30 Chapter 30: Leo/need

Later, that day.

After we sent out Kaguya, Shirogane and the girls who don't live with us, I received a message from someone.

"Hey, Nino, I'll go out for a moment. I have some business to finish."

"Oh, okay. But don't stay too late."

"Don't worry, I won't. I'm going!"

"Take care!"

I put my outdoor shoes before teleporting to a park near the dorms. It was already 10 PM so it was dark. The person who called me was in an area without any light but it was easy to find her with my aura and that the sky was clear and the moonlight was relatively bright. She was sitting on a bench and was looking at the starry sky.

"It's really beautiful right?"

"Yes. This is one of the things I love in this school, to be able to see the stars like this."

"Apparently, most of the things in this school use electricity. Thanks to that, the atmosphere in this area have next to no pollution. That's why the stars are clearly visible."

"I see…"

"Hey, Mochizuki, did you find your answer."

The one who called me here was Mochizuki Honami.

"Well, I'm not really sure…"

"Not sure? How so?"

"Uhm… it's just… I think I want to be friend with them again. I was really happy when I was with them. I want to be like that again. But… I'm scared."

Sometime, new people enter the heart while some would exit it but everyone have their own place that can't be replaced by anyone. Well, I won't argue about the lover's place since I'm the last person who should do that, well I think it each of them to be irreplaceable. But what I mean is that you're someone irreplaceable for them."

"…Really?"

"Yeah, that's what I think. Well I think you should talk to someone to get your answers."

"Eh?"

"Hey, Hoshi-chan! Over here!"

I already expected things to go like this so I called Hoshi-chan to come here after I got the message.

"Ah, Yuu-kun. Why did you call… eh, Honami?"

"Ichika-chan…"

"Well, I though she would need to speak with you. That's why I called you here."

"I see, then Honami…"

"Ichika-chan…"

The atmosphere between them was really awkward and they couldn't speak their thoughts.

"*Sigh* seriously… Hey, you two, don't you think the starry sky is really beautiful?"

That would feel like an awkward way to break the awkwardness but it should work for them.

"Yes, it is."

"It's really breathtaking. There was a time we saw it after a band practice and Shiho and Saki were also surprised. Do you remember when we saw a meteor shower in a neighborhood park?"

"Yes."

"It was the park we always played in. But it had a different atmosphere at night, and the usual path to go there felt like an adventure. Maybe that's the reason why the stars that night were so bright and beautiful."

"…"

"By the way, when Saki wanted to talk about the Leonids we saw that night, she said "Was it called the Leotards?"."

"Eh? Come on, Saki-chan. I told you so many time…"

"Also, in the middle of that night, she made up some weird constellations, like the panda and the twintails."

"Haha, yes, I remember that. Shiho even joined her and said "doesn't this one looks like a bass from here?"."

"Good… Honami, you just smiled."

"Listen, Honami. I still want to make a band with you. And I want to see you smile more, like now. I want to laugh more with you."

"Honami, let's be together again, one more time."

"… I… I… I've been so awful… Shiho was right all along. I've only cared about myself." She began to cry while saying that.

"I chose the path that would hurt me the least. I didn't want to be hated anymore. I was always scared. But I hurt everyone who cared so much about me."

"Honami…"

"Someone like me being with you… is that really alright?"

"Of course it is, Honami. Because we want to be with you."

"Hona-chan!"

"Honami!"

"Eh… Saki-chan… Shiho-chan…"

"Why are the two of you…"

"Well, isn't the starry sky really beautiful? I though the two of them should also enjoy it with us so I asked Lina to teleport them here."

"Yuu-kun… Thank you." Said Hoshi-chan.

"Saki-chan… Shiho-chan… I'm sorry! I was really anxious due to the bullying but I didn't say anything. When I though what if the same thing happen again in high school, I just distanced myself from you. I just hurt you and ran away. If I was stronger, wouldn't have been like this."

"No… I'm sorry too. I couldn't help you for such a long time. I'm sorry for not being there when you had a hard time."

"And I'm sorry that I left you alone for so long. I somehow noticed something but due nothing."

"You're all too kind. It was me who avoided you and end up hurting all of you."

"Of course we would. You're our precious friend, no matter what. I'm really sorry, my words were too harsh."

"No, Shiho-chan. You helped me to realize the truth. I was able to face it because you got angry. Thank you, Shiho-chan."

"Haha, look at this, all your eyes are so red."

"Look at yourself in the mirror first, Saki." Hoshi-chan.

"…" Shiho.

"Honami, let's make a band. We won't leave you alone anymore."

"Okay, thank you, everyone."

"Ehehe, now, we're all back together again."

"Honami, you'll have to practice hard now that you're in the band."

"Oh no, Shiho's pressuring her."

"What do you mean pressure, Saki. Of course we need to do things seriously."

"Well then, now that the band is completed, why don't we play a song together?"

"Eh? At this time? And what song would we play, Yuu?"

"Don't worry about that. Lina, use Dreamland."

As I said that, a blinding light shone from Lina and when it faded, we were inside a classroom, there was a rising sun shining with a pink light outside the window.

"Huh, where are we?" Asked Shiho

"Welcome to the Sekai! This is a dream world made with Lina's domain move, Dreamland. This is a world where everything is possible. Look over there!"

There were some instruments in the middle of the classroom.

"Ah, those are our instruments. How did they ever here?"

"I told you, everything is possible here."

There were Hoshi-chan's Fender Telecaster, Shiho's Fender American Elite Jazz Bass, Saki's Korg Kross 2, my cheap guitar Glarry GST-E and a Yamaha stage custom drums.

"Those drums, they're the same ones I have at home."

"Eh, you have drums, Honami?"

