7 Chapter 7: Storm Born

Dragonstone

The atmosphere on Dragonstone was palpable, as the days passed and the men garrisoned on Dragonstone were getting more nervous each day.

They could see Kings Landing from Dragonstone, so they could see the rebel army getting ready to assault the island. They weren't just doing so to get the Targaryens, they had to take the island or else Kings Landing would lose a lot of gold in trade.

Although Dragonstone wasn't very valuable physically, it couldn't grow crops or support livestock in any way, the only food available were fish from Blackwater Bay. What made the volcanic island valuable was its location in the bay.

From the island they could stop ships from Essos or anywhere else from entering port in Kings Landing. It wouldn't stop food from being sent to Kings Landing, considering it could be just be brought in by land, but it would still strangle the economy.

Jaime was getting uncomfortable on the island and knew they needed to leave, while Ser Willem Darry himself wished to engage the enemy fleet and crush them. Even though the Targaryen fleets ships were older, its sailors were some of the most experienced.

Rhaella was beginning to show signs that her baby would be born soon. Elia had pulled both Jaime and Rhaella aside one night and had told them the truth of Aiden's origins. She told them she had lied and used her Uncle to hide the fact that he didn't really come from here.

Lewin Martell, though not officially, did maintain a relationship with his paramour even after taking his vows, and his fellow Kingsguard didn't say anything.

So she knew if she used him he wouldn't get in trouble since he wouldn't be actually fathering the boy, plus the other guards would accept a bastard of a Kingsguard over even a noble one.

This news shocked Jaime while Rhaella wasn't that surprised, it did stun her to actually get confirmation since she had known that Aiden was special, but she never would've guessed he came from the stars.

She told both what had happened that day in her room with the Mountain, how Aiden saved her and her children, which Jaime added to Elia's thoughts by telling them what Gregor and Armory were known for.

Although Elia knew that they would've killed her, when Jaime actually spoke of the past deeds of both men, a shudder ran down both womens spines. They knew that Aegon would've been the only one to die quickly, while Elia and Rhaenys would've suffered greatly before death took them.

Even now, they weren't out of danger, it was known that Robert wanted Elia. Not to wed or marry, but in Robert's mind Rhaegar had raped and murdered his Lyanna so he wanted to do it to Rhaegar's woman.

He wanted to not just kill the dragon, he wanted to humiliate it first before burying it in the ground.

The rebels in Kings Landing had been sending small ships to get close enough to shout messages to the men on the walls of Dragonstone, offering them amnesty and a royal pardon if they turned over all the Targaryens.

This was making both Willem and Jaime very nervous, they knew that if they lost any manpower, that being betrayed by the men garrisoned on Dragonstone was a very real possibility.

Unfortunately for both men, their worse fears became a reality. The night that Rhaella went into labor a very large storm rolled in. The storm was violent, not just having tons of water falling from the sky, the winds howled and churned the waters of the bay and sea violently.

Ships had to raise their anchors due to quite a few had sunk due to the waves which dragged anchored ships to the bottom of the sea near the island.

This however didn't help, the storm toppled ships and even drove them into each other causing damage and even sinking quite a few of the older ships.

Inside the castle of Dragonstone, Rhaella was screaming in pain, she was finally giving birth to her and Aerys final child. Although she was pale, unlike when she had first arrived on the island, she was much healthier and stronger than before. Aiden's presence not only healed her body, but also her mind.

She had thought all her family was dead, so when she was able to see Elia and the children alive and well it lifted her spirits quite a lot. The labor was long but successful, Rhaella had given birth to a baby girl, and survived due to her body being stronger than it was previously.

Rhaella named her Daenerys Stormborn Targaryen, after the storm that had raged during her birth.

The family welcomed one addition to their fallen house, but the happiness was very short lived. By that morning they had realized that more than half of their fleet was destroyed during the storm.

Both Jaime and Willem knew this was the worst possible outcome, Jaime wasn't as worried as Willem only because he knew Aiden's abilities, but that didn't make things any easier.

Elia and Rhaella both refused to ask Aiden to become a weapon for them, it was something Jaime had let slip during their small meeting about Aiden. He knew Aiden alone could crush the rebellion, which was a scary thought.

A small child could wipe out armies with a look alone, the red laser that came from his eyes could cut thru even armor like it was flesh rather than metal. Both Elia and Jaime had seen him do it.

Elia and Rhaella didn't want Aiden to change, they knew if they asked him to kill all the rebels it would change him into something they didn't want to see.

But now they were in a very bad position, especially once the rebels sent out their yeller to try to get the men to surrender, the effects on the garrisoned men would be tenfold what it was before.

Now they had less than ten thousand men, so they would lose should the rebel army invade the small island. This caused many of the garrisoned men to begin to hold secret discussions with each other on what they should do.

Many of them wanted to turn the children over, but keep the Queen and Princess for themselves. Not only could they enjoy both beauties but both would sell for very high prices in Lys or Myr once they had their fun. Although Rhaella was older she was still a very beautiful woman, as was Elia.

Although these meetings were held in secret and behing closed doors, Aiden heard their discussions as he played with his new baby aunt.

Both Rhaella and Elia noticed the change that happened in Aiden's expression.

"What is it Aiden? What's wrong?" Rhaella asked worriedly.

"We have to go. Uncle Jaime!" Aiden shouted and started to run towards the door which was opened quickly and Jaime's blond head poked into the room after he heard his name being called.

