Chapter 14: Training Time
The meeting in the throne room quickly ended after Aren's declaration. The soldiers went back to their posts and our group left with a goal in mind.
I am ready to continue my training but of course, it's not that easy. Waiting for us outside the main chamber was a surprise. A surprise that caused Smokey to run behind me.
"Olivia." I said coldly
"Maria." She said with as much frigidness as me.
We stare each other down. Hatred for what she did to Smokey smolders under the surface. But I keep the bile down. There are more important things to do.
I tell everyone that I'll catch up with them later. It took some convincing, especially for Sara, but they agreed to let me do this alone. When they left, I struck the first verbal blow.
"I expected to see you among the people who hated me."
"Sorry to disappoint you but I don't hate you Maria."
"Yeah, you need to explain that to me."
She sighs and starts muttering something.
"Huh, what's that? I can't hear you."
