34 A Parallel World

"A parallel world, but highly distorted; not only the supernatural inhabits this world, but also specialized assassins." Anton turned his gaze to the clothing store, shook his head, attempting to erase his questioning thoughts, and descended into the elevator to take his car again.

As a global organization, the Association of Light stands far above any other, but one that is on par is the High Order, known for practically controlling the world. However, even they follow the orders established by the Association of Light when their members are at work.

Recalling vaguely who John was, Anton fell silent and wondered, for the first time since he woke up here, where the heck he was. It was a parallel world; there were exactly the same countries, although their names were different, but everything was the same, so it wasn't exactly a big change to consider.

Knowing that someone who used to be just fiction exists, Anton truly got excited and wondered what would happen next in the future.

"I just hope that later on, robots won't appear fighting in the middle of the city," Anton muttered as he started the car.

Viggo's mafia, this businessman who managed crimes in a subtle way, has now taken the offensive against a single man many considered unbeatable. Despite being from a foreign mafia, his power in this country is so great that Viggo in the underworld is respected by all men and criminals.

There is a record of his businesses, including assassinations, robberies, smuggling, drug trafficking, protection fee collection, and human trafficking, among many other things. They do whatever it takes to make money. They are notorious and extremely cruel. Most people don't mess with them for fear of the consequences.

Still, if Viggo is pursuing Jonathan, it means he is going to die. Anyone who messes with that man will end up dead.

In this world, Johan had a notorious disdain for crimes; he repudiated those who caused evil, and he was willing to bury them with total certainty. But there were bigger things he had to worry about, so he was hesitant about getting involved or not with these problems.

He knew exactly what John's story was the moment he learned about his existence. It was like a mechanism had turned on in his mind, and this was the first time something like that happened.

He knew that John would cause a bloodbath just for the death of his dog and the theft from his car. Initially, everything progressed normally, but as time passed, John's life would become increasingly bloody.

Thinking about this, it was completely by chance that he heard about John because he wasn't connected to the human underworld; nothing related to the supernatural world entered his list of priorities.

Anton didn't want to waste time with fights against humans, so even though he supported John, he wanted to stay on the sidelines. After sorting out some of his thoughts, he headed towards the church.

"Who knows, maybe someday I can lend you a hand."

Upon reaching the church, Anton returned to his good priestly personality. All the brutality in his gaze disappeared completely, and now he seemed to be a kind-hearted person.

Walking on the altar, dressed in black, and holding a Bible, he thought about everything that had happened since the last time he was here.

"To kill, to expel, and to cleanse..." Anton murmured, knowing that these were the three things he had done so far. Exorcising and killing were just some of the most notorious things he had done. He wondered daily how it would be when all this ended; right now, nerves consumed him, so he started smoking nicotine-free cigarettes to calm down. It worked, but it was boring, so he did it occasionally but not very often.

After airing all his grievances, he sighed deeply and returned to one of the confessionals. He had to write a report on the things he had done in the last few days. As an exorcist priest, his duty is to inform the Association of Light about everything he does, and now that there was no more work, it was time to write the report.

First of all, job number one is the most detailed one he must write because it's the most important. This is because the exorcism ritual is a very serious matter and involves a mysterious power not yet fully known, so it's necessary to ensure that the person performing the exorcism has enough mental, moral, and spiritual capacity, as well as sufficient understanding of what is being done. Of course, in an emergency, the priest can decide whether to perform an exorcism according to the circumstances.

"Exorcisms..." In a short time, Anton had written down all the information about the evil spirit he had exorcised. He was already very familiar with the procedure, but the only difference with common priests is that he decides whether to exorcise or kill the possessed. Everyone is focused on helping, but no one considers whether it's too easy or dangerous to do it or not.

As a ShadowBane and the youngest to become an exorcist, what he's achieving so far is unimaginable to others but common for his family.

On this point, Anton was also surprised at first. The world is now in a modern era, but it doesn't exhibit much of that modernism.

But the Association of Light is sometimes too rustic because they have to send messages that directly involve the paranormal through messenger pigeons.

"Come on, buddy, take this to the Association of Light." Looking at this intelligent messenger pigeon, Anton had a tender look in his eyes. This messenger pigeon has been with him for some years and is like a companion to him.

When he saw the pigeon depart, Anton was about to return home when suddenly he saw an old man at the church entrance staring at him.

"Dad, what are you doing here?"
