Chapter 79: Side Story: An Abomination that should not exist

✒ This is a Flashback. It happened a few days prior to the start of the Mission.

Located fifty kilometers North of Luxon capital Lux, was a forest. This was not a big forest, however, the forest had a lot of beautiful trees. These trees were so beautiful trees and magical that a legend was born. It was said if you propose to a girl inside this forest where there was a special place, she will accept without a doubt and your couple would live happily from that day onwards.

The said special place was located in the depths of the forest. There was a waterfall not far from there. This special place was revolved around by trees, sounds of birds chirping rang out, and the fragrance of fragrant flowers drifted around the air. This place was a pretty good secluded paradise. There were a lot of flowers there, however the flower that dominated the other the most was a white rose.

Hence, people named this forest the White rose Forest.

However, like a flower that would without wither one day, the White Rose Forest became a dead forest one day out of blue, most of the trees became dead. Nobody knows what happened, what caused this situation. However, there was one thing everybody knows, it was that the White Rose forest had become a forbidden zone, where nobody could go inside it, not even to investigate what happened due to the presence of a powerful barrier. Who deployed it, nobody knows. It was and still remains a mystery so far.

Thousand years passed since the White Rose had become a forbidden zone.

Nowadays,

In the depth of White Rose Forest, in the core region, there was a man sitting on a mat. Black haired middle-aged man. He sat on lotus position, he seemed to be in meditation, he must have been sitting there for a long time judging by the amount of dust pilled up on his clothes.

Everything around this man was dead, there was no life around him. No trees, nothing, as if the man's presence refused the presence of any living organisms, even the earth around him was dead, black in color.

Suddenly, the Black-haired middle-aged man opened his eyes, there were black in color, his eyes were like a bottomless abyss that could suck your soul in if you look too much.

''Welcome to you, unexpected guest. I didn't expect anyone to visit me, hence I can not properly receive you. I hope you won't blame me too much for my inhospitality. Still, even though there is nothing here, please make yourself home.'' The black-haired middle-aged man opened his mouth and spoke, gesturing to his unexpected visitor to sit on the black chair that he had just created.

Space around vibrates before being split in two and from the other side, a silhouette could be seen walking out. It was a young man, he had black hair and beautiful eyes, they were crimson in color, a rarely seen pair of eye.

Naturally, the newly arrived young man was Kyle.

Kyle sat on the black chair comfortably before crossing his legs. He looked at the man in front of him and smiled.

''Kratos, how are you progress on the Death Law?" Kyle raised a question out of blue. If one doesn't know their past relationship, you may have mistaken them to be friends.

Kratos let out a sigh and said ''Same as ever, acting as though we were equal.''

He was clearly displeased by the way Kyle talked to him even after he offered him a chair.

''Equal you ask?'' Kyle asked with the corner of his mouth lifted upward, he then sneered before added mockingly.

''Certainly, Equal we are not. I'm more powerful than you are. Even though, you stayed still for a thousand, meditating on your Law: The Death Law. I bet that you have not made any significant progress judging by your aura, even though you tried to perfectly hide it. Who knows, maybe my progress on the Death Law has outclassed yours. Same for others. Truly pathetic I do say.''

Krato's expression turned sour, he almost exploded of rage, still, he knew that it was Kyle's intension since the start, he was planning to infuriate him so much that he would lose his self-control.

Therefore, he quickly cooled down all his raging emotions, put on a poker face, and asked ''What brought you here? I'm sure that you did not come all the way here to mock me. Am I wrong?"

Even though, Kratos appeared calm on the outside, inside he was boiling, inwardly cursing Kyle inside. 'Damn, monster, to think you could be able to manipulate all our laws after being resurrected. Damn it, All of this happened because those two bastards, truly pathetic.'

Kratos even cursed Lumis and Grimm, it was their fault if Kyle has become this powerful.

One must know that after Emea used the stolen box containing the blood essence of the seven to perform the resurrection spell on Kyle, something incredible happened. After he was brought back from the dead, Kyle became able to use the laws Emea and the other six could use. Even though he could not perfectly use them, Kyle could use them to some extent, even better than some of them.

Kyle was a monster even without his racial characteristics.

After mumbling to himself 'Kratos, you're a no fun at all.' Kyle decided to go straight to the point.

''You're right. I paid you a visit today because I would like to inform you that Lumis and Grimm will probably try to kidnap my new woman in the incoming mission. Emea and Nui will intercept them, however I want you to go and talked some sense in them. What they are pursuing is an impossible goal. I'll kill them with everything I got if they choose to continue creating problems. I did not make a move myself, simply because Emea forbade me to act while I'm still studying. Talk to them, you've been warned.'' warned Kyle.

Kratos rubbed his forehead feeling a headache coming due to what Lumis and Grimm were planning. 'Still, I need to talk to them, he is not wrong.' Kratos thought.

Suddenly, Krato's eyes turned fierce as he says ''Wait a minute, new woman? You're pursuing other women even though you already have Emea? How dar..''

"Oi, stop it will you? Spare me from your rants. Whatever, if I have a lot of women or not, is not your damn problem. It's mine and Emea's problem. So, shut up." Kyle says, stopping Kratos from criticizing him.

"You're perfectly right. My bad, I got a little emotional." Kratos replies.

"I'm off then," Kyle announced after he stood, planning to leave.

"Do not act too arrogant, full of yourself, thinking that you're the strongest," Kratos warned.

Kyle stopped moving and released a powerful pressure due to anger, the space in the forest became distorted.

Kratos gulped thinking that this pressure was no way inferior to Emea's fiancé, the Dragon Prince, Arthur pressure back then.

Gritting his teeth, Kratos said something normally he shouldn't "He will kill you and take back what was his. And nothing you can do about it because facing him you're like an ant."

Suddenly, everything became frozen, time itself stopped, Kratos shivered in fear when he looked at Kyle's eyes, he was literally trembling. He had never been so scared in his whole life until this very moment, the Kyle present, no that thing is not Kyle because at the moment Kyle crimson eyes turned completely black, he was grinning.

"You should know how to speak. I thought you were clever and has good self-control. I guess I was wrong, jealousy is an ugly thing. Still jealous even though you stopped having an idea of pursuing Emea since a long time ago, sealing your own feelings that you couldn't admit. I admire you for that. However, I will kill you, crush your soul next time, you say something like this." the thing that looks like Kyle says before disappearing like a mirage.

Time restarted working again, even when back to normal, with the exception of Kratos, who remained frozen for some time, his clothes were totally drenched in sweat, he was still shivering. There was on thing inside his head ''What hell was that? I'm shivering just by remembering it.''

''It's an abomination, that thing shouldn't exist,'' Kratos muttered still feeling scared by that thing's gaze.

He stopped his meditation and after changing into new clothes, he left going toward Emea and other's next destination.
