Chapter 24 - Curing his Illness

He walked towards the dinning table.

Just looking at the food made his stomach growl.

He looked at her, then at her fair hands. If he was told that someone like her, a princess knew how to cook, he wouldn't believe it or that he would taste one of her dishes.

"Hmm.. don't think that I don't know what is in your mind. I may be a princess but I know how to cook"

He chuckled, "I did not say anything"

She snorted at his response.

Luna looked at the man who sat down naturally to eat her food.

"Aren't you afraid that I would poison you?"

He chuckled, "Would you?"

Luna:….

Her lips twitched at his response.

Forget it, besides she wasn't sure if he would enjoy the food.

She did not wait for him to sit, as she began to dig in.

They both ate with elegance as they ate the food.

"Brother in-law, have you heard from Luna"

"No, I was not able to reach her line, I thought she would not be coming anymore"

Axel McMahon was on phone with William(Evelyn step- brother).

Kai came into the study. He noticed that his dad was on phone with who seems like uncle William.

He laid down on the couch, giving off a lazy posture.

"little k, have you been able to contact your sister?"

Axel asked with a hint of frustration in his tone.

Usually, if anything was to happen or if she was going to do something, he would get a heads up first from her but this time she was missing.

"Dad, it's only been a week since sister disappeared, besides sister isn't weak to began with"

"Dad you should have faith in sister, but continue with the search"

Axel who heard his son's reply took in a deep breath, before sitting down at the head chair.

"Little k, do you think your sister encountered some trouble?"

T/$ Little k is Kai pet name.

"Dad, don't ask me. Try asking her subordinates for any clues"

"Fine, go call Thomas when you leave"

"mmm" he considerably closed the door while leaving.

Axel rubbed his temple. He was quite frustrated, was his daughter okay.

He put the cigarette into his mouth while he played with the lighter in his hands.

After his talk with Thomas he figured out some things, like the fact that she had probably encounters assassins.

As for not being able to call them or give them a hint is either because she is in a place without signal or she is waiting for the people who sent the assassins to lower their guard and then strike.

"Watch out for who is behind the scenes"

"Tighten the security around little k"

"Yes sir" Thomas bowed before leaving.

He walked out of the study.

He had been taken care of the children since their mother left, he wondered when he would retire from the company.

His daughter spends most of her holidays adventuring from one dimensional zones to another.

Sigh! He walked into the bathroom as he thought on how to deal with the upcoming crisis.

Witch Lotus Forest

It's been a week since Luna had been in the forest.

Luna used her company new drone prototype to scan the area and create a map.

This is what she does in every dimension she goes to, to the extent that she has a map for the dimensional zones she had visited.

She had finished with the North area which is where the demonic flower and the clearance lotus flower.

As for the south where they are happened to have the ice pith river as well as the Mystic lotus flower.

The soul retrieving flower is located at the East.

"its been more than a month now, are we not going to get the ice pith?" you could hear a hint of impatience in his voice.

She did not answer him but brought a map and placed it on the table.

"We would go to the North area first"

"Why"

He was getting impatient especially when he remembers what had happened between him and his fiancee.

They fought and it was because of his illness.

He would not say that he actually loved her, but he was grateful to her and would do anything she ask for.

She is the light in his life. When he was in the darkest phase of his life, when he thought he was going to drown himself in darkness she came and became his light.

Whenever he would go through his illness she would be close by.

The illness would make him hideous but she would still be by his side.

At first he did not love her and kept pushing her away but she insisted on coming back.

As time went by he did not know what caused the rift between them. Besides his cousin brother is back and there would be war very soon.

He needs to go and arrange his forces, he needed to get rid of this illness.

He was still in his thoughts when he heard her speak.

"We need to get the clearance lotus"

She looked at him from up to down before speaking again.

"you don't know anything about this forest and the information you have about it is only vague, it makes me wonder how you got here"

"My fiancee has been researching about my illness and told be to come here and get the ice pith and the clearance lotus flower".

"Did she tell you how to get the ice pith?"

She wanted to clear her suspicions. How he got in here was strange, his way of doing things inside the forest was also wrong.

If she was not here, he would have long since been dead.

After answering most of Luna's question, he couldn't help but feel that something was wrong.

"Why the questions?"

Should she tell him that your fiancee wants to kill you or she was wrong about most things.

She sucked in a deep breath before speaking.

She had spent a month with him and had gotten familiar with him but she shouldn't destroy a relationship, right?

" it seems like you only have a vague idea on how to get the ice pith and how to use it in curing your illness"

He was smart, if not he wouldn't have developed the world top business cooperation.

How couldn't he see that something was wrong.

He wanted to delve deeper but he was afraid of the answer.
