1 Birthday party

Lexi starts her new life today with her soon to be husband a man she has never met in person. Their relationship started when she ease dropped in on a video conference between her father and the man she had been dreaming about every since she was a young teenager. However no matter how many times she fantasized about meeting the man of her teenage fantasies she never let herself believe that they would actually be getting married. Actually until about a two years ago Lexi thought of Alex as someone who would become her ally in the future the same type of relationship he shares with her father. Not being able to control the excitement that was bubbling inside her, she giggled like a little girl taking a twirl in front of the full length mirror to check out her appearance. Not being one to dress up or wear makeup every day she was pleased with her appearance. The reflection in the mirror was quite different from the way she usually looks.. Actually she is usually sweaty and dirty from all the spots she plays with her light blonde hair pulled up in a ponytail. And if not out playing sports she's covered in mud from being out in the stables all day with her horse . She chuckled to herself, wondering if her own family is going to recognize her. The woman she sees in the mirror is a far cry from her usual tomboyish appearance. The young woman looking back at her looks like a beautiful, sophisticated, and sexy young lady. She turned her head to the side to checkout the luscious curls that cascaded down her back held in place with a beautiful pearl hair clip mentally appreciating the stylist hard work. Lifting her brows slightly she smiled an approving little smile. Leaning in closer to the mirror she checked out her full transition from the tomboyish teenager she was yesterday to the stylish sex Princess she sees in the mirror. Amazed by how perfectly the makeup artist painted her face with all those tiny little brushes. Her eyes sparkled like the bluest ocean and she giggled to herself at the thought that her long eyelashes looked like a million long spider legs . Blinking her eyes rapidly she also realized She didn't like how the mascara felt. It was heavy and a bit sticky tangling some of them together at the corner of her eyes. However she did like the soft pink shiny lipstick on her full lips. She also liked the soft natural blush with that glittery stuff and that bronzing stuff the makeup artist applied all over her face with that huge round brush. It left little sparkly specks on her tanned skin that twinkled in the sunlight. She made a mental note to herself to buy some of that bronzing stuff the first time she gets a chance to go shopping. Twirling around a bit to check out the beautiful blue lace dress she was wearing. She ran her hands down her sides and hoped Alex liked it. She also hoped he didn't think it was too tight because It does hug her body snugly. As she thought about Alex a dreamy little smile crept onto her lips and a bright blush colored her cheeks. He is always so handsome and proper in the way he dresses. He always looks so refined and sophisticated in those dark tailored suits and beautiful silk ties. It made her worry slightly, that Alex may not think her dress is appropriate. Quickly brushing that thought to the side knowing her mother wouldn't let her step outside the castle in something that wasn't appropriate for the occasion. She glanced down at the rest of her out fit liking what she sees . The beige high heel sandals her mother bought for her last week looked classy and elegant with the blue dress.. Suddenly she is pulled out of her thoughts by the sound of her bedroom door opening and the cheerful voice of her best friend karmen . "Lexi are you ready? Wow! You look so beautiful."Karmen gushed, as she stepped over to where Lexi was standing. Karmen walked around her in a half circle checking out the new outfit with a big grin of approval on her beautiful little face. This gave Lexi another boost of confidence,confirming that the new dress was perfect for the occasion. Karmen is a perfectionist in everything from her model behavior to her perfect grades and everything else in between. A perfect tiny person keeping Lexi and Karmen's older brother in line whenever they are in the public eye together. Karmen took a deep breath and sighed heavily, ." Lexi are you sure about this ? You know some people are going to try hurting you." She babbled worriedly ,"I have seen it on the news. Mixed species couples becoming targets of hate crimes." Lexi waved her hand dismissively at Karmen and explained "King Alexander has already put a security plan in place. I don't think we will become a victim of a hate crime. And the public will not even know I'm staying in Eddington Castle until our engagement is announced." Karmen bit her bottom lip nervously before voicing her other concerns " Lexi are you sure you can trust King Alexander? You really don't know him that well ." Lexi rolled her eyes at her worrywart friend "Karmen you know King Alexander isn't forcing me to marry him . We have decided to do this together ." Lexi placid her hands on Karmen's shoulders making her look up at her before continuing " You know he doesn't know me that well either . I'm just thinking about this as a very long date, it's not like we plan to be getting married tomorrow. You know yourself we can't date like normal people, he lives to far away. The only reason I'm going to live in his castle is to get to know him better before we get married. You know he has a Kingdom to rule so he can't come here." She explained quickly hopping to make Karmen relax and stop worrying so much about things that have yet to happen and probably