93 New Apsolon

After my last excursion and some time at home. I was hired by the government of New Apsolon to deal with the Absolutes.

I had expected the Absolutes to hire me first. I am not complaining though. The Jedi may complain though. Well, Qui-Gon Jinn won't complain. His Padawan, Obi-wan Kenobi would complain though. A stickler that one.

I arrived at New Apsolon alone. I was to meet with my client. Who was none other than the Supreme Governor, Roan. 

Per usual, I did not go around uncloaked. I easily snuck past security and made it inside his office while he was working.

I click my mandibles, "Governor, your security is lacking."

Instead of getting panicked, he smiled. He got up from his chair, "Hello Predator. Welcome to New Apsolon. Thank you for accepting this bounty mission."

"You are welcome. I always thought your predecessor was too soft-hearted back then. Now the loose end wants to strangle you and take your chair. Like they murdered poor old Ewane. I am glad you decided to get the problem solved. You are not a simple man despite your background.", I say.

He nods, "Well, I have had a life of many challenges. Challenges change people, evolve them. Also, Jedi arrived a few days ago. They are here to deal with the Absolutes. However, their progress is nearly non-existent. I worry as time goes one. They got Ewane and I am determined they do not get me. I won't let what we all fought for be jeopardized. I hope you can solve this problem quickly."

I assure, "They will not survive the next 24 hours Roan. They will not survive..."

I then leave the room as I have to start the hunt. Lucky for me, the Absolutes will not be far. This planet is a tech center. They should be in this capital city.

Well, I already know they are in the city. An android was dispatched here as an infiltrator already long ago. It found where their secret base is, and much more. Useful machine they are.

Therefore, I was in nor rush. Knight Tahl should have been tricked into infiltrating by now. As Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi are on world.

I stroll to my destination. As while holographic maps and detailed intel is useful. Seeing and casing out the environment yourself is still helpful. There could be more than one HQ after all. You never really know for sure until the work starts.

The HQ of the Absolutes is located in the underground of the affluent commercial district. Where all the corporation big names live and work. Fitting place as the Absolutes gain easy access to powerful private individuals they can sway to their side. They must get funding and support from somewhere after all.

I eventually made my way to the secret entrance in the city.

Their secret entrance was horrible too. It was a crappy backdoor that was in the basement floor of a corporation building. It had just a simple security camera. It had no special optics neither. The security of the building was basic too. They took the idea of appearing non-threatening to hide away a bit too far. Discrete security measures are still possible after all.

The Absolutes were a bunch of morons by my estimation so far.

I went through the door and took the steps down to a hidden floor. Which had a cube train car on magnet rails. I didn't take it of course. That would alert them. I just climbed into the railway tunnel. Then I started running. I was incredibly fast after all. Definitely faster than that train car.

I get to the end of the rail. Which is a massive closed blast door. There was no control panel or power access on this side. I looked for another way past the door. There were no vents or anything of the sort.

I scoff, "Well, a big blast door is effective. For regular people that is."

However, I am patient. With the current situation. The door will open soon.

2 hours later...

The train car did come to the door. It opened and I followed the train car in. 

I of course wanted to see who was in the train car. The person that stepped out was Alani, then Eritha followed. Daughters of Ewane; former Governor.

It was comical how Ewane's own fruits were trying to undo his work. Along with being responsible for his death. A pitiable man. As not even his bloodline would continue. They have to die after all.

Now that I had access to the HQ, I strolled around. I never paid much attention to the literature of what all happened on this world. So I only remember a few things. Although that is enough.

For the next few hours, I learned a lot. The other leader is Balog. So it is Balog, Alani, and Eritha as the leaders. I know what three heads I need to show Roan. However, he won't like it.

I also found Knight Tahl, still "undiscovered". I even spotted Oleg, another spy. Who had the list of all absolute members. I discretely lifted the list off of Oleg. Which put him into a stressful state. However, he would soon find relief.

I had comprised the virtual net of the HQ already. Which means I can seal every door here and trap everyone inside. This whole base is about to become a Vader hallway scene.

"Time to start...", I mutter to myself.

I start in the areas where the least amount of goons are working. Which is maintenance ductways. I destroy the droids too.

I used my wristblades as the space was a little tight for the glaive. None of them saw what killed them as I pierced hearts, ripped off heads, and cut off body parts. It wasn't until I was done with most of those personnel that the other goons took notice. I guess they weren't watching the cameras.