"Whats up little guy?" Jaime said with a smile which faded once he saw the expression on Aidens face. It was full of worry and anger.

"The men are planning to do bad things. They are talking about giving us to the new king while taking mom and grandma to do very bad things, then sell them as something they called bed slaves. What is that? Do they just make beds?" Aiden asked since he had no clue what that term meant, he knew what slaves were but that particular term he didn't.

Jaime upon hearing that grew stern, "Are you sure? Nevermind don't answer that, when your older I will tell you what that is, stay here and protect your mother and grandmother, ok?"

Aiden nodded his head and took Jaime's spot outside the door as if he was a Kingsguard himself.

Poking his head into the door as Jaime had just done Aiden looked to Elia and Rhaella who had scared looks and said, "Don't worry I got the door."

After that he shut the door and stood in front to guard it, Elia and Rhaella couldn't help but smile at how cute Aiden was acting, but instinctually they both grabbed their babies to make sure they were safe.

"Hmph, we should give them that bastard and escape." Viserys commented which earned him a slap from Rhaella.

"Don't you talk about your nephew like that again." Rhaella sternly said.

"He isn't a dragon! He is a snake just like those other two. I am the dragon and king, it's his duty to die so that I can escape. I would've returned and gotten revenge for him." Viserys said as he rubbed his face as tears began form form.

Viserys and Aiden were not friendly with one another, Aiden mainly ignored him which irritated Viserys like nothing else. Rhaella had been doing her best to correct Viserys attitude since leaving Kings Landing.

However, unknown to them the Raven had already triggered the madness in Viserys a while ago. It was part of his master plan, it was the only way that the rest of the kingdoms would turn on the dragon. If they didn't know Viserys had the madness, it was possible houses like Tyrell and Hightower and others would remain loyal to the Targaryens.

The Three Eyed Raven, much like Rhaegar, believed he was the Prince who was Promised. Unlike Rhaegar however, Brynden Rivers was a product of both Ice and Fire himself. His father a Targaryen and his mother came from an ancient noble northern house. He had the blood of the dragon and First men running through his veins.

Being able to see the past and future allowed him to move the world in the direction that best suited himself, he was able to do this while hidden from all.

Being distracted due to success, the Raven was unaware that the future he witnessed before had already began to change, right now it was small things, too minuscule to detect unless you looked further.

It's like sailing without a compass, even if you knew something was directly East of you a hundred miles away, without a compass to know that you are going straight east, if you were off by a single degree, by the time you reached there your destination could be off by miles north or south of the target.

Time was the same way, unless the change was major, small changes would be hard to detect unless you looked years into the future to see the full extent.

The changes caused by Aiden's presence was just too small for the Raven to know about him completely, the Raven knew about Aiden but thought he was a bastard like himself. The Raven had a small soft spot for bastards since he went thru much the same treatment as Jon Snow and many other bastards.

All of this was about to change however, and the Raven would soon find out that his well laid plans weren't as sturdy as he had thought. While Jaime went to go find Willem Darry to escape the island, when he found him, he had a letter that had just arrived from Sunspear.

So Willem and Jaime went back to where Queen Rhaella and Elia and the children were to discuss the news.

"We found Lyanna, she is in the Tower of Joy and will be giving birth soon. Lord Eddard Stark backed out of his promised engagement with Ashara Dayne and married Catelyn Tully in place of his dead brother Brandon and was last heard moving south into Dorne to look for Lyanna. The report says Lyanna is showing the beginning signs of bed fever." Ser Willem summarized the letter they received from Dorne.

Elia just sighed, she knew that Eddard and Ashara were in love, Ashara was one of her best friends. "Is Lyanna safe?" She asked.

"Aye, Rhaegar left the last three Kingsguard with her to protect her. Even if Lord Stark brought ten men, those three shouldn't have trouble fighting them off." Willem responded to Elia's question.

Rhaella was saddened since she knew that most likely Lyanna wasn't going to survive child birth if she was showing signs of bed fever.

Then Rhaella remembered that she was showing those same signs until Aiden had arrived, he healed her body which allowed her to survive giving birth to her daughter Daenerys.

"We have to get Aiden to the tower." Rhaella spoke out suddenly.

This comment confused Willem greatly, he didn't understand what a bastard child could do, especially since they had more pressing matters.

"My Queen, that is impossible. We don't have the ships and crew. These men are no longer loyal to you, I have four men who are still loyal to your house and we will need a ship to escape. We have to leave tonight, they won't attack till just before first light so we will need to be gone before then."

Elia couldn't help ask, "Why then and not tonight?"

Jaime answered for Willem, "Because of me. Just before first light is the best time to attack guards. They would be at their most relaxed around then. It would be close to the time for a guard change and they would be bored from all the inactivity from the rest of their shift."

Jaime then turned to Willem, "Go get a ship ready and have your men ready to leave an hour after sun down. I will handle the rest here."

After Willem left and Viserys sent to another room, the three came up with a plan to bring not only Lyanna and her baby together with them, but also the last remaining loyal Kingsguard.

With the four Kingsguard they would be able to have the best chance at survival in Essos or wherever they decided to settle down at. They knew they needed to buy time.

As Willem's men readied the fastest ship, Willem and Jaime had began to transfer the gold and treasures in the Vault of Dragonstone to the ship they would be escaping in.

This would ensure they had plenty of funds themselves to survive anywhere they deem necessary, while also putting Robert in a very bad spot financially since they would not be leaving him any of their stored gold and treasures.