won't happen. Before Karmen could come up with another reason for her not to go with Alex Lexi quickly grabbed Karmen's hand and pulled her out of the bedroom down the stairs and into to the dining room. In the dining room her mother and father along with Karmen's mother and father have already been seated. The two girls took a seat at the long table across from each other. No formal greeting has ever been needed with these close friends. Even though they aren't related Lexi calls Karmen's mother and father Aunt and Uncle and Karmen calls Lexi's parents Aunt and Uncle. Lexi looks around the dining room table and frowned when she noticed Karmen's older brother wasn't there . ,"Uncle James where is Ethan? I spoke to him last night and he said he was coming." She ask disappointedly A gentle smile bloomed on her uncle James' face and he reached over to patted her hand reassuring Lexi that Ethan hasn't forgotten about her birthday. "Don't worry he will be here soon. Ethan stopped at our house to pick up your gifts." With this information Lexi breathed a sigh of relief and absentmindedly started filling her plate with all the delicious junk food that her Aunt and Mother Monica had personally prepared for her. Every dish was one of her favorites even though Lexi's mother didn't approve of her eating junk food how could she deny Lexi this simple meal of pizza and burgers with cheese fries topped off with a chocolate shake. After all this will be the last birthday Lexi will celebrate in the castle she grew up in. The conversation was light and airy around the dining table talking about everything from current events to the weather. Even though everyone knew Lexi would be leaving in a couple of hours and they had no idea when they would get to see her again. Nobody wanted to bring up that topic afraid that it might bring an avalanche of tears from her mother and Aunt who were barely holding them back . Thankfully before the conversation got to pretentious Ethan arrived at the dining room door with the presents. " Where's the birthday girl." He shouted out from across the room making everyone turn around and look in his direction. Hearing the playful voice of her only other friend Lexi jumped to her feet dashing into his arms,just as soon as he placed her presents on the side table. Knowing that Ethan would liven up the party with his jokes and funny stories Lexi hugged him tightly and placed two smacking kisses on both his cheeks. "Stop spitting on my face." He teased as he pulled her into his arms tighter giving her a big squeeze. Lexi giggled and only responded with " Come set beside me" as she wiggled her way out of his arms and tugged on his hand leading him towards the table. After they all had a big slice of the yummy strawberry cake everyone moved to a luxurious setting room . All of Lexi's gifts had been placed on a table with a white table cloth on it . A soft chair set next to the table for Lexi to set and open all her gifts .Her family wanted to take pictures ,because this would be her last birthday party in the Castle she grew up in. She picked up the first gift reading the card out loud " To my beautiful brave daughter. Love mom" after reading the card she proceeded to open the gift. It was a beautiful vintage ruby necklace that belonged to her great grandmother . Her mother reached over and patted her knee holding back her tears, as she spoke in a low but serious tone ."Lexi dear ,your great grandmother told me this necklace has a special magic power .She told me that it has been blessed by an Angel. The necklace can keep you safe in the most dangerous situations. So please let's put it on you and don't take it off until you are completely safe in Eddington Castle." Lexi could tell her family was worried about her leaving and was concerned about her safety .She gave her mother a gentle smile, and didn't argue about wearing the vintage necklace "Okay mother please help me wear it ." Her mother quickly walked around behind her and fastened the necklace around her neck . She patted Lexi shoulder with a reminder "Now don't take this off until you feel completely safe, okay ?" " Okay mom I understand but I think you are worrying way to much ." Lexi reached up giving her mother a big hug hoping to keep the water works at bay for the remainder of the party. Picking up the next gift ,she read the card out loud "To my beautiful and courageous daughter: love dad" Lexi ripped the wrapping paper off quickly ,reaching inside a small box she brings out three books with black leather covers . Holding the books up so everyone can see she reads the title out loud "Learning Vampire Culture " holding up the next book she does the same thing "The history of Vampires "Then she picked up the last book she read the title out loud "Etiquette of the Vampire Royal Family." "Thank you daddy I'm sure these books will be useful." She said, Placing the books to the side of the chair next to her feet, and swiftly moving on to the next gift. { Please keep reading, I know the story seems kinda slow and I didn't start out with someone being unwillingly trapped in a castle or anything exciting like that but it does pick up} Bonus :Recipe of the day Honey Bun Cake 1 box yellow cake mix 2/3cup vegetable oil 1 cup sour cream 1/4cup milk 4 eggs ——————-/ Sprinkle: 1 cup light brown sugar 3 tsp ground cinnamon , mix together ———- Frosting 1 cup power sugar 2 Tbs milk + 3 Tbs butter 2 tsp vanilla mix together Directions: mix all cake ingredients together, Pour 1/2 batter in spayed 9x13 pan. Sprinkle 1/2 brown sugar mixture over t and pour rest of cake mix over it . Then sprinkle with rest of brown sugar, swirl with a butter knife. When cooled glaze with power sugar mixture