This resulted in alarms. That I used to my advantage. As the alarms mean I know how they will react. I know how they will move.

Therefore, I stalked the corridors with Destined Death. They came in squads, running around like chickens. I cut down a group before they all could stop in their tracks. Then the next one came around the corner. This just kept repeating as bodies littered the floor. 

Fear filled the environment. Which was exasperated by the fact people were quickly finding out that escape was not possible. As all the doors were sealed and permissions were overrode. I went around and killed any goons that were trying to open doors. Which corralled everyone to the center of the base. 

As it happens, that would be the cafeteria. When I entered the cafeteria where the survivors were. I sealed the doors to the room. Then walked to the middle of them. There was around 300 goons left. Most armed with at least a simple blaster. I uncloaked in the middle of them with my glaive in hand. Their response was slow. It took 10 seconds before the first guy tried to shoot me. Only for the bolt to deflect and hit another goon. 

Then panic broke out. They tried to shoot my while I swung my glaive around the strike them down. A lot of them were dying from friendly fire and deflected bolts. When I was done, the floor had a thick coating of blood. As if it rained for an hour in here.

Now there was just three bodies left alive. The leaders that were holed up in the command room. Which was protected by a thick vault door. Nothing too fancy was required. I used the Force on it. Then it unlocked and opened on its own. I entered uncloaked.

The few goon guards were quickly dealt with as I crushed their brains with the Force.

"Alani, Eritha, and Balog. You three are now dead. Roan finally had enough and called me in. This will greatly shock him, but that isn't my problem.", I said.

They pleaded as I beheaded them one by one. Pleading that fell on deaf ears.

I put the heads over my shoulder, and took the bodies with me. As for Tahl and Oleg. I threw them in locked closets. As I exited the command room, Tahl was there.

I greeted, "Knight Tahl, I am surprised you got yourself out of the closet already. A pleasure to meet you. As you can see. I have just finished the bounty that Roan paid me to fulfill. Your expertise are no longer required for this problem. As the problem has been eliminated."

She frowns, "You massacred everyone here and killed Ewane's daughters."

I shrug, "Well, they were all Absolutes. Therefore, they all die all the same. Roan never said anything about sparing the leaders. He just wanted them dead along with everyone in their HQ that wasn't a prisoner. I have not gone off mission. Talk to Roan if you have grievances."

I then walk past her with the headless bodies. I unlock all the doors and leave the base.

Later one, I show up in Roan's office and drop three bodies in front of him while still cloaked. His eyes go wide with recognition. Then calm down in understanding with clenched fists.

"These three were the leaders?", he asks softly with sadness.

"Yes, they were. Betrayed by the daughters of Ewane and your protector. Truly a sad development. However, the bounty is complete. The leaders are dead and all Absolutes members in their HQ were slaughtered. Also, here is the list of Absolute members. So you can eliminate those that weren't in the base.", I said.

Then Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi entered with Tahl.

Jinn speaks, "Predator I know you are here. Can you how yourself please. Talking to air is embarrassing."

I laugh and uncloak behind the Governor, "Haha, of course. Good to see you again Master Jinn. How is work going for you?"

He sighs, "It is going fine. Was, going fine until you did your job."

I raise my hands in innocence, "Well, I can't be blamed for being good at what I do. I was properly hired after all."

Jinn shakes his head, "True enough. However, could you not have exercised more discretion? Many died."

"Only the members died. So no harm done. Just some cancer treatment is all.", I say.

Then I clack my mandibles, "Also, the problem is solved. You Jedi can go home early now. Roan is the one with all the extra work now. Nothing more for you all to do."

Obi-Wan was about to say something before Jinn raised a hand to stop him. He was probably about to say something extra righteous. 

Jinn then puts on a small smile, "Well, thank you for solving the problem Predator. If nothing else. It ended well enough. we will taking our leave."

Obi-Wan and Tahl were a bit unwilling, but followed Qui-Gon Jinn out.

"Goodbye Master Jinn. I hope Tahl can live a long life after this.", I say.

He stops when he hears me. He is smart and understands. The other two were confused.

I then said my farewell, "Goodbye Roan." I cloaked and left the room with my heads on my back. Roan was left to face reality alone.
