171 The Threat

When Melody's phone rang, her hands shook and the shrill sound cut through the air. She paused before answering as she was scared and curious at the same time. She felt a wave of panic come over her as she knew this call could answer questions about her past and the safety of her baby.

She held her breath and got ready for the unknown voice on the other end of the call. Time seemed to have stood still. She took a deep breath and then pushed the button to answer the call. She was ready for whatever was on the other end of the line.

"Melody, have you made the call?" the mysterious caller asked with an enigmatic tone. "I hope you realize now the seriousness of the situation. Your precious baby is missing, and time is of the essence. You must listen carefully and do exactly as I say if you ever want to see your child again."
