66 Inside the Mind of the Dark Entity, Part 2

"I must be too exhausted from the way I entered this place; I need to be careful from now on." Anton walked slowly towards the bodies on the floor.

Examining the wounds, Anton discovered that they were bitten by some kind of unknown animal or monster. "The bite marks are something I haven't seen before; I wonder what could have caused it."

Anton carefully moved the bodies, checking to see if there was anything useful for him in the future. Looking at his own body, he realized that nothing had come with him except his clothes. Therefore, anything he could use as a weapon would be very helpful.

"Is this a piece of paper...? It seems to have some pointed text."

Anton found a sheet of paper on the woman's body; after making sure there was nothing else, he respectfully covered the woman's body and paid his respects. "I'll try to protect your daughter, I promise."

Anton's gaze now focused on the content of the letter, and he read it carefully. Due to the lack of light in his surroundings, he had a hard time.

"If you're not careful and stray into the wrong areas of reality, you'll end up in the backrooms, where there's nothing but the smell of damp carpet, the madness of the yellow monkey, and the endlessly loud background noise of the maximum buzzing fluorescent lights, and about... "

"Wrong areas of reality?"

The world around was a product of a dark entity, and he initially believed that the students were the first victims of this dark entity, but it seems he was wrong. According to his suspicions, there are countless victims of this annoying, dark entity.

Turning the page, Anton saw a different text.

"[We were more than six long hours before we could get out of that infinite place; we have no food, and the messages on the wall say everything is contaminated. There are monsters everywhere, avoiding making noise, but in the end, we were found by that four-legged monster.]"

"[I don't have much time; according to the information we could gather, this place is a copy of a horror story; the words on the wall said it was about the "backrooms," but later, they say it's not the same, a small copy of what that story means.]"

"[God save you if you hear something wandering nearby because it surely heard you.]"

"It's just an annoying dark entity; I'll make sure to end its existence."

Anton murmured to himself.

Without wasting time, Anton now searched the man's body. Examining his wounds, they were much more brutal than the woman's, possibly because he desperately tried to protect his family.

"A knife!" Anton frowned upon seeing an intact knife in the man's hands.

Taking the knife in his hands, Anton could examine it more closely. It was a long and straight knife; it seemed to belong to the group of military tactical knives.

"It will do for now."

After placing the bodies in a position where Sara wouldn't see them, he leaned slightly and said, "I'll make sure to protect your daughter; we'll get out of here together."

Returning to where Sara was peacefully sleeping, Anton sat next to her with a serious look for a few seconds. Only now did he have time to review all the information and organize it to be able to get out of this place.

From the information obtained so far, he found that this place called the "maze" is a copy of a horror story called "Backrooms." Considering that, Anton speculated that the first person to be a victim of this unknown dark entity confused the place with the backrooms.

Therefore, for now, he only knew that those who could come to this place could only do so through dreams; the real body remains asleep while struggling to escape the maze.

So, how is it possible to die in this place?

Anton carefully thought about that point, considering that there are several people dead from entering this place; the injuries suffered in that place should influence the real body outside. In that way, dying or getting hurt in this place will result in the same damage to the real body.

"I need to get out of this place; trusting in something or someone could be imprudent."

Anton looked at the knife in his hands before murmuring, "This should work; I hope they can read it."

After careful thought, Anton cut deep enough to leave some letters marked on his left arm.

"If the wounds caused in this place are reflected outside, they should notice this."

At this moment, after finishing cutting his arm, Anton stared expressionlessly at the bleeding letters.

"Backrooms..."

"Will it be enough for Rafael to act quickly?" Anton silently reflected.

...

Rafael remained silent, looking at Anton's unconscious body. "I had to stop him; I knew it was madness to enter the mind of that dark entity."

"Doctor Carmen, how is the Guardian doing?" Rafael asked anxiously.

"He's fine; the serum in his body healed the wounds on his hand. We have to wait and see how everything evolves; we just need" Dr. Carmen quickly paused.

"What's happening?" After seeing Dr. Carmen's unusual behavior, Anton approached her. Then he looked at the blood dripping from Guardian Anton's arm.

"Bring the first aid kit quickly," Dr. Carmen hurriedly shouted.

"Is he badly hurt?" Rafael approached and closely examined Anton's wound.

"It's as if he's..."

"They are letters!" Rafael quickly understood the message.

"Mr. Anton is inside, and apparently, he figured something out. Carmen, quickly clean the wound to see what message he left us."

"I understand."

"Backrooms."

In Rafael's memories, that name came up when he was researching horror legends or myths to reinforce his knowledge.

"Sir, we have the results for the backrooms." Said a field agent handling a computer.

"Good, you can briefly explain what the backrooms mean." Rafael turned his head and said it directly.

"Yes, sir." The agent nodded slightly and said, "It's a very new horror story; The Backrooms are about horrible dreams that many people have experienced while sleeping. In the story, it is said that the backrooms are about a nightmare where people get trapped in mazes full of identical rooms and long, empty rooms."

"It might be..." Rafael remembered the information he received about the other victims. All the deaths were identical—brain deaths for no apparent reason. Therefore, he quickly deduced that the backrooms created by the dark entity were something similar to the conspiracy theories published on the internet.

"If someone dies inside the maze, they die in real life. While the person is inside the maze, the injuries suffered in the dream are reflected in the victim's body." Rafael briefly looked at Anton's body and knew how to act from now on.

"All students will be put under surveillance; take them to the base. As for the Guardian, we'll move him quickly to a room where he'll be monitored by doctors until he wakes up."

Dr. Carmen nodded understandingly and said, "Understood, sir, I will personally ensure the Guardian's well-being."

"Good, you can go ahead." Rafael turned his head toward an agent and made contact several times.

"What are your orders?" The agent asked quickly.

"I want you to take care of bringing all the close family members of the students; the girl's parents were influenced by the dark entity; considering that, the others should be in danger."

"Understood, sir, I will take care of it."

"That's all you can do for now, Guardian; I trust you'll come back to us." Rafael said to himself helplessly, He quickly headed to a car to escort the van carrying Anton back to the base.
