70 Kian's Absence

Kian watched as Aylin stood up, excused herself, and hurriedly walked out of the room. Her hasty actions drew the attention of almost everyone, causing curious glances and whispers to ripple through the crowd.

They all glanced at Kian to see his expression but were disappointed when they saw that Kian's face remained impassive, giving away nothing of his thoughts. Instead, he turned to Rhea who was already at him, a question in her eyes.

'Go,' Kian's voice echoed in Rhea'a head and she rolled her eyes.

'I would go even if you didn't tell me to,' Rhea replied to him telepathically before standing up and making her way out of the hall.

Marquis Evanston cleared his throat, gaining everyone's attention. "Let's go back to our meals, please!"

The guests gradually shifted their focus back to their meals, though some still chartered away about Aylin's unladylike manner and speculated on the reason why Aylin left the hall in such a hurry.
