72 PWA 72 Collaboration Move

As the Gust collided with the Light Screen, I gave a nod to Kotonoha, it's time to try out our newest combination move!

And no, it's not a move made by combining 2 moves executed by a Pokémon.

But a move made from the combination of a move from 2 Pokémons!

"Kasumi, use Sand Tomb on Gust!"

""What!?""

A series of questioning cries can be heard from the opposite side of the battle arena, the twins are clearly puzzled at the choice of attack from my bombastic girlfriend.

"Ghos Steam~!!!!!" Kasumi seems so excited as she finally got a chance to try out her new toy, I mean, move.

Pi pi pidgey~!!!" The Pidgey also seems exhilarated, she flapped her wings with even more frenzy to wind up an even stronger Gust.

"Spinarak, use String Shot on that bird!" Karin wanted to bind Phinia with her Spinarak String Shot.

But the Sand Tomb build up by Kasumi is already washing over, making a wall of sand that blocked up the string shot from the yellow green spider as the tsunami of sand make its way toward the Gust created by Phinia.

The two moves combined, the Sand Tomb enforced the raw power of the Gust, the fusion of sand and wind ravaged the light screen before it swallowed the Spinarak and mercilessly buffeted him.

I named this move Dust Gust!

I actually wanted to call it Dust Tornado but I want to save that name for when Phinia learned an even more powerful move Hurricane or maybe the Dragon type move Twister.

This move combination is something that I have just cooked up when I am trying to bypass the obvious flaw on using a powerful move combination: the need for a Pokémon to rest for a while after using 2 or more moves simultaneously similar to when they are using a Hyper Beam or Giga Impact.

I then think, instead of making a Pokémon combining two moves as one, why don't I make two Pokémons combine their moves in a collaborative attack?

Finally, after some trial and error from yesterday afternoon until today's morning, we managed to train our Pokémon to combine their moves with each other.

One of them is the Dust Gust.

This move needs a little calculation to place where the Sand Tomb should be coming from and the direction of which the little tornado made up from Gust spinning.

If the Gust is spinning clockwise, you should throw the Sand Tomb in the mix from the left side behind the tornado.

And if the Gust is spinning counter clockwise, you must send the Sand Tomb to fuse with the tornado from the right side behind it.

Do that correctly and the Gust will be empowered by Sand Tomb to buffet any Pokémon misfortunate enough to be swallowed in it with a double dose of a Flying and a Ground type attacks.

But do it wrong and the move combination will fail as the Sand Tomb and the Gust would erase each other instead due to spinning or coming from the opposite direction.

Now, if only Kasumi have a Rock Tomb instead of Sand Tomb, that would be rocks!

Imagining a tornado mixed up with pieces of rocks inside, dealing both Flying type and Rock type damage that each are Super Effective against the Dual type Poison and Bug Pokémon, that would be a Double Trouble for them!

😆⚔️🍻

Oh oh, and imagine if later in the future, I have a Pokémon with Twister and Kotonoha have a Pokémon with Blizzard, combining both the Dragon and Ice type moves would make a Draconic Freezing Typhoon that will become a Nightmare for Dragon type Pokémons.

Well, for now I already have Fairy Wind learned by Shion that can be buffed up with Phinia's Gust to make a Sylph Cyclone that in my calculation would be enough to one hit KO any Dragon Pokémon around their level.

Unfortunately, I have never found any wild Dragon type Pokémon nor Trainer with a Dragon type Pokémon so far, so I can't test it.

Then again, if we met any in the Tag Team Tournament, we can't make the move Combination as it is either my Shion who have Fairy Wind or my Phinia who have learned Gust while Kasumi have neither.

Sigh..... When will Kotonoha found a Pokémon that can strikes her fancy, she need to have at least two or three Pokémons in her possession to make some more variation in our strategy.

Moving on from my idle thought that last no longer than some seconds, Phinia and Kasumi is already cooking up another Dust Gust for the Ledyba that is left alone in the battle arena, only for Karen to withdraw her Pokémon back inside the pokeball and forfeiting the duel since she can't see how her Pokémon could possibly win.

The fourth round ended with our win!

After that is the fifth and the final round, after 15 minutes of break.

And our opponents for the finale is.....

*Drum roll* Badum tesss~!

It is the first non-human enemies we have, and there are even a pair of them at once!

"Finally, for The Final Round of today's Tag Team Duel Tournament, we are now having both the winners of the previous Tournaments. The Couple Jovanna and Kotonoha on the blue side, and the Cat and Rat Duo Jom and Terry on the red side!!!!!" The announcer speaks with incredible excitement that spread around to the audience as they all gave us a loud cheers as me, Kotonoha and our opponents entered the Battle Arena.

Standing on the opposite side of us, is a pair of a blue furred cat man whose name is Jom and an orange brown colored mouse man named Terry.

A blue cat, a brown rat, one is named Jom and the other one is named Terry.

It take all that I have to not spurted out the name of a certain cartoon franchise featuring a cat and a mouse with similar name.

They really look very similar to their cartoon counterparts, except that Terry is a bipedal mouse with the height as tall as a kindergarten kid, around half of Jom's height whose height is around the same as an average young adult man.

"Go, Shion, it's your time to shine!" I sent out my Wood/Fairy Pokémon to the Battle Arena.

"Kasumi, let's do our best again." Kotonoha also sent out her only Pokémon along with me.

Meanwhile the cat and rat pair Jom and Terry speechlessly sent their respective Pokémons with encouraging smiles on their faces.

Huh? Just like their cartoon counterparts, they also seems to be not speaking too much but still can communicate effectively with their expression and body language?

The cat man Jom sent out a Meowth.

As for Terry, at first I thought that he will sent out a Rattata to complete the cat and mouse pairing but what he sent out is a Raticate.

Oh Mai Mew, no wonder they are also the winners of the previous tournament, Raticate is at least on level 20 in game, and none of the Pokémon that I have seen so far seems to have reached a level that high.

And I believe that the Meowth also have similar strength to the Raticate so it should also be on level 20 or above if this is a game.

I didn't waste too much time in my thought as my hand immediately go to my pocket to reach for my Pokédex and take it out to scan the Pokémons.

🐈💰

[Meowth, the Scratch Cat Pokémon, is a Normal type Pokémon.]

[Meowth is fascinated by round, shiny and sparkling objects, especially gold coins. It can't stop playing with them until it tires and falls asleep. Meowth seems to be more active at night as it usually laze around and took a nap all day while they wander around the streets on a nightly basis to look for dropped coins on the way. Meowth can withdraws its sharp claws into its paws to slinkily sneak around without making any noise from its footsteps. If you are visiting a junkyard, you may catch sight of a Meowth having an intense fight with a Murkrow over the possession of the shiny objects that they have found.]

[ ] Author's Note [ ]

If we follow the tradition of the starter Pokémons in games, all Starter Pokémon are part of a three stage evolutionary lines, triggering their first evolution between Level 14-18, and second evolution at Level 30-36. For the starter Pokémons in this novel, if we convert this to a game then Wooxie, Bablav and Ghosteam will evolve first at level 18 and the second time at level 36.
