Shen Zhichu shook her head, her eyes reddened and staring blankly out the window. Mumbling under her breath, she emitted choked sobs.
A pang of alarm struck Li Jingshen's heart. Before he could react, Shen Zhichu broke into a shrill, hysterical cry.
The moment of breakdown was instantaneous. Shen Zhichu recklessly threw herself backward, catching Li Jingshen off guard. He nearly bit his tongue as her head collided with his chin.
Li Jingshen quickly wrapped one arm around Shen Zhichu's upper body and with his other hand pressed the call button on the wall.