"Well yes, after we had a band practice two years ago, I bought those so that I could practice anytime."

"I see, then what about the song, Yuu?"

I took out Milly from her ball.

"Milly, Lina, do it."

The two of them joined their hands and shone before five ball of light came out of our chest and converged on their hands. After a moment a multicolored orb appeared on their hands and they have it to me.

"It's beautiful. What's this?" Asked Saki.

"This is a song orb. It contains a song made with our feeling. Let me share this with you."

Another five ball of light came out of the orb and entered our head.

"This… this song…" (Hoshi-chan)

"Whoa! This looks fun, let's play it." (Saki)

We then took out respective instruments and started playing the song.

Hoshi-chan sang as the main vocalist just like in the original while Shiho sang Miku's lines and Saki sang Shiho's.

"We played this like a song we always knew." (Hoshi-chan)

"Wow… wow wow WOW! That was awesome. It was super fun!" (Saki)

"If this song is our feeling, it could be a feeling we always knew before." (Shiho)

"Yeah, that's also what I though. It felt nostalgic, and warm." (Honami)

"Looks like this song is titled "needLe"." (Yuu)

"needLe huh? I want to treasure this song." (Hoshi-chan)

"Now that I think about it, what's the name of the band?" (Honami)

"Oh, that's right! We wanted to wait for Hona-chan to join before naming the band so now that she's here, let's choose one." (Saki)

"Saki, why are you looking at me?" (Hoshi-chan)

"I have a feeling you're good at this kind of stuff. Anyway, Yuu-chan, are you drawing something? Let me see!"

"I'll show it later. Just continue what you're doing."

"Well, Ichika-chan, do you have any idea?" (Honami)

"Uh… no… I haven't. But we might as well choose a name that fits us well." (Hoshi-chan)

"Then, what if we choose the name of a star. Like the Leonids we saw before." (Shiho)

"That's a good idea! Shiho-chan, you're so romantic." (Saki)

"And you have to be like that every time…" (Shiho)

"The Leonids (shishizaryuuseigun) huh… how do we call them in other languages?" (Saki)

"In English, it's 'Leonids' and in french 'Léonides'." (Yuu)

"Leo-nide… that sounds pretty." (Hoshi-chan)

"Cool, there's the sound 'need' in it. We need each and every one of us. That's what it sounds like." (Saki)

"Haha, that sounds a little silly but why not." (Yuu)

"That's not silly at all!" (Saki)

"Then, it's spelled… like this?" Hoshi-chan took a paper and wrote it.

" 'Leoneed' huh. Yeah, it sounds nice." (Honami)

"Ah! Why don't we add a… swish?" Saki took a pen and added something.

" 'Leo/need' how about this?"

"What's this slash?" (Shiho)

"Huhu, it's a shooting star!" (Saki)

"A shooting star… And the Leonids is a meteor shower which is made of shooting stars. It's wonderful." (Honami)

"*Sigh* Well, it might look like one of you're told so." (Shiho)

"Then, it's decided." (Hoshi-chan)

"By the way, girls, look at this."

I showed them what I was drawing. (Pic)

"Eh, isn't that… " (Saki)

"Leo/need, isn't that the design for the band's logo?" (Shiho)

"Yeah, that's it." (Yuu)

"But, Yuu-kun, didn't you start drawing before we chose the name?" (Honami)

"Well, thanks to the miracles, I already knew what you would choose." (Yuu)

"Wow, you made the slash into a real shooting star! And with a curved shape it look really cool." (Saki)

"Also, look at this, there's still another song in the orb." (Yuu)

"Eh, really?" (Hoshi-chan)

"Yeah. It looks like two songs were born at the same time. So, are you ready to perform another song?"

"""Yeah!"""

"Then, Lina, take us to the rooftop."

The scenery around us changed and we were at the rooftop.

"Wow, it's really beautiful." Honami exclaimed while looking at the colorful starry sky above us.

"Wait, Yuu, wasn't it at dawn when we were at the classroom? How did it became night suddenly?"

"Remember this is a dream world. We can make it so that each classroom has a different time of the day with different weathers. Also, if you didn't notice, it seemed to be in the middle of the day when we sang earlier."

"Oh, now that you say that, it's true. I was too absorbed by the song that I didn't care about that."

"Anyway, Yuu-chan, let's perform the song! I can't wait anymore."

Urged by Saki, I did the same thing as earlier with the orb and this time, the orb completely disappeared after it was used.

This time, I sang Luka's lines while the girls kept their ones from the game.

This song was one of my favorites vocaloid and proseka song. Also, it was due to this song that I got interested in proseka in my previous life. Hearing the Leo/need girls' voice singing this made me fall in love with this song. By the way, Shiho's voice is my favorite in the Leo/need unit.

"Order made… this reminds me that time when we decided to make a band together." Said Hoshi-chan.

"I know what you mean, Icchan. I felt something like this when I played song together with you the first time."

"Order made and needLe, I really love those songs."

"Yeah, and I know have a good feeling about the Pokemon musicals. I'm sure we'll Ace it."

"Then, Shiho-chan, could you be more lenient on us?"

"What are you saying, Saki? We need to always be serious. That's the key for our victory."

Afterwards, we went out of the dream world and I sent the girls back to the dorms before going back to the mansion with Shiho.

"Yuu, thank you for everything. Now, the four of us are now back to how we were before. It's all thanks to you."

"Well, I actually think something like this would have happened sooner or later. Also, I would do anything for those I care so I'm happy for helping you."

"Yuu, I love you. As a thank you, I'll spoil you to your heart's content tonight."

"I can't wait for it."

This chapter was mostly based on the project Sekai games. I used the Sekai setting along with the "untitled" song that I made into the song orb.
