"Melody," Morgan whispered tenderly. He took a step closer, his gaze intense as he took in the sight of her.

Melody snapped her head in the direction of the familiar voice she hadn't heard in so long. Her eyes widened in disbelief, and her breath caught in her throat as she locked eyes with the man she never thought she'd see again.

Her heart was beating fast when she felt his familiar presence around her. She took a slight step back, and her surprise mixed with other emotions she hadn't been expecting. Seeing his looming, intimidating figure, it really caught her off guard.

"Surprised to see me?" His voice was a low, almost cocky murmur that sent shivers down her spine. His eyes were a little darker than she remembered, and she couldn't quite figure out what they conveyed. When he took a slow step toward her, his lips pulled into a small, mysterious smile, which made her uneasy.
