AI words writtern in Bold

Author forewarning for new readers:

1) After a few chapters of introducing his home, my Mc will go to participate in the main Indigo League.

2) Frankly speaking, this Fanfic requires Pokemon Series knowledge to have a comfortable reading.

3) The initial chapter are crucial for world building and explaining the mechanics of the pokemon battling. So, bear with me until my Mc jumps into the pokemon Journey.

--------------------------------------

COMPULSORY NOTE: I kept the initial battles to be fitting the strength and endurance of the newbie Pokémon, with time the difficulty and length of battles will progress. It's just I can't imagine a 2000 words worth pokemon battle with a weedle or caterpie.

But don't worry, each gym battle will signify a rapid climb in difficulty of pokemon battle for Archer.

----Kanto Countryside------

-----Village of plains-----

Hey there guys, I'm Archer. I am a kid born with black hair and brown complexion in Village of plains, near Berry town.

It took me some time, but I roughly identify it to be the countryside of Kanto. The key word being roughly, because the village I reside in used to belong to the country of Bharatsa. A small peninsular country that joined the Indigo Pokémon League, after witnessing the rapid development of the continent under Oak's leadership.

The point is that Bharatsa itself was an old country that changed alliance between Kanto and Johto during the times of war depending on its own interests. Perhaps due to that, the local pokemon seems to be a mix of both Kanto and Johto pokedex from the games.

Yep, the games. By now, you must have gotten an idea that I am reincarnated kid.

I'm about 6 years old now, but the most glaring thing, other than Pokémon is that I'm way tougher than I ever was in my previous life. I mean, seriously durable.

Turns out, in this Pokémon world, humans are a bit sturdier and have higher limits.

It's all because of Pokémon training and bonds. No, it's not some mystic nonsense. It's a scientifically proven fact, thanks to Dr. Samuel Oak. He's got multiple degrees, not just in Pokémon studies but also in Human studies, and he's the one who established the whole new subject of Pokémon-human relations.

At least I know who the students are going to curse in this world. The guy literally started a whole new field of study. It's deep and tough; you can think of it like a new study as significant as math or physics, but it's interlinked with all of them.

[Knowledge point: After generations of bonding with Pokémon, humans' limits have increased. Especially famous families like the Blackthorn Clan in Johto or the Waterflowers in Cerulean, who focus on specific types, seem to gain concentrated benefits. But at the same time, they acquire traits too.

For example, Blackthorn members seem to share a distaste for the Clefairy line or Azumarill line with their Dragon Pokémon, but to a mild extent. The distaste here is only a bad first impression.]

My trusty AI –It my greatest advantage, second only to the advantage possessing my past life memories.

It's just a bit hard to digest my situation sometimes. You see except for my appearance, everything I knew changed in this life. Even, my achievement being a doctor that filled me with pride is not that useful here.

In fact, I'm decades behind the latest findings and my knowledge is literally not useful in most treatment options. But nonetheless, I at least don't need to start from scratch again. And with my AI, I am rapidly catching up. These knowledge points at the required times are just one of the ways it is useful.

Strolling down the street from the library, I caught sight of a Pokémon battle unfolding nearby. A Beedrill was locked in combat with a Butterfree.

I recognized the trainers to be part of the Bees- 10-year-old Sam, Trainer of Beedrill and his opponent is part of the Frees- Jon, Trainer of Butterfree.

To give you some context- I need to actually explain the current conditions of Bharatsa. Despite being joining Kanto; it didn't lose its identity. Just by the sheer virtue of its long existence.

It could be considered this world's equivalent of Indus Civilization, spanning all the way from Bronze age.

As result, the population in Bharatsa is second highest in the world, just behind the Kingdom of Rota,

Not just that. Let me give you the divergent point of Bharatsa when compared to other pokemon countries. In other places, the nobility who managed to train Pokemon had forbidden other people from acquiring pokemon.

In Bharatsa, the nobility simply started encouraging all their relatives to pick up pokemon for some reason. By all their relatives, I mean even cousins were given help to acquiring them.

My thoughts on it are that the king back then was smart enough to see the benefits of everyone having Pokémon. So, he encouraged it wanting the fastest result using the selfishness of humans.

His concept that is the same one that current Pokemon League is built around. But with the pokeball invention, it become easier for them to implent it without bias.

Now, everyone in Bharatsa somehow has a clan lineage vine back to a specific pokemon or Type. Unfortunately, this sparked a form of rivalries among the society of Bharatsa as a whole.

The battle going is one such example. A representation of Bees and Frees.

===JON VS SAM===

Jon, with a confident grin, commanded his Butterfree to take the lead. "Butterfree, initiate with Sleep Powder!"

The elegant butterfly Pokémon responded, fluttering its wings to release a gentle cascade of powdery scales. The aim of the move was obvious from the name, it was to lull Sam's Beedrill into a slumber and gain an early advantage.

However, Sam wasn't one to be easily caught off guard. He always been sharp in mind from my observations of him.

With a sharp command, he directed his Beedrill to evade the Sleep Powder with nimble agility. "Beedrill, dodge above the Butterfree, make sure to use the chance to counter with Poison Jab!"

The aggressive bee Pokémon zipped through the air, avoiding the sleep-inducing particles and begin charging his drill with venom for the counterattack.

