Chapter 10 : we gotta keep moveing

<p>Today was the day, if i stayed longer i could be at risk of the guards not letting me go out of the city like in the game so i decided a week ago to schedual a battle for the gym and takeing more battles than usual and maneged to make 2600$ that after a quick deduction i still got me 1500$ making me a total of 3155$ <br/><br/> 'i still need to buy the food for travel but overall im way better than when i started'<br/><br/> Today was the day so like the last time, i sat in a chair waiting for my name to be called<br/><br/> 'one more time, what do i know that would be usefull in this gym?<br/><br/>1) sabrina uses pokemon like : Natu,Drowzee,staryu, abra or kadabra and psyduck or golduck.<br/><br/>2) she doesn't talk, so even if you can challenge her at low levels its not recommended since most trainers still talk with their pokemon in their early journey<br/><br/>3) multiple psychics said that she talks with her pokemon through her mind, so if i had an dark type i could potencialy disrrupt the connection, not really usefull right now but still something to consider in the future<br/><br/>4) even if there's no proof of this happening before it's possible, when i searched on my phone i found that psychics in the police are used to just take the information out of criminals so her reading my mind its a possibility .<br/><br/>My name was called and i started walking to the arena, i tried to calm my nerves with deep breaths but it was useless and then i heard the presanter<br/><br/> "Coming from celadon city he came for his second badge and he better prepare himself for the battle thats coming, he is Paul Brightburn!"<br/><br/> this time i didn't bother to look at the cameras, i was directly looking at sabrina who was looking back at me<br/><br/>"the battle will be a 6 vs 3 are both trainers ready?"<br/><br/> we both nodded and sabrina launched his pokeball with his powers and an abra appeared<br/><br/> 'way to show off... im actually jealous'<br/><br/>"ITS SHOWTIME go slowpoke " <br/><br/>As always it started with slowpoke staying still enough for abra to throw a confusion which he countered with a water gun.<br/>When he looked back to where the abra was he had teleported.<br/><br/>'i guess there's gotta be a change of plans here' <br/><br/>"Slowpoke we don't need power, we need to overwhelm them"<br/><br/>so when he got hit by the confusion he was already in the charge of a new move, and at the same time the abra threw another confusion while slowpoke answerd with 6 water pulse in his general direccion only for abra to teleport again appearing in the air but this time, it was struck with one of the multiple pulses that were launched and he went down leaving him vulnerable to a single water gun that ended the fight <br/><br/>'1 down 2 to go' <br/><br/>slowpoke was already chargeing his next set of water pulse when natu came out from the pokeball and as soon as it got out he launched a flash that forced me and slowpoke to close our eyes.<br/> slowpoke threw the water pulse as a reflex in a straight line only for the natu to teleport right beside slowpoke and start pecking him.<br/><br/> By the time slowpoke turned he already left again, the battle kept going like this for a few minutes, the flash would let slowpoke blind and he would teleport so we tried to yawn makeing him sleep and get a single water gun before the natu woke up <br/><br/> 'it has early bird, at this pace slowpoke would faint first and slowpoke is almost blind at this point'<br/><br/> so we went with another yawn and this time slowpoke used slack off while natu was sleeping and although it didn't last long it allowed for a decent amount of healing <br/><br/>"slowpoke return, hoothoot prepare for battle"<br/><br/> As soon as hoothoot came out i shouted my first order<br/><br/>"We are going dark"<br/><br/>Hoothoot didn't stopped looking at natu but i knew he got my message.<br/><br/>'there's more than one way to cut a psychic connection' <br/><br/>I put my ear plugs as fast as i could just in time for the start of the uproar, suddenly a alakazam appeared in the borders of my sight and saw how he put a light screen that was indeed needed because when the uproar started and it made sabrina covered her ears at the same time that natu stood still, in pain and not knowing what to do due to the lack of imput that came from sabrina he went with what usually works for him and used flash<br/><br/>'ahh the magic of real life, here moves that require precision are affected by vision, but sound isn't affected by vision, it travels everywhere so when they become blind i trained them to use moves that affect the area'<br/><br/>When sabrina recovered from the shock and looked up natu was on the ground knocked out and she returned him<br/><br/>'2 down 1 left' <br/><br/>"I see, you are one of those, wait a minute"<br/><br/>'why do i feel like i won't like this'<br/><br/>Sabrina took the third pokeball on his belt and put it on a box only to take another one releasing kadabra.