever since my sister was 1 year old, she has been having signs of becoming either a werewolf or dragon. In the beginning, they are the same. As the symptoms continue, we know more of what she may be. Is there a lab or somewhere nearby that can help her?" "I have heard of a little girl that was having symptoms. So, this is her?" "Yes sir. Can you help?" "Do you know what the lab was that she stayed at before? I need her chart to see what they have done so far." "Actually, you don't need it. I have the papers here. We put them in a bag so in case something like this did happen they would be safe." Jason gave him the papers and the King said, "Very well. There is a lab here. When would you like her to start?" "Let's give her two days to relax then I will talk to her."

Two days later, my brother came to talk to me. "Hello Raven." "Big brother." "Can I talk to her alone please? Thank you." So, we were alone together. "Big brother!" I gave him a big hug. "I love you too little sis. I have something to tell you." I sat quietly and waited. "Remember when you had to go to that place with a bunch on doctors that had to help you get well?" "Yes. It hurt." "I know. Its to keep you and others safe. You don't want to hurt anyone do you?" "No." "OK then. We are going to a new place to do the same thing. I'm sure I can be there just like last time. If I am not inside with you, I will be right at the window watching ok?" I nodded then started to cry again. "Its going to be ok sister. I know its going to hurt, but it has to happen." So, I followed someone to the lab and took her to start her tests.

After the first day of tests, I was tired. Jason helped me to my room and laid me down. "Ok little sis. I will stay here with you until you wake up ok?" I held my sister's hand and fell asleep in the chair I was sitting on.

"Hmm." Jason was starting to wake up. Raven was still asleep. Then a few minutes later, "Brother?" "Yes I'm here Raven. How you feeling?" "Tired." He helped me up and we spent time together outside for the rest of the day.

Days went on and on the same thing. On certain days our new brother and sister would play with us. When our new mom and dad weren't busy, they would play with us as well.
