Chapter 1: The Pride of Light

Gods, Demons, and Angels once threaded this Earth, perhaps just a fabric of imagination or just a legend created by the people. Yet, the truth remains clear in that millennia of years, there stood out one man before many. A group once known as the Seven Deadly Sins and Ten Commandments rose from ranks, but one has the strongest title. His name was renowned once throughout the entire continent. Human at the very core, the embodiment of strength, the Sun's pride, His name was resounding and respected by the whole country. His feats consisted of defeating immeasurably strong opponents, saving the once glorious Brittania, and making a certain Demon King kneel to his knees.

His name was Escanor.

Millenia has passed. Everyone has forgotten the Brittania, and with it, the conflict of the three races has been resolved. Everyone went to their own ways, but a remnant remains one of the weapons that was a Sacred Treasure named Rhitta held by Escanor. Many tried to lift the weapon, but none have succeeded due to its enormous weight; along with being a one-handed weapon, it was deemed unusable and time went by then it was forgotten. Buried in sand, water, and mud, yet nobody knew that the divine axe was slowly gathering power from its previous owner until the whole millennia it rested. Now lying in a forest beneath a huge tree and surrounded by its roots lying and waiting for its new owner to come.

Civilizations were made, and humans went to outer space, and the power that had once taken over ancient times now has risen; it has now called "quirk."

Story of the boy turning into the strongest hero. Started with nothing but gained everything. Weak becoming strong. A dream that turned into reality. Midoriya Izuku is known best for being quirkless and has been bullied tantamount of times. Yet, he has the aspiration to become a hero.

Izuku took the AU exam, but he failed by not gaining points, and he was now devastated. Devastated by the fact that he failed all of them, he failed all Might, he failed his mom, Izuku has failed his dream, and most of all, he failed himself.

He went to an incredibly massive tree throughout the whole ordeal that stood within the Dagobah Municipal beach; it was the beach he trained with all Might; although the tree was as tall as an apartment, it did not have any leaves, and the roots were burnt. Sometimes people around there can feel the incredible heat when near the tree. Izuku always goes there whenever hardships hit him, even though he did not know he was constantly being observed by an entity. He kept questioning himself at this point by the failure made; thus, his questions finally provoked the curiosity of an unknown entity.

Perhaps Izuku did not come to the tree in another universe, or the tree did not exist. He went on to be called by U.A. He passed, and his result was delayed because of some mishaps by All Might.

Possibly he went to training and improved himself a little bit better.

In another universe, he probably did not get All Might's attention and became a policeman and married a decent woman.

But in this universe.

An Axe has emerged

The essence of its owner still intact even thousands of years has passed, and it answered one of the child's questions.

"I failed the UA exam badly; maybe I just don't deserve this kind of power," Izuku said while clenching and looking at his fists. The entire childhood consisted of admiring and analyzing heroes; even then, the bullying he got from a friend, his ideals did not shake; instead, it cemented through his mind but failing your mentor for who has given everything to you. He began questioning himself, and this time an answer was given.

"Power is not given to you whether you are not deserving nor undeserving. Power is a power that is just what it is."

The answer that he heard was something kind of an anomaly; he did not hear a sound, but it resounded in his brain. Izuku now was immediately on his guard; he looked around and saw nobody at all, but he did see something, and he is skeptical for he has always been a resident tree-hugger within inside this tree, but this is the first time he saw an axe large as him and appeared in front of him. Its design is a giant ornamental axe with a blade shaped like a crescent moon, similar to a Monk's spade. The axe also features two golden protrusions, one larger than the other, with white tips. The longer one is in the middle at the top of the axe, the smaller one is the opposite of the axe's blade. The handle is dark blue, and it features a golden semicircular guard with four spikes on it.

"It's you." Izuku found himself muttering to the thing.

"You want to have power?"

That entity asked him he found himself crushed to the gravity of that "voice."

"What power? I already have one, and I just…failed in everything. Still, I would always stand up no matter how many obstacles I have to face, and besides, this power is just the only power I needed." Now the weird thing is Izuku was smiling while standing up after falling to his knees by the time he hears its "voice."

"…." The axe has seen through thousands and thousands of years and gained consciousness through time. During those times, it has always observed Izuku throughout the entire childhood. It found itself humored by Izuku endearing. Such innocence and behind that innocence was a sense of justice so strong even for self-sacrifice he was willing to do within those times it lived it always finds a host. Still, those hosts die due to the intense heat, and there were and always been just two vessels. Mael and Escanor both monsters in their own right, and this time it was willing to help a child become the third one.

"Here is the glasses."

Izuku found himself getting chills. Like typical eyeglasses, a compartment is stored, but this one is made up of wood that came out of nowhere and now laid beside the colossal axe.

"I wish for you to survive this ordeal."

When the voice lets out its warning Izuku then, in turn, warily scanned around him. "What ordeal? What do you mea-"a golden orb came from the axe and went inside him.

"I did not ask if you wanted the power. That was on order."

Izuku was seething inside, and not because of anger; he was literally burning inside. The heat that comes from within his body and acting like he was lit on fire.

"The glasses wear them to control the power."

The "voice" got a lot gentler when he saw the cinnamon roll-looking kid in unbearable pain. Izuku followed the voice, but it was ten steps from him. Izuku did not know that these ten steps would be the most extended steps he will take.

"Come."

He was already walking towards the compartment stood. He was gritting his teeth so hard that it was on the verge of breaking.

"You will die if you do not reach it."

Izuku jumped but fell short, like five-steps short. He knew he was dying, but his will is still ablaze.

"You can do it. You will have to do it."

The entity wants to be freed; at last, he wants someone to hold this power to at the very least rest. It was tiring, and it knew he was being unfair to the kid.

Izuku was smiling, but he did not progress any further. He was burning inside and out. He can feel the heat, and he knows this was just not any heat.

He has already saved Katsuki during the slime incident, and the heat contained in him was a million times hotter.

He knew he was dying; he was already turning into scorched black. He sees himself being burned alive, but he knew he would not give up; he was still trying.

Trying to live, trying to pass this impossible trial, and most of all trying to prove his existence.

"If I ever survive this… I would give my best to everyday life. Best not just being a hero but being a person. Please…Let me live." was Izuku's last thoughts, and he saw a hand outstretched to get him, and the searing heat finally stopped.

"This was one way to pass a trial. Put the glasses onto that child. For this will be the last time, such things would be decided by me. Next time it would be decided by him."

The cryptic message was given to Aizawa. He found the compartment and normal-looking glasses inside but inside a container was a name; the exact message was "Owned by Escanor." He heard the kid grunting when he took his eyes away from him and finally put the glasses on the child. The child was burnt as if he was breathing his last moments, but his instincts tell him otherwise and that this person would live.

"This is just unbelievable." was the appropriate comment on what had transcended in the Dagobah Municipal beach. What he meant was every single thing, even the water, gave way through such heat. The giant tree was also gone as if it did not even exist. The sand turned to a volcanic glass even Endeavor did not have this kind of high temperature. Choppers and cars were already flooding in from every direction. Why it wouldn't be the light that came from here struck over the clouds and produced heat unlike any other attract tons of people. It was just raining a few moments ago, and it stopped when the light had hit the clouds.

"This is going to be really bothersome." He was glad that this time, aside from the media, firetrucks, and an ambulance, it was on its way here. What really was bothersome was how did this all happen. Aizawa recalled a particular phone call that brought him here.
