Special Ability Introspection, New Discoveries

Di Tian cautiously began by splitting a strand of his consciousness to make contact with the Grand Primordial Helix.

But as soon as he did so, a burst of arcane energy swept out from the luminous Helix and wrecked his entire mind space. At the same time, Di Tian's physical body involuntarily shook as he experienced severe muscle spasms.

Under normal circumstances, this level of annihilative energy should turn anyone else into a mindless idiot permanently. But strangely enough, Di Tian's Sea of Consciousness constantly regenerated amid the destruction.

In a short while, Di Tian opened his eyes. Only the traumatized panic in his eyes and the cold sweat on his skin betrayed the fact that he was in mortal danger just a few short seconds ago.

"Hell, I almost got myself killed just now," Di Tian sucked in a breath of cold breath as he recalled the excruciating pain.

But that aside, he felt it was a bit odd. His Sea of Consciousness was back to normal like nothing had happened. However, as Di Tian observed the Grand Primordial Helix, he sensed a subtle warning aura emanating from it.

"I don't think I should recklessly mess with the Helix for now," he thought to himself. It was rather unfortunate that his exploration plans ended before he could even begin.

But at least, he confirmed the nature of the Sea of Consciousness. Di Tian now realized that the core ability of his Mind Space was Regeneration.

Yes, it turned out that while Di Tian's physical body was capable of regeneration in the form of accelerated healing, his Sea of Consciousness also possessed a similar feature, although it didn't have as much limitations.

For one, Di Tian's physical body needed to absorb a tremendous amount of energy for synthesizing vital force to rapidly recover from damage. On the other hand, his Sea of Consciousness was intrinsically integrated with the Grand Primordial Helix, so it was capable of spontaneous regeneration on its own without the need for an external energy source.

"The full potential of my physical body's talent is insane though. I might be capable of regenerating my entire body from very minute body matter like cells in the future," Di Tian analyzed. "But for now, it's just limited to healing and heavily dependent on energy."

Di Tian cautiously tried a few more experiments, testing the functions of his mind splitting and territorial radar.

"Technically, my core consciousness is separated into three portions, each functioning in different default modes," Di Tian noted. "Two of these parts exist passively; one as the Omnipresent Consciousness Mode in my Mind Space and the other controlling my external radar function. The last one is my active consciousness."

Di Tian also discovered that his Omnipresent Consciousness, basically his subconscious, was capable of splitting into incarnate strands by itself.

One additional discovery Di Tian made was that he was capable of minimizing his active consciousness to boost the function of his radar function. This meant that by withdrawing his consciousness from his active physical senses, he could double the radius of his external sensory radar. All these abilities were intrinsically integrated with the regenerative feature of his mind.

Di Tian was pretty satisfied with the results. He felt that his special abilities might not exactly be cream of the crop, but their practical effects gave him a near-immortal status as far as he was concerned.

That done, Di Tian began to analyze his circumstances.

There was a lot he was in the dark about. The true identity of that first cultivator he had assumed to be an 'alien' earlier, the origins of the Primordial Chaos Spirit Seed, the significance of the Grand Primordial Helix in his Sea of Consciousness, the Universal Council, Fang Ao's true intentions....the list went on and on.

To the present Di Tian, the most pressing matter was, what actually happened to the 'alien' that set the destruction mechanism on the Spirit Seed in a bid to escape?

Did he do so successfully? Was he still hiding on the planet? Or reincarnated? For all Di Tian knew, the true source of the special abilities of Earthlings was the mysterious Spirit Seed. It would be so easy for the unknown cultivator, if alive, to pretend to be an Earthlings with special abilities too and use the opportunity to gain a legit identity for himself.

But Di Tian knew deep down that this particular mystery was beyond his capabilities at the moment. Only when he possessed enough strength would be qualified to pursue answers.

As for Fang Ao, Di Tian still wasn't sure about the intention of the cultivator, especially with the former secretly teaching him the meditative tea ceremony.

"Thanks to it and that cup of tea too, I'm almost done with Heart Refinement," Di Tian felt this gave him an extra advantage in the upcoming tournament. "What I need to do right now is find resources I can consume to complete the process."

Di Tian didn't think that Earth had high-grade cultivation resources. it shouldn't be totally impossible to find some low-grade ones that could aid Body Tempering.

Afterall, the arcane energy explosion did not just affect humans; other animals and even plants were also showing signs of mutation. No doubt, medicinal grasses on the planet like Ginseng and Holy Basil would have their effects enhanced multifold.

In this regard, a major problem would be ascertaining if they were safe for human consumption or not. But Di Tian felt that the combination of the meditative tea ceremony with his accelerated healing could work hand in hand to offset any potential hazard.

"Hell, this might count as a potential sub-ability," Di Tian chuckled to himself. "Reckless Energy Resource Consumption, hehe."

Technically, the more explosive energy contained within the medicinal grasses, the better it was for him. It would doubly serve as an energy source to repair the damage it caused, basically a self-preserving mechanism.

At this point, Di Tian's laptop made a notification sound and the screen brightened to display the social media page he was on earlier.