<br/><br/>As soon as kadabra came to the field he teleported beside hoothoot and used what i think was a psybeam at point blank making hoothoot go down, takeing minimal damage of the uproar before i returned hoothoot <br/><br/> 'you did well hoothoot let slowpoke finish what you started'<br/><br/> "ITS TIME FOR THE SHOW TO CONTINUE ONCE MORE go slowpoke"<br/><br/>when slowpoke came to the field he was compleatly healed as if nothing ever happened to him, when i got hoothoot and started battleing i discovered that the abillity of slowpoke was regenrator<br/><br/>'i know the yawn trick wont work twice so thats out but we still have a few things to work with' <br/><br/>I couldn't help but smile before the battle continued.<br/><br/>while slowpoke was charging his water pulse kadabra teleported and launched a psybeam that sended slowpoke flying but even then he didn't release the water pulse so when kadabra disappeared again only to appear in the other side of the field slowpoke launched his water pulse and used his telekinesis to make him slow down enough to get hit by it and disoriented him <br/><br/>'confusion! now is my chance'<br/><br/>" slowpoke, time to go all out" <br/><br/>'9' <br/><br/>slowpoke appeared in front of kadabra and launched a water gun followed by a psychic makeing kadabra wake up teleporting away as soon as tha attack ended sending a psychic of his own<br/><br/>'8' <br/><br/>slowpoke dodged and launched a quick water gun that struck kadabra in the back only to dissapear himself and appear in front of slowpoke and use a psycho cut <br/><br/>'7' <br/><br/>the direct attack forced slowpoke to teleport before takeing any damage and i noticed a slight bending on kadabra's spoon.<br/><br/> As soon as slowpoke finished charging his water gun and released it kadabra dodged only to then appear in front of slowpoke and used a psycho cut again hitting him in the face<br/><br/>'he used disable in slowpoke, thats why he attacked with a move looking at him, that way he could make sure his next move would be teleport, if we hang on enough teleport would be back but i don't know if slowpoke can' <br/><br/>"Slowpoke, the spoon is the trigger!"<br/><br/>after that slowpoke recived 2 psybeam and then he looked back to where he knew kadabra would be and laucnched a series of water pulse of which only 2 hitted and kadabra was desoriented again giving him some breathing room so slwopoke decided to use slack off while kadabra recovered quickly and launched another psybeam at his face only to hit air<br/><br/>'6' <br/><br/>and recive a psychic on the back 'teleport is back in gear' <br/><br/>and this time slowpoke was looking decent while kadabra looked worn out <br/><br/> 'the battle is getting to an end'<br/><br/> so when kadabra dissapeared slowpoke went to other side of the arena without the need to look releasing a very weak but fast water gun at the same time that i saw kadabra use disable if the movement of his spoon was any indication<br/><br/>'5'<br/><br/><br/> he started charging and the kadabra dissapered again<br/><br/>Something i discoverd while battling is that teleport is a key part of slowpoke's moveset, everytime it got disabled we would only get two more uses before they used disable again and lost fue to the damage taken,to counter this, slowpoke would choose a move of fast release to use as soon as he teleported so the move disabled was always the one that came after teleport, the problem with this is that unlike in the games here disable works in a time frame instead of an amount of moves used so we had to end this battle quick<br/><br/>'4' <br/><br/>Unlike last time slowpoke started dissapearing every time kadabra left his sight instead of waiting<br/><br/>'3' , <br/><br/>and it was ready this time kadabra didn't move meaning he probably ran out of energy<br/><br/> '2' <br/><br/>this time it was slowpoke who dissapeared and reappeared right in front of kadabra only for kadabra to smile and then teleport away.