Chapter 5: Truth be Told

Chapter 4

"I-," Troy stood there not knowing what to say. Nothing had been revealed to him yet but he felt that whatever he decided now would change a lot.

"I will here you out." He said causing Derek to give a sigh of relief.

Daron smiled. "That's good but for now I can't reveal anything to you." He said moving closer to where Troy was.

"All I can give you are these three things."

Troy looked at him in anticipation. "First of all make sure no matter what you never die in game until your resurrection skill is unsealed.

"Wait, what resurrection skill?" Troy asked confused. "And why do you sound so creepy, I hope dying in game is not going to make me faint again."

Daron shook his head. "No, but it will kill you in real life." He said.

"Ha-ha, you're one funny guy. There's no way." Troy stopped when he saw the expression on Daron's face. "Oh, shit! But why?!" It seemed things just got worse by the minute.

"I can't say but I need you to trust me on this one." Daron continued. "I'm sure some of your skills are sealed. Don't die until they are unsealed."

"Why don't I just stop playing, then?" Troy asked hoping that option existed.

"You can but if you do everyone you will end up losing all the people you know and love."

Right now, Troy wasn't at liberty to protest since everything these people said seemed to make no sense and yet he believed every single word.

"Other people exist like us who know the secrets of this world." Daron said. "It is important for you to keep on leveling up as there will be those who are favorable towards you and others who would want to kill you."

Troy who had tried to maintain his composure was finding it difficult processing everything. Derek had not said a single word and just stood there looking at the ground. Troy almost felt bad that he still wanted revenge.

"This is the last thing and probably the most important thing. Soon you will realize that some of your powers are showing in real life. In that instance, be careful when you are around other people. A mistake can easily happen."

Troy felt he couldn't keep quiet anymore. "Why am I the one who has to suffer all these things." He said. "I mean the only special thing about me is my job, so why?" No matter how he looked at it there was no way he could live like this.

"We live like this every day so you can do it." Daron said trying to cheer troy up. "The only solace I can give you is that eventually the truth will be revealed and know that when it is everything will end soon."

Troy gave a wry smile. Unlike Derek, Troy stared up. The sun was at a very high point. Even such things as weather were extremely realistic.

After some time of silence Daron spoke. "We will leave now." He said turning around to leave. "Wait!" Troy shouted after them.

Daron turned back again. "Don't worry, this all you need for now." He said to Troy.

Troy shook his head. "That's not it." He said staring at Derek. "That bastard still hasn't paid for what he did."

[Regeneration is restoring your leg]

Troy who was sitting on the ground stared at his left leg which was slowly growing back. 'That guy was just too strong'.

He had wanted to get revenge but ended up losing a leg. "The bastard actually wanted to kill me again." He said to himself. He didn't know why but it seemed he spoke to himself a lot lately. He had made up his mind that he was going to find out the truth about why the game existed and why it related to him.

After a few minutes his leg was fully restored. 'This regeneration skill is really effective.' Troy thought slowly getting up afraid he might lose his balance and fall.

Ding!

He was startled by the unexpected interruption.

*You have a new quest

"Confirm." It was about time he got a new quest.

[Scenario quest: Truth be told]

Details: The end of Terra will commence soon and it will be necessary for the hero to be up to date with the development of things.

Requirements: Meet the 'overlord' and find out the reason why 'Terra' exists while getting stronger to fight in the upcoming battle.

Rewards: Unsealing of sealed skills, the blessing of @#$##, 50,000 coins

Applicable quest has a time limit of 32 days.

Will you accept quest?

Troy read through the quest and sighed.

"Accept." Right now it seemed that this game made decisions for him. The scenario quest only came when certain circumstances came to play. Depending on the circumstance the system gave a quest.

The overlord. He was a person that everyone who played Terra knew. He was supposedly one of the first people to start playing when the game was released two years ago.

Troy had a theory about how the game operated. It seemed there were certain players who knew what the game really was and they were definitely more than a few. It also seemed that for some people they retained their abilities from the game in real life. But why?

Troy's head hurt from trying to think about everything. Right now he had to make sure he found the overlord and got answers. He clenched his fist. Although he didn't have a lot of friends, he was going to make sure that whatever threatened the safety of the ones he had would be put to the ground.

"My master's ward is…" The tall muscular man almost dropped the expensive phone in his hands out of shock.

"But how?" He asked the person on the other end.

"Ok." He hung up and quietly placed the phone down on the desk in front of him. There was a smile plastered on his face which was not there before. There was a faint bluish glow around his body which gave a bit of light in the dark office. He looked out one of the many giant windows of the tall office complex, the tallest in the whole city.

"Very soon, a worthy opponent will arrive at my door step." He stretched out his hands as if to give someone a hug and hugged himself. "Oh, what a rush." He said still hugging himself.

The bright lights emanating from the bustling city gave a mesmerizing feel. At the very top of the same building a figure in a dark cloak smiled. "Very nice." She said looking down at the bustling city.
