Black Market Auction! Part-4/4

The auctioneer explained its talent, health condition, Etc to everyone. He also explained that it was a pokemon with a rare condition. This would cause discoloration of the skin or body in general.

It was known as shiny pokemon or a Pokemon shine to its skin. He also told them that this didn't lower its stat or boost them, it was just an Onix with a different tone to its body.

Onix gazed around the room, its body could barely move due to it being chained.

"The starting bid will be ₱300,000, you may bid."

"₱350,000!"

"₱400,000!"

"₱450,000!"

"₱480,000!"

"₱520,000!"

The price, of course, continued to rise quickly. To most people, this pokemon was interesting in a sense or mental state sense for a collector.

Gan was slightly worried because of those big shots in those V.I.P. rooms. They seemed interested in Onix due to its complexion.

Gan could only watch on and scout the limits of their interest in this Pokemon. As time passed, it kept rising until it reached ₱2,000,000, but Gan wasn't surprised by this.

There was no way most people were going to let this go. This began to worry Gan, would he have to resort to robbing the winner?

However, the bidding war started to slow down around 3.2 million.

"3.4 million!" Gan said.

Another man challenged Gan. By this point, he was the only one going against him.

"Good, sir. How about giving me a bit of face and letting me purchase this Onix." The man's voice could be heard through his com.

"No." Gan didn't start a conversation about it and gave a simple answer. How much was this guy's face, why should he care?!

"Sir, I advise you to rethink your decision, lest, you run into unnecessary trouble." The man's tone was full of threat.

This was a different man, who loved collecting pokemon. Unfortunately, he didn't bring enough funds and wanted to gather money now.

He was merely delaying for time.

"Aren't you going to start the countdown? I'm sorta in a hurry, so please start." Gan ignored the man. The room went silent for about ten seconds before the auctioneer spoke up.

"Ah, right! 3.4 million going once, going twice, sold to the guest in room six!" The auctioneer sighed and said.

He was hoping that the price would rise.

"Damn it! I really wanted that pokemon! Fella in room six, I hope you know what you're doing!" This basically knew who was who in every room, but he had no idea who was in room six.

The man didn't believe he was someone important.

"....." Gan didn't reply.

"Go monitor room six! We'll ambush him after the auction is over. From what I can see, he has bought many items, we'll take them all!" The man's expression contorted into something sinister and menacing.

"Right, boss, we'll be sure to deal with this lowly character." The two large men stood up and immediately left the room.

"I'll see just what type of character you are!" This person was blatantly going against him. How could he allow someone like that to get away?

In three minutes flat, the exchange people were at his door and Gan paid the fee. Every Pokemon Gan received so far was encapsulated in a regular Pokeball.

"I got it! I have a shiny Pokemon!" Gan was elated.

It was hard to find a shiny, but Onix was a good shiny that actually evolved into a useful pokemon. Not only that, its shiny form looked amazing compared to some shiny that looked horrible or didn't change much from their standard forms.

Afterward, they proceeded with the auction. There weren't many Pokemon he was interested in, but he was waiting for another Pokemon to appear.

This was the last Pokemon he wanted from this auction. Time pressed on and many Pokemon were auctioned off, some from Kanto, Johto, and rarely—Hoenn.

Unfortunately, these Hoenn Pokemon weren't very rare when he thought about their stats and game rarity. They were things such as Wingull, Zigzagoon, etc. Pokemon you would see at the starting point of the game.

However, they were rare here.

"Next, we're auctioning off the last Pokemon." As the auctioneer was saying this, a smaller cage arouse out of the stage.

"It's finally here." Gan stared at the pokemon, it was a Totodile.

Its talent wasn't high, with it being 2 stars and at level 10. However, it was still a rare pokemon Gan knew he would have trouble finding.

Gan eventually won the little guy by paying ₱720,000.

"Now, we'll be Auction off Pokemon eggs found in the Johto and the Hoenn region. There will be a total of three of them for the conclusion of this auction."

The auctioneer went on the explain that he didn't know what was inside these eggs. So it might be risky; they also couldn't tell what the talents were. These eggs were brought in at the last minute, but it didn't matter as the machine couldn't read egg talents.