<br/><br/>I couldn't hold back my smile<br/><br/>'it's not water gun this time'<br/><br/> Slowpoke smiled and launched about 30 water pulse in all directions except that they didn't leave slowpoke's side<br/><br/>something curious is that due to my fail trying to do a rotatory water gun i discovered that what i lacked was a way to hold it together so the the move doesn't fall apart, this is where telekinesis comes in the equation, water pulse works similar to bubble but with more concistency making the water constantly run in a circle like a wheel so, when slowpoke trains his telekinesis and accelereates the speed of the water wheel he maneged to keep them all close to him and used them as a shield that would stop most attacks and be used as an offensive tool to anyone dumb enough to attack with physical moves.<br/><br/>'1' <br/><br/>Slowpoke dissapeared and appeared in the cealing of the gym and started falling getting faster every second and looking like he was gonna headbutt the ground being nowhere near kadabra.<br/><br/>Another thing that i discovered while training<br/>Is that teleport mantains all the momentum that the user had previously meaning that it would never help you if you started falling of a plane due to the momentum you would gain but it also means...<br/><br/>'0'<br/><br/>As soon as slowpoke got close to the ground he dissapeared only to be a centimeters of kadabra's face being hit by the water shield bursting the water ring followed by a headbutt of slowpoke before he could even react sending them straight to the ground.<br/><br/>It also means that you could get an attack at a speed that would be very hard to react and would pack quite a punch, or in this case headbutt.<br/><br/>When the battle ended slowpoke walked at me and i walked at him and gave him a oran berry while sabrina started walking to where i was so i looked at her<br/><br/>"you knew how to manuver around my psychic types and that slowpoke of yours sure knows how to move for being a slow pokemon so congratulations in getting your second badge and i wish you luck, in the recption you will be given the TM for psychic although your slowpoke knows how to use it pretty well so you can always sell it and get a good amount of money so enjoy it"<br/><br/>With a shake of hands i left with the new badge and TM in my bag i walked back to the pokecenter and this time no one asked for my autograph so it was a good day.<br/><br/>While waiting for my pokemon to heal i started looking on my phone the price of the Psychic and found it costed 30000$!<br/><br/>'if i sell this i could buy kings rock in less than a day and all that would be left would be to find a shellder' <br/><br/>but i saved that thought and a new one came<br/><br/> 'or, i could use it as a bargaining chip, and i know someone that im sure has the money and ego to bet for it' <br/><br/>and with that thought my next move had been decided so i looked at my phone and searched when did the s.s anne moved and discovered that it would take place in 3 weeks so i would leave tomorrow morning, i had a week and a half of travel ahead of me so i had to prepare but first a celebration was a must so we went to the coffee shop that we liked and ordered an ice cream ,tea and a cold coffee and then went to the market where i bought 855$ worth of food and a pokeball leaving me at 2100$ <br/>i didnt need that extra 55$ worth of food but i like more round numbers <br/><br/>'those extra 11 berrys could be usefull so i dont mind, i don't wanna repeat the hoothoot incident' <br/><br/>when we went back to the pokecenter and back to my room we went to sleep as soon as we got to our bed and when i woke up hoothoot was stareing at me with those red eyes reflecting the moonlight<br/><br/> 'after so many weeks wakeing up to this same view i grew used to it' <br/><br/>looking at my phone it was 2 am so i decided to take a shower and when i got out slowpoke was yawning <br/><br/>'it seems he just woke up' <br/><br/>i gave them a few berrys and then went down and prepared to leave and the nurse was the only one in the reception <br/><br/>"you are leaving?"<br/><br/>"yes"<br/><br/>"it was nice knowing you, take care"<br/><br/> with a nod i left the keys in his hands and went out of the door to find it was cold outside so i decided to take my jacket and put it on and hoothoot jumped right in while slowpoke didn't seem to mind, and just like that, we started walking to the exit of the city.<br/><br/>This was gonna be a long walk</p>
