Chapter 8- A boy

During the deathly night, beneath the castle in an underground passage, the walls were cold with bright touches hanging on each sides of the wall. Evelyn and the kids walked behind prince Liam who led the way.

''We are here''

''Is this your underground study?'' Evelyn asked as she stared at the wall which was opening

''Uh''

Dylan just looked around not bothering to be curious as he felt bored while Carson and Luna were studying the layout.

The study was decorated with book shelves on each corner with varying sizes as well as various picture frames hanging at the wall.

Evelyn stared at her stomach feeling uncomfortable, she did not know why but she had not been feeling well for the past few months, she couldn't even make time for herself to go to the hospital.

The last time she went, she was told she was 6 months pregnant but it would not show, later she was told they couldn't find the baby which made her sad. She went to different hospitals including military hospital but was told the same news.

She decided to forget about it and focus on what was at hand not knowing that her body constitution was safe keeping her baby making it not to be seen.

they sat down in a lotus position as they tried to absorb the powers and refine them while directing it to their dantain.

Luna absorbed the most at a terrifying speed, luckily everyone was practicing so it could not be noticed even if they felt it.

While they were absorbing the powers in the witches orb, a war had erupted, causing it to be a brutal night, the palace was filled with the stench of blood.

The people cultivating noticed that something was wrong upstairs when prince Liam's phone was buzzing non-stop.

'buzzz'

buzzzzz

he picked it and allowed the person on the end of the line to speak first.

''My prince, there was a sneak attack at the palace and many people are dying, the generals are not in the palace and it would take time before they get here'' the butler spoke with panic inn his tone

Liam stood up immediately ordering everyone to stop, since there was a siege inn the palace, he needed to go and help.

'Evelyn, the children will follow this passage' he said pointing to the passage he just opened

''it will lead them away from here''

''Okay, Luna put these two orbs inside your bag and guard it well, Carson and Dylan protect each other, now leave''

The two orbs given to her where the oblivion orb and the witches orb.

''Are you sure'' Luna asked her mother

''Yes, i will go and bring Nia and Penelope''

they followed the passage while Liam and Evelyn got out using another passage as they arrived at Liam's room.

When they arrived at the hallway, blood was everywhere. They got to the last room in the hallway, luckily Nia and Penelope where still there.

Liam left her so he could go deal with others while showing her a passage that can lead them outside the castle.

Evelyn helped Nia and Penelope escape while Liam went to look for his wife, they came out from the palace to the woods behind the palace. they ran as they noticed that some people were on their tails.

She managed to shake them off but that was when her nightmare started. They had run deep into the forest which was the west side of the deathly forest. It was known to house many beasts of unknown origins. Nia and Penelope had reached the center of the forest which was eerily quiet.

Penelope was asleep, as she did not know what was going on, even when they ran she did not wake up as her mother had hit her on her sleeping accupiont to avoid her from seeing the brutal things at sight.

''ah'' a heavy breathing was being heard i8n the forest which made the formerly quiet forest to wake up the sleeping beasts located at that area.

Evelyn was in labour. She was shocked beyond disbelief as her abdomen was in pain. Nia who was with her laid Penelope on the grass while helping Evelyn who was gasping for air to put to bed.

''Mistress, the baby is not safe'' Nia said with panic written on her face while howls of animals that were approaching could be heard.

''Save the baby'' she said with beads of sweat on her forehead

''But you will die'' Nia answered with panic as she stared at her mistress.

''Just do it, let the baby live... make sure to find Axel and give him the baby''

''Yes ma'' she answered as she started working on her mistress while keeping her daughter Penelope by the side, out of thhe reach of the ferocious animals.

When the animals sensed the blood, they started approaching from all sides while watching their prey.

The children who had escaped from the palace where also in the same forest but they were coming from the east-west side.

Dylan who had the nose of a bloodhound was the first to perceive the blood which was in the air.

''I think i perceive the blood, fresh one at that''

''There are animals gathering at that position'' said Carson who had a sharp eye as he pointed at a far distance.

''Let check what it is''

they got closer till they heard the pants coming from a human being as well as some voices.

''Is that my mom?''

''What happened to her?

''Lets rush and see what happened'' Carson urged as they ran with her small foot stepping on branches and fallen leaves which attracted the attention of the animals hounding her mom and Nia.

They resulted to attacking the animals with the weapons they had first. It took some hours before they were able to approach Evelyn who was weak and was about to breath her last.

Ehhhh

the cry of the baby was so loud that the children who were approaching with a weak state as their were injuries on them were shocked.

''Is it aunt Nia or my mom who gave birth?'' she asked as they stared at each other dragging their wounded bodies to her mom, when she saw the baby who was in Aunt Nia's arms

''Mistress, is a boy''

Evelyn who was trying to keep her consciousness from slipping away smiled as she saw her daughter approaching.

''Mom, you gave birth''

''WOW, we now have a little one''

Evelyn cried tears of joy as he heard their words, she used the little ounce of strenght she had to put her daughter and son's hand together before speaking.
