Feeding the Scythe

A strange aura came out of his two eyes as suddenly all the blood and the lizard's body gathered together as they quickly withered and were destroyed by the aura, and they quickly headed towards his right eye.

Jone felt a slight pain in his right eye as his eye refined the beast into an extremely pure energy that divided into his blood and his dantian.

This happened in just a few seconds, and Jone felt that the gray energy in his dantian had slightly increased.

"So this is how it goes, this is really weird, but it is much better than normal cultivation techniques".

"As long as I can kill monstrous beasts, I can increase my cultivation without worrying about bottlenecks." Jone was excited, as he thought that the speed of his cultivation would be many times faster than other people's.

He just didn't know yet that it wouldn't be that easy.

Jone continued his journey towards the city, the closer he got to the beast mount, the more monstrous beasts appeared in his path. Jone encountered a few beasts with low cultivation compared to the Qi Condensation realm.

He killed and devoured every monstrous beast he encountered as he headed towards the city.

Jone just used his scythe and his martial arts techniques to get used to the techniques, all the beasts died in just one hit of his scythe, so it wasn't much help to his training.

As he killed the beasts with the scythe, he saw why Deacon Xu called the scythe cursed, while using the scythe, it constantly tried to absorb any amount of blood from the slain beasts.

Jone let the scythe feed on a small amount of blood from each beast he killed and soon saw that one of the several silver markings had been restored slightly. It was barely noticeable, but with his eyes, it did not escape his vision.

Jone then tried to feed the scythe with his own blood and dropped a small drop of his blood onto the scythe, and then a glow came from the scythe as Jone felt a faint connection to the scythe.

He felt that he could feed the scythe his blood to strengthen itself for a short period, and when he did, the scythe glowed with an ominous purplish-red light.

The scythe became immensely stronger than normal with just a small amount of his blood, and Jone realized that the scythe was not strong enough to withstand much of his own blood.

"It seems that this scythe can evolve in some way, it probably absorbed the blood of its former owners, controlling them and driving them crazy. But it can't handle my blood, and that's why it wants to feed on these beasts to strengthen itself".

"You are similar to me; you are my weapon now; there will be no shortage of food for you."

Jone said looking at the scythe. Then his right eye glowed and sent a sinister aura towards the scythe, and soon Jone felt even more connected to it, as if it were a part of his body.

"Oh, for this eye of mine to find you worthy is truly special."

Afterward, Jone fed some blood to the scythe while devouring the rest to increase his cultivation.

After a few days, Jone stopped at a large tree while eating some fruit he found on the way.

"Trails of the Night Bird is a really good technique, I thought it would take a month to reach the city, but with its speed, I arrived a week earlier."

From the place where he was able to see a large wall that covered a city that was three times larger than the city at the foot of the mountain of the Demon Horn Sect. There were guards roaming the wall, all armed.

"Let's see what this city has to offer." Jone said after seeing some luxurious buildings that appeared a little above the walls.

Jone jumped from the tree and quickly fell to the ground with a loud noise. He ran with all the speed that the Trails of the Night Bird technique could achieve, and quickly arrived in the city.

Even at night, there were people leaving and entering the city constantly. At the entrance, there were many armed guards demanding a sum of money to enter the city. Jone quickly moved away from the entrance, and no guard stopped him.

"Sir, welcome to Serpent's Fang City." A guard spoke respectfully to Jone.

'Oh, they treated me differently.' Jone didn't care much and entered the city while many people looked at his back.

As the biggest city on the island, the guards had a different view than ordinary people. Jone might only be wearing a simple outfit, but those eyes and that natural arrogance were not from an ordinary young man.

Even though Jone was only in the 1° phase of the Qi Foundation realm, they felt a sense of danger radiating from Jone and thought he was a young master of some strength, as had happened other times before.
