The Heir

Morgan woke up with a terrible hangover this morning and regretted going out with his friends last night. They had been taking shot after shot, and he couldn't even remember how many.

As he tried to piece together the events of the night before, he couldn't help but feel a sense of unease about something else that had happened. He remembered flirting with a girl at the bar, and then leaving with her to go to another club. But after that, his memories became hazy.

He tried to shake off the feeling of unease that was creeping up on him, but it only seemed to grow stronger. He couldn't remember if he had done anything regrettable or if he had been taken advantage of in some way.

He had promised to visit his mom and dad for breakfast, and he intended to keep his word. Perhaps he felt obligated or responsible to fulfill this commitment to his loved ones. They may also be engaging in a long-standing custom of gathering every morning for breakfast. Whatever the case may be, he has promised to keep his word and show up to this family get-together.

Feeling a little hungover from the last night's partying, he arrived at his parents' estate later than usual. He had overslept despite his intention to fulfill his pledge to join them for breakfast after their late night out. As he walked through the beautiful corridors, he felt bad for being late.

Morgan tried to shake off the nervousness and regret as he made his way to the dining room. He passed by some of the family's prized possessions, such as antique vases and rare paintings, but his mind was preoccupied with some other things. He knew his parents valued punctuality, and he didn't want to disappoint them.

As he entered the room, his parents greeted him with a mix of concern and disappointment. "Morgan, dear, are you feeling alright?" Juliette asked, noticing the fatigue etched on her son's face.

Juliette Blodwyn was a striking woman with sharp features and piercing blue eyes that seemed to scrutinize everything in their path. Her high cheekbones and narrow jawline gave her a regal air, as if she were always ready to take charge. Her hair was a glossy brown, cut in a sleek bob that framed her face perfectly.

Despite her intimidating presence, there was a warmth to her smile and a kindness in her gaze that suggested a deep well of compassion beneath her appearance. She was always impeccably dressed, her outfits tailored to perfection and her accessories chosen with a discerning eye for quality and style.

"I'm fine, Mom. Just a late night with the guys," Morgan replied with a slight smile, trying to hide his discomfort.

Hector Blodwyn cleared his throat and spoke in a stern tone. "Son, we expect better from you. You know how important family time is to us. And it's not just about punctuality, it's about being present and engaged in the moment."

Hector Blodwyn was a tall and imposing figure, with broad shoulders and a muscular build. His hair was a deep shade of black, neatly styled and slightly slicked back, while his green eyes were sharp and piercing. He had a strong jawline and chiseled features, with a small scar above his left eyebrow that added to his rugged and masculine appearance.

His fashion sense was impeccable, always dressed in expensive suits that fit him perfectly, paired with polished leather shoes. Despite his intimidating presence, there was a certain charm and charisma about him that drew people to him.

Morgan nodded, feeling guilty. "I'm sorry, Dad. It won't happen again."

His parents exchanged a knowing look before his mother spoke up again. "Well, let's not dwell on it. You're here now, and that's what matters. Let's enjoy our breakfast together."

Morgan felt relieved by his mother's words and nodded in agreement. He picked up his fork and began to eat his breakfast, enjoying the delicious spread of food in front of him.

As they ate, his parents made light conversation about their day-to-day activities and plans for the week ahead. Morgan tried to join in, but his mind kept wandering back to the events of the night before.

Finally, he couldn't take it anymore and decided to bring it up. "Mom, Dad, I'm sorry about today. I know I was late for breakfast and I'm sorry if I disappointed you."

Hector raised his hand. "Morgan, it's okay. You're an adult now and you're entitled to make your own choices. But we hope that you're being responsible and taking care of yourself."

Morgan let out a small sigh of relief at his father's words. He knew his parents were always worried about him, but he appreciated their concern. "Of course, Dad. I'm being responsible," he assured his father.

Juliette smiled at him and poured him a cup of coffee, her gentle and caring nature on full display. "Our only wish is for you to be happy and in good health, my dear." She spoke softly, making sure her son knew that his well-being was her top priority.

Morgan nodded, feeling grateful for his parents' love and support. "I am, Mom. I really am." He sipped his coffee and enjoyed the warm and cozy atmosphere of their family breakfast.

He couldn't help but think back to the mistakes he had made in the past. There were a few times where he had let his partying and drinking get out of control, leading to some embarrassing and regrettable situations.

He knew that his parents were aware of these incidents and had been disappointed in him at times, but they had always been forgiving and supportive, helping him get back on track.

Despite his slip-ups, Morgan was determined to prove to his parents and to himself that he could be responsible and make better choices.

Juliette dabbed the corner of her mouth carefully with a white napkin and said, "When will we hear the announcement of your engagement? Your sister Annette has already married. We look forward to hearing the good news from you." She looked at her eldest son, the heir to the huge Blodwyn Family fortune. "You've been dating Sarah Kaisley since three years ago."

"Three years sure isn't long enough to propose to a woman." Morgan cut up his salmon and poked it with a fork, his dark blue eyes fixed on his mother who was awaiting his response. "We're just having fun, that's all."

Juliette raised an eyebrow at him as she poured him a cup of coffee. "What do you mean by that, dear?"

Morgan shrugged, taking a sip of his coffee. "I mean, three years is still too early to think about marriage. We're still enjoying each other's company and having fun. No need to rush things."

Hector nodded in agreement as he sliced his omelet. "Marriage is a big commitment, Son. It's important to make sure you're both ready for it before taking the plunge. But at the same time, you don't want to wait too long and let a good thing slip away."

Morgan sighed and pushed his plate away. He knew his parents meant well, but he couldn't help feeling frustrated with their constant pressure to settle down. His thoughts were consumed by something far more pressing than marriage.
