10 Chapter 10

Donald Na was sitting in his office with his bandages still over his eyes.

In the same room as him was Miura who was sitting on the couch looking through his phone.

He had on a black Versace jacket that had some golden pattern on the collar, black pants and black air force 1's.

But there was something different about him, there was a long and white think around his neck.

The white thing was slithering around his neck and showed it's head over his shoulder.

It was a long white snake with red eyes.

Donald put his right hand upwards and said while the snake was slithering over to his arm. "Have you heard from the God Dogs recently?"

Miura narrowed his non existent eyebrows and said. "Yeah, apparently they took over one of the schools that provide the most money right after we beat that Jin Jang guy.

And I heard that the Leader himself is not very happy about the fact that his strategist got wrecked."

Donald smiled and said. "I know all that, I was asking about whether you met Johan."

Miura's expression froze for a second and a drop of sweat went down his forehead. 'This guy...'

"Ahem.

I actually met him today while I was coming here."

Donald still had the same smile on his face and he asked while facing the window behind his desk, having his back turned to Miura. "What do you think about him?"

Miura's expression went serious and he said with a cold look in his eyes. "He's dangerous.

At the start of the fight, I overpowered him easily but something that happened after that surprised me.

He copied my techniques perfectly and used them against me.

More people showed up so I had to leave before things would get ugly."

Donald was silent for a few seconds but then he said. "What do you think we should do about him?"

Miura's eyes turned pitch black and he said without any expression visible on his face. "He's been a pain in the ass for The Union for some time with his little crew.

And his talent for fighting is genuinely scary...

I say we get rid of him."

Donald turned around and said with a smirk on his face. "You're thinking too much, Miura.

You're right about his talent being scary, but that doesn't mean we have to kill him.

We can get him over to our side since he is the leader of one of the Four Major crews, meaning he wants something from Gun.

And I just happen to know what he fights so desperately for."

Miura's expression went back to normal and he said while shrugging. "If you say so, but I still think he's dangerous, that guy's unstable mentally."

"You're talking as if we're right in the head."

Miura looked attacked and he said. "Hey!

At least we acknowledge ourselves for who we are.

But you're right, we're scum beyond redemption."

As soon as he finished that sentence the atmosphere in the room got colder.

Miura had that emotionless expression with pitch black eyes and Donald had the same expression as him.

Even the snake that was on Donald's neck froze in place.

Donald opened his mouth and said. "Don't use the terms that normal society uses to label us.

We're better than any normal person who can't even fight to protect themselves.

What do morals and ethics bring to the table in a life or death situation?

Those terms are used by people who have never been in a near-death situation."

He took the snake by it's body and put it's face in front of his. "When it comes to survival, animals or humans, will do anything to achieve it.

The two of us aren't 'scum beyond redemption', we've just embraced the true nature of humanity."

Miura had a bead of sweat going down his forehead and he said. "Alright, alright.

I get it."

Donald's face was stoic for a second but he smiled and said while putting the snake back over his neck. "I'm not expecting you to understand what my motives and goals are.

All you have to do is follow me and you'll be more than satisfied."

Miura said with a small smile. "I'm not so smart so that's why I decided to follow you.

And we get along pretty well so we're having fun too."

Donald said with a small smile. "Hmph.

I guess that's true."

His smile got wider and he said while taking the bandage off his eyes. "We'll have even more fun with the upcoming battle, the God Dogs will try and bite off more than they can chew."

He slowly opened his eyes and even Miura trembled a bit seeing them.

His eyes were still blood red but they were somewhat different.

His pupils were strange now, instead of them being circular, they were vertical.

His eyes looked like that of the snake he had around his neck.

He put one hand over his left eye and said. "That bastard Gun...

He damaged my eyes so much that I had to recover for weeks.

It's weird how much they changed though, my vision even got better."

If he was scary before, now this change definitely added to that.

Tears started to uncontrollably come out of his eyes as soon as he looked at the sun so he closed them.

"I knew it...

I still didn't recover."

He put the bandage back over his eyes and laid back in his chair.

Miura said. "Now you and your snake look even more similar.

Both of you are pale and have red eyes with vertical pupils.

It's kind of freaky."

Donald smirked and said. "You saw Gun when he came here last week.

Do you really think I'm the scary-looking one."

Miura remembered gun and he said with a frown on his face and a cold look in his eyes. "Gun..."

Miura's first meeting with Gun wasn't very pleasant since they fought as soon as they met.

More like Miura got humiliated by Gun but that doesn't matter right now.

*CREAK*

The door to their office opened and both of them looked towards the door.

"Hey...

I'm here for the monthly quota."

Miura's eyes widened and his expression was ugly while Donald recognized the voice.

Gun looked to his left and saw Miura sitting on a couch while glaring at him.

"Oh, the no-brows dread-head is here too."

Miura was glaring at him with pitch black eyes and veins bulging on his forehead.

Donald Na could tell from the silence that Miura was going to attack Gun any second now so he said. "Calm down Miura.

He's not here to fight against us, right?"

Miura looked at Donald with the same expression and calmed down a little seeing Donald's smile.

Gun looked back at Donald and said. "I'm just here to collect the money and discuss about a little something."

Donald looked at the place where Miura is supposed to be and said. "Go and calm down while I discuss some things with Gun."

Miura's expression was cold but he still got up and walked towards the exit.

After he walked past Gun he glared at him and got out of the room while closing the door behind him.

Gun looked at the door and said. "He's still angry about what happened last time."

Donald smiled and said. "I think that every person you come into contact with resents you for something."

Gun looked at Donald blankly and said. "You too huh?

Looks like your eye injury isn't recovered yet."

Donald touched his bandage and said. "Still a little sensitive to light."

Gun pointed at his eyes and said. "Know how it feels.

You should be able to sense the things around you better, right?"

Donald's expression was a little surprised and he said. "How do you know?"

"Looks like I was right, there is something called functional compensation..."

He was interrupted by Donald who said. "You mean that my body compensated for the damage done by sharpening my other senses?"

Gun took a cigarette out and said while lighting it. "Not only that, but this can become an increase in physical abilities too by removing the limiter placed on your muscles by a certain degree.

The damage I've done to you was more directed towards the brain since I was testing something and it looks like it worked out as intended."

Gun exhaled the smoke and said with a creepy smile. "A real-life power glitch."
