Run

Both Noir and Raven displayed puzzled expressions; eventually, Raven questioned, "Run? Where and why?"

"We've got three options: the first is to fight, the second is to endure a beating, and lastly, we run. I don't fancy getting beaten by those thugs, not today. Let's just bolt for somewhere crowded. I believe they won't act recklessly," I hurriedly explained as I sensed them closing in.

As they closed near us, I shouted, "Flip the table!" Following my order, Noir flipped the table toward Jack and his three lackeys, blinding and pausing them for a few precious seconds.

Jack and his lackeys were caught off guard as the table came flying toward them. They hastily shielded themselves, and although the table didn't inflict any physical harm, it wounded their pride. Their clothes were now disheveled, and the remnants of the disrupted meal clung to their bodies.

Seizing the opportunity, I snatched a discarded bottle of drink from the floor and urgently signaled both Noir and Raven to run. "We need to move now!"

"You three are done!" Jack bellowed as he wiped off the dust and food remnants from his body. Soon, he sensed Adam and his friend making a hasty escape. "Agrrr! Catch those bastards!" he growled as his werewolf characters appeared.

"B..boss," one of the lackeys stuttered with fear and hesitation. "If you transform, we could be in deep trouble."

Jack fixed a cold, threatening gaze on him with his deep, golden, glowing eyes. "Don't tell me what to do!" he declared, sending a chill through the trio.

"Sorry, boss!" The lackey apologized, bowing his head in fear.

"Don't just stand here, hunt them!" Jack ordered them as they began to run toward the Adam group.

This event attracted many people in the hall; however, none of them seemed to interfere with it. They all watched this show with amusement, and many insulting remarks about Jack seemed to fuel his rage even more.

As we dashed toward the exit and away from the approaching threat, Noir inquired, "Where are we running?"

I replied, "I don't know, just run anywhere, away from them."

Both Raven and Noir wore dumbfounded expressions. "Huh?"

"Listen, it's not about being a coward; it's about staying safe. It's called a strategic retreat since we can't fight them right now," I explained. 'Yes, we aren't cowards, but we're just running because we don't want to fight,' I thought internally.

Raven, catching on to my idea, said, "He's right. We need a plan, not a confrontation."

As we exited the hall, "Okay, I understand," Noir said, "but where..." Before he could complete his sentence, a howl interrupted him. I turned around and saw Jack and his three lackeys rushing toward us.

'Damn it, they are already catching up,' I cursed internally.

"Now listen, let's split up, and secondly, run at full speed. Don't worry about me, okay?" I shouted.

"But..." Raven said, feeling unwilling to leave me behind.

"No buts. If we run together, there will be a greater chance of all of us getting caught. Also, don't worry about me; I have a plan, so run!" I said as I tightened the grip on the drink bottle, sensing them as they were closing in.

Soon both of them increased their speed, running in different directions.

Seeing Raven and Noir increasing their speed and splitting, Jack ordered his lackeys, "Ken! Grab that stinky yellow-head bastard, and as for that inferior beast, Max and Brian, go and catch him, while I and Caleb hunt down that little crow."

"Ha..ha..ha!" I panted. 'Damn it, I hate running.' Soon, my sixth sense heightened, warning me to duck. Without any hesitation, I listened to my instincts.

Claws sliced through the air, leaving a small mark on the wall. Seeing the mark scared the shit out of me. 'This mf is trying to kill me.'

"Haha, you are too slow and weak, but aren't you lucky to dodge it? But not for the next one," said Jack's lackey, whose name seemed to be Ken.

"Can't we talk like mature gentlemen?" I said, trying to avoid violence.

"Talk? Sure, but after you pay the price of insult with your life," Ken said as he prepared to attack again.

Before he could attack me with his claw, I hurriedly squeezed the drink bottle, aiming for his eye.

"Ahhh! My eye, you bastard, I will kill you," Ken shouted as he grabbed his eye. Blinding his sight gave me enough space to run.

"Sorry, but let's play this catch-and-catch game next time. Bye," I teased him as I ran away.

'Phew, I am safe now, thank God.' I sighed in relief; however, it was still too early for it.

"Agrrrrr!" a growl from Ken resounds through the corridor as he rushes toward me. "You think you can run away from me! I am gonna tear you apart" he shouted in rage burning in his red eyes

'What the hell!? Oh man, can't you leave me alone? Well, that leaves me with my last plan.' I thought of my last plan as I started rushing toward the upper hall or the high-ranking cafeteria.

Seeing me dashing toward the upper hall, Ken's face turned pale white. He shouted, "You..! Are you crazy?"

"Haha," I laughed as I replied, "as a matter of fact, I am."

Ken increased his speed to catch me up before I entered the upper hall boundary.

Notice Ken's increase in speed. Adam cursed himself as he boosted his speed to the max and also used his ability to heal at the same time, knowing that if he overused it, he would lose his conscience again.

However, it was all useless, as Ken nearly caught up to Adam as he was about to attack Adam back with his claw. Someone appeared out of nowhere, as if God had heard Adam pray, and grabbed Ken's hand.

"What's with this all fuss, and what are you doing here!?" a familiar, cold female voice asked both of us.