At least the old models they had couldn't.

By this point, the number of people had gone down drastically. Kadabra had even told Gan that there were more people watching this room.

Gan wasn't surprised by this, there were simply too many bad people in this world. Those that wanted to suppress you with their background if they could.

Gan didn't humor these types of people.

The eggs were brought on stage all at once, but they were covered by cloths. This process was slow, thus, they were especially careful while doing this.

In the next moment, all three eggs were revealed.

Gan's eyes widened as one immediately stood out to him. Those patterns on the egg were too familiar, but he made sure to evaluate each egg.

Unlike those old machines that couldn't read talent on eggs, Gan could see the talent on eggs perfectly.

The egg that caught Gan's attention had the same exact patterns as a Larvitar. Unfortunately, its talent was only that of a 2-star Pokemon.

"There's no doubt that's a Larvitar egg!" Gan was so sure of it. It was a Pseudo-Legendary Pokemon—anyone would recognize such iconic patterns.

"As for these other two, they're a little hard to distinguish. However, one of them has 4 stars so it's something I have to obtain regardless."

The 2-star egg other than the Larvitar egg was baby blue with cloud puffs on each side. As for the 4-star egg, it had a rough rocky-looking top surface but was baby blue underneath.

He could not guess what any of these two Pokemon were. In any case, Gan wanted two out of the three eggs—that was for sure.

Things went smoother than Gan hoped. Not many people were willing to risk getting poor Pokemon. Gan was able to buy the 4-star egg easily, but there was a lot of resistance when he was trying to get the Larvitar egg.

This guy seemed to know what Pokemon was in this particular egg. Much to Gan's surprise, the bid for the egg bypassed the millionth mark.

"This bastard definitely knows what Pokemon is inside this egg!" Gan felt annoyed beyond words, but this didn't stop him from bidding and increasing the price.

By this point, it was just Gan and this unknown man bidding. People had already taken this time to leave the auction area. After all, this was the last item that need to be auctioned off.

The mustache man frowned. He was certain that the man in room six knew what Pokemon was in this egg.

His funds were running low, perhaps he could make some sort of trade with the man in room six. Thus, he decided to concede because his funds weren't that great.

In the end, Gan ended up buying the egg for a whopping 3.9 million Pokedollars! Gan also bought the 4-star egg for ₱350,000.

Gan sighed but was also relieved because he had way more funds prior to coming here. This time, Luke and Jayce brought him both eggs.

"Hahaha, you really didn't disappoint me. A top buyer you are, you're definitely worthy of that V.I.P. card." Luke smiled as his eye formed into crescents.

"You had so many good things, how could I not pass them up?" Gan nodded before paying and receiving both eggs.

"Glad to have you, we've made so much money today, haha, what an auction!" Luke was so elated.

"Question. This egg here, do you know where it was found?" He pointed toward the strange 4-star egg.

Gan wanted some type of hint, perhaps he might be able to figure out what Pokemon it was.

"Hmm, this egg. I don't know, but I can speak to the guy who brought it to this auction." Luke talked a bit more before leaving. He said he'd contact Gan soon about this, so he told him to wait a bit.

"You may have a problem, there seemed to be some troublemakers waiting for you. They can't attack you in this black market area or in our territory, but they will approach and try to threaten you."

Jayce informed him of the 'hidden' danger lurking outside.

"Oh, thanks for telling me. I have something for that." Gan smiled and said. He didn't seem worried about these people at all.

"Alright, but still be careful." Jayce nodded seriously before exiting the room.

Gan placed all of his winning into his storage space—where they would be safe.

"What a satisfactory day, I managed to get so much from this auction." Gan sat on the couch filled with satisfaction.

Gan waited in the room for a while, but the number of people outside actually continued to increase. They were all waiting to confront Gan the minute he left the room.

Kadabra told him that there were a lot of hostiles, but there were also staff members. They were apparently here to diffuse the situation if it got serious.

Right then, Gan received a call from the auction room phone. He picked it up, knowing who it was going to be.

"That man stated that he found the egg in Hoenn. It's from route 119."

"Route 119?" Gan thought for a moment before he was enlightened. His eyes widened and so did the smile on his face.

He knew what Pokemon this was!
