Chapter 81: An Unexpected Discovery

A day passed since the last time.
I left my tent after a long night of meditation, yesterday was uneventful. I continued moving deeper into the Ice world. Even though it's been a few days since we came, I was moving forward since the second day, I'm astonished that I was still at the outer edge of the Ice world.
Truly speaking I'm really amazed by how big this forbidden domain was.
Thinking about it now, there was no something like this back in my time. There were not so many forbidden zones in my Era, at best there were few of them. However, nowadays things changed, the world itself changed.
"Awakening Era, New species: The mutant huh!" I mumbled while stroking my chin as I continued advancing deeper into the world of Ice.
In my time there was no mutant, the power classification that exists presently didn't exist either.
"Sigh! Back in my time instead of mutant, we have Cultivator. Everything changed, cultivator disappeared as though they have been erased. There are replaced by mutant with their own power classification different from ours. In my time we talked about Realm and now it's Tier. It's baffling how things could change so much because of some rock (asteroid)." I murmured.
Suddenly, I stopped moving because I thought about something that sends a chill down my spine, I thought about a possibility, no more than a possibility, I have a hunch that I'm right.
What I thought was the following: What if that purple asteroid that crashed in this world what intentionally done by someone? And that someone changed our current world in what it has become?
If these speculations are proven to be true, then it means that the person who did this is extremely strong more than am I.
There were other things that make me shudders just by imagining it. Why the purple stone (purple asteroid fragments) can help me heal while strengthening me in the process?
From what Snow had told me, after using the purple stone she became powerful, however when she was injured in battle against the other two Overlords of the Lost Forest, the purple stone did not react at all. Besides strengthening her and making it easier for her to cultivate faster, it has no other use.
However, my case was different. Previously, when I use the purple stone Snow gifted me, there was no rejection. The energy contained quickly entered my body, healing me, and strengthening it in the process. It was like it was meant for me. I felt strangely familiar with it. At that time I thought that it was my misconception, however now I'm sure it was not.
I may be wrong but I have the feeling that Ethernasia changes, the purple stone, all these things have something to do with me. As if something was helping, I'm sure of it. This unexpected discovery left a bad aftertaste in my mouth. I do not like to own someone, especially when the said person was unknown.
"Who are you? And what are your goals?" I asked, however, nobody answered me.
"Well, it has to be expected, if you answer me it would prove that I'm right. There is no way you will make things easier for me by answering when you are clearly planning not to show up." I said grumpily after seeing that nobody answered.
Then, I shook my head before I continued to move forward killing everything in my way.
Unbeknownst to me when I asked these questions, in an unknown place shrouded in darkness a voice say "Oh? It took long enough to start using your head. I hope you will use my gift wisely even though you're did not like to owe someone."
"I guess I shall start moving as well." The genderless voice added before vanishing.

In the depth of Kyle's soul was another soul, strangely this soul shares similar features with Kyle apart from the different eye color, Kyle has crimson eyes while this soul has black eyes.
Naturally, this another soul was Black (it's how Kyle named him). Black chuckled when he heard his other self questions. With the flick of his fingers, a black chair was created, this normal looking chair was emitted a powerful pressure, when Black sat on the black chair, the air around him changed. It was like an Overlord of the cosmos, a being that defied common sense, defied the universe Law itself.
Black crossed his legs while praising his other self "Not bad."
"Ah! To think your meddlesome habit has not changed until now. Trying to help me like always even though.. Forget it."
Black stopped talking and shook his head. He looked lonely when he was talking about that person.
"Let wait and see," Black says, after that he went silent.

Night fell.
The last radiance of the sun vanished underneath the horizon, only to be replaced by the darkness that enfolded the Ice world.
I was already inside my tent, like yesterday I sat on my bed in a lotus position. For me sleep is not a necessity, hence I like to meditate to cultivate, and also to calm my mood. Especially today after making that discovery.
"I wonder how the Empress is doing. Who knows maybe she is actually thinking about me." I sarcastically thought.
"Let's continue our meditation," I say before continuing my meditation.

Meanwhile, in another location, the Neon empire capital, Golden palace. Empress Lillie's Chamber.
Empress Lillie was dressed in a light black negligee. Even though she was past her half thirties, she still looks like she is in her early twenties, beautiful face, white skin that looks like jade, and a pair of extremely beautiful legs, there are long and slender. Overall, Empress Lillie is a beauty, an extremely beautiful woman.
However, currently, this beauty looks lonely. She seemed to be thinking about someone.
"Angel's where are you? I've tried to contact you several, but it seems like you're very far away, which makes you unreachable. I hope you will come back soon. I want to talk with you again." Empress Lillie mumbled absentmindedly.
Since the last time she encountered that black-haired young man who called himself Angel's (probably a fake name), Empress Lillie has been thinking about him. She didn't know why maybe because nobody showed interest in her as a woman since while or he was too charming.
Nevertheless, she did not dislike this feeling, that why she tried to contact via the earrings he gave her as a parting gift and also at the same as a means to contact him. However, it seems that he was out of capital, hence unreachable.
"Sigh! Let wait a few more days before recontacting him again, maybe until then he will be back." Empress Lillie mumbled before her expression changed from longing to vicious.
"Don't blame me, Leonardo, it's your fault that you are going to wear the green hat. This all for my son."
Empress Lillie's plan was simple, she's planning to seduce Angel's, securing his trust, his connections, even his assets (after her investigating Angel's, she was able to know how much he is worth, he possess a huge business) for her son. Everything is for her son and her revenge against her husband.
"Sorry Angel's, I'll be using you for myself and my son's sake. I'll use your connection to help me kill that bastard Kyle." She thought before falling asleep wearing a smile.
Ironically, the man she was planning to use was also thinking the same thing.
