Chapter 17: Slap from the luna
Lucas sense his mother at the door and quickly rush to the door to stop her before she comes in. Ariel doesn't want to meet her and it's obvious her mother will be mad if she sees Ariel sleeping on his bed because she already chose a mate for him. It's Ariel he wants not Clarissa.
Lucas open the door and saw his mother standing outside the door with an unfriendly look on her face. He close the door behind him silently making sure not to make any sound that will wake Ariel.
" Mother! What are you doing here?" Lucas ask with a low voice as he guard the door with his figure to prevent her mother from going inside.
" I'm here to see you of course, or is it a crime to come to my son's room and see him?" Luna Alice asked back forcing a smile. She had change her mind on her way here and that's because Clarissa said she should not call her name yet.
" Where is the girl in your room? I want to see her" Alice said and Lucas eyes became dimed.
' how did my mother knows that there is a girl in my room? News runs fast' Lucas thought as he gaze at his mother expressionless face. One minute she is forcing a smile the other minute she is wearing another expression.
" She is sleeping mother" Lucas reply. There is no need in hiding the truth because no matter how long he hides the truth, it will surely be revealed and then he will be seen as a bad leader.
" Wow Lucas, can I have a glimpse of her?" Alice asked and Lucas remains calm trying not to frown his face.
" No you are going to wake her up" Lucas objected. He knows the moment her mother sees Ariel, she will know something is wrong with her and that will complicate things even more.
Not until he finds out Ariel's real identity, he won't allow his mother to be closed to her. His mother wants Clarissa and he wants Ariel. Clarissa wants him and Ariel doesn't. But the fact remains the same, he wants Ariel and Ariel alone.
" What do you mean by I'm going to wake her up? Who is she to you?" Luna Alice ask angrily.
" She is my mate mother" Lucas said emphasizing the word mate and a hot slap landed on his left cheek.
"You must be stupid" Luna Alice said angrily after giving Lucas a hot slap on his cheek.
" Clarissa is your mate and not some random girl. Know this and know peace." Luna Alice said and walk away angrily.
Lucas remain there as if nothing happened as he watch the retreating back of his mother.
He went back into the room and lock the door from inside. He walked to the bed side and give Ariel a peck on her forehead.
" It's either you or no one else" Lucas said and Pat her hair.
" Hera! Hera wait " Clarissa called when she saw Hera running to the pack restaurant with some other kids.
Hera stopped running when she heard someone calling her name. The other kids stops too and turned to look at the person calling her.
" Oh it's Clarissa" one of the boys who was running with exclaim with a smile on his face.
" Yes you guys should go for now, I will join you shortly" Hera said and the other kids nod their head and continue running towards the restaurant. They were actually going to taste the new cuisine the pack chef just introduced.
Hera walk towards Clarissa and clarissa grab her hand.
" We need to talk Hera" Clarissa said and drag Hera to a corner where she sat her down.
" What are we talking about?" Hera ask and Clarissa sighs.
" I want to be friends with the new girl" Clarissa said with puppy eyes and Hera actually fell for them.
" Sure you can be friends with her" Hera reply with a smile on her face.
" Do you have to ask for my permission first? Hera asked
" No, it's not like I'm asking for your permission, I don't really know if she will like me" Clarissa said pretending to be sad.
" Come on, she will like you. I know she likes me from the looks in her eyes this morning" Hera said holding Clarissa as she hold Clarissa hands and caressed them with her small hands.
" Okay since she likes you, can you say hi to her later and tell her to always let you know if she needs something that you have a grown up friend that can help her out anytime? Clarissa requested with puppy eyes and at the same time pouting her mouth like a baby...
" Please...." She pleaded pouting her mouth and Hera smile.
" Sure I will" Hera reply with a smile revealing her cute dimples.
" You promise?" Clarissa ask
" Yes I promise" Hera reply and Clarissa lift her up and swirl her in the air with a smile on her face and Hera chuckle.
" Thank you Hera. I will take you for hunting tomorrow" Clarissa said with a smile pestered on her face.
" Really..! Thank you Clarissa" Hera scream in excitement. Going hunting is one thing she had been willing to do but no one wants to take her hunting. So since Clarissa have said she will take her for hunting so why won't she say hi to Ariel. She can't miss this golden opportunity of once in a lifetime.
" I should be thanking you Hera. Please say hi to her for me. Okay, we will go hunting tomorrow by 6 in the evening." Clarissa said and pinch Hera cute cheeks.
" Don't worry Clarissa, I will say hi to her and even spend some time with her and if you also want me to ask her questions about her, I will do that too" Hera said with ethusiasm in her voice. She is really happy to go for hunting for the first time and not with any other person but with the best warrior and Hunter in the pack. This is like a dream comes true for her.
" Yes Hera, ask her questions about herself too so that I can know her better" Clarissa reply immediately with a smile on her face.
" Consider it done" Hera said and run away happily.
A slight smile appear on Clarissa face as she clamp her fingers together.
