Three minutes later, after inspecting each three pokeballs on the desk, Kotonoha finally made her decision.
Kotonoha: "Then I choose this Pokémon, the Ghosteam."
Professor Oak: "Ooohhh, Ghosteam, the Dual Type Water and Ghost Pokémon. Good Choice."
She picked up the Pokeball and registered it on her PokeGear with the help of Jovanna and Professor Oak.
Kotonoha then make a nod and said her thanks to Professor Oak and Jovanna who have helped her while looking at her PokeGear screen together with Jovanna.

On the PokeGear, the miniaturised body of Ghosteam is displayed at the bottom screen, along with the detailed information about the Pokémon.
Ghosteam is a Pokemon whose body is entirely made from water vapor, making normal attacks have no effects on it, similar to a ghost.
The water vapour took on a humanoid shape, with two legs and two hands that each have a separated fists and spiky shape on the shoulders.
On what makes out the shape of her "face", two dots of clear white vapour makes out the "eye" of the Pokémon.

Professor Oak: "Ghosteam is a good choice as ghost type won't be damaged by any normal moves that the Pokémon usually started on their early levels. But be careful as it only knows the move Lick and Leer for now. And as Lick is a Ghost type move, it also won't have any effects to Normal Type Pokémons that have quite a lot of number around here."
Looking at the Pokémon move list, Jovanna can't help but make a retort: "Huh? So it means she must immediately run away if she met any Normal type Pokémon such as Pidgey, Spearow, Patrat, Sentret, Zigzagoon and Rattata? I think it is all the pokemon that exists around here? What kind of Pokémon left around here that she can fight then?"
Professor Oak: "I think the only Pokémon she can fight from this town to the next are Oddish. And they only come out at night and evening, too. Though if she is lucky she may found some Bug Pokémon like Caterpie or Weedle on the trees though. Or if she can find a river or any kind of water reservoir along the way, she may be able to found a Magikarp or a Poliwag."
Kotonoha: .... ("So, is this good, or is this bad?")
Gary: *quickly snatched one of the remaining two Pokeballs from the desk* "Ha! A Gloomy Pokémon that is a match for such a gloomy girl like you. I choose this Bablav, a Fire Type Pokémon with Flame Body as my starter!" (I am such a Genius, now Jovanna have a Grass Type Pokémon as his only choice, hue he he he he, I can't wait to challenge and humiliate him soon.)
Jovanna calmly took the remaining pokeball in the desk.
Scanning the pokeball with his PokeGear, Jovanna registered the Pokémon inside on his Trainer ID Card.
A message prompt then appeared on his PokeGear screen.
[You have registered a Wooxie as your Pokémon. Do you want to gives her a nickname?]
[Yes] [No]
Of course I would pick yes. From now on, your name is Shion.
As Jovanna typed in the name and pressed enter, the Pokémon registration then completed.

Just like Kotonoha, after the registration procedure is completed, the miniaturised body of Wooxie is displayed at the bottom screen of the PokeGear, along with the detailed information about the Pokémon.
Wooxie is a Pokémon with appears like a tree stump with a single green leaf on top of its wooden head, a pair of white wings on its side, four stubby legs and a tail like appendage on her back.
In the middle of her trunk-like body, there is a hole that is filled with utter darkness with a pair of bright yellow eyes shining within, giving it a little mysterious appearance.
Over all, that make her looks like a little cavalier made from a single hollowed tree stump with angelic white wings on her left and right side plus a single leaf on her head which looks like a feather on a knight's helmet.

Hmm.... Not bad, this Pokémon have a good HP, Attack, and Defense compared to Kotonoha's Pokémon which have more points on her Speed, Special Attack and Special Defense Stat.
I wonder what Gary's starter Pokémon is good at?

A little bit trivia for you, a pair of them, actually:
1. Kasumi, Kotonoha Katsura's first Pokémon's name means "mist". And Ghosteam is a Water Ghost Pokémon whose body is completely made of water steam similar to mist which is made from condensed water vapour.
2. In Japanese language, the flower 'Aster tataricus' is also known with the name "Shion". The flower has a meaning in Hanakotoba (a Japanese version of the language of flowers) which corresponds to "I won't forget you." Funnily, there is another flower called Myosotis in Boraginaceae family which are also called as "forget-me-not" in English. Different languages, different flowers, same meaning 😎💐🍻