But I could see that both pokemon were inexperienced from their time taken to charge the moves or the delay/exhaustion from using them. Jon was sharp to use that.

Jon seized the moment. "Butterfree, Psybeam now!"

Butterfree, managed to charge up the psychic move just on the virtue of the psychic energy's characteristics. I wonder if knew of this or he simple blurted out the right move.

With a graceful twist, Butterfree unleashed a dazzling display of Psybeam, a rainbow-colored beam that cut through the air. The radiant attack aimed to disrupt Beedrill's focus and turn the tide in Jon's favor.

Yet, Sam, remained calm and issued a calculated response. A point to him in my mental book for doing to that.

"Beedrill, Use Harden to defend against Psybeam!"

Beedrill cloaked itself in a protective layer of normal energy, which hardened its exoskeleton. The clash between Psybeam and Harden revealed the complexity of Pokémon battle in real life, unlike the games.

Psychic type should work on poison typing of Beedrill as per games. It is true for somewhat, until the normal type energy covered Beedrill, effectively staving off the move's effectiveness.

Not just these, there are additional factors like the training of the pokemon in that type, the move used, the variety of Pokémon targeted all influence the Pokémon Battling. For example, a Zapdos attacking a Geodude, will kill it easily. But in the same way, a fire attack can be effective against a water type if attacked on specific parts like eyes.

The vice versa case is also true. For example, the Blastoise line's shell seems to be capable of withstanding thunder and grass attacks somewhat, making the shell a unique feature to them.

All in all, Pokemon Battling is complex beyond words, requiring all this knowledge.

I turned my vision back to the ongoing dance of Bug pokemon that would make Madara Uchiha nod in approval. Beedrell's yellow fur had turned red in some spots, it's drills have lost some of it's shine. Butterfree on the other hand has it's beautiful wings lose it's luster with a hole in one of them.

Such is the nature of Pokemon Training. Such a heavy pokemon battle would be rare in wild, but under a trainer it is a normal occurrence. Coupled with the pokemon healer facilities, proper breeding and Hard work you can imagine a good future for the Pokémon's strength.

A reason that the wild Pokémon sought after a good trainer.

But I could see that the Beedrill has strayed a bit faraway from it's opponent, bit by bit under Jon's commands. A mistake, considering the matchup between the two.

Jon, with a triumphant gleam in his eyes, seized the opportunity given by beedrill's exhaustion, "Butterfree, finish it with Solar Beam!"

The elegant butterfly Pokémon gathered energy from the sunlight, a radiant glow enveloping its wings. The audience in the surrounding crowd crackled with anticipation as the powerful beam charged.

Sam's Beedrill, recognizing the impending threat, attempted to dodge. A smart move considering the large distance and the move set it has. Hopefully, it learns Venoshock in the future to use in such occasions.

Sam shouted for his partner, "Come on, Beedrill. You could do it, Dodge."

I can commend him for his effort, but it was too late.

The Solar Beam erupted, a burst of energy surging towards Beedrill.

BOOM

The impact was overwhelming, and as the Solar Beam is bit OP for newbie battles. It shown as the Solar Beam sent Beedril crashing into the Trees, blowing up smoke in it's wake.

The smoke cleared to reveal the Beedrill crashed in a small pit, with it's eyeball rotating in a spiral signifying that it can no longer battle. An interesting feature of Pokémon which in anime was stupid but here it is even more stupid. The reason is unknown and currently still being studied..

Jon's victory was clear with that.

--The Battle ended----

With a confident grin, Jon recalled his exhausted Butterfree. "You did great, Butterfree. Rest up."

Sam, acknowledging defeat, sighed and returned Beedrill to its Poké Ball. Jon couldn't resist a teasing smile. "Well, Sam, seems like I win."

Sam, though visibly frustrated, managed a nod. "This isn't over, Jon. Next time, the Beedrill will triumph."

Jon playfully saluted. "Looking forward to my next win then."

The onlookers, drawn to the spectacle, murmured among themselves. Jon, reveling in his victory, couldn't resist a parting taunt. "Maybe your Beedrill just needs a bit more training. Or perhaps you should pray to born among the Frees in the next life. We do have the winning touch."

Sam shot a defiant look at the common saying of Frees. "We'll see about that, Jon. The Bees will always soar higher."

His Beedril screeched at that showing his approval at the comment.

--------------------------------------------

Bug types and rock/ground types were most common types for Trainers in Bharatsa since ancient times, despite it being a peninsula filled with rivers.

It's odd, but there's a reason for it. The Pokémon League here isn't fully in effect.

[Pokemon League:  A ruling structure unique to pokemon world, capable of giving a opportunity to everyone under it's shade to achieve anything. It harnessess both the characteristics of Humans and pokemon.

Its role is to manage the Pokémon species in the wild, assisting in planting wild berry trees and regulating species migration. Essentially it helps not just he Human society but the pokemon wildlife by keeping peace among them by providing food in form of Berries, avoiding the untamed wild tragedies.

For example, In Untamed wild without the touch of Pokemon league, it is common to see Arboks eating baby pokemon, pokemon eggs etc, as just a part of their nature. But after the programmes of Pokemon League, the Arbok's diet is shifted towards berry trees planted. Of course, if the Arbok is unwilling for that, measures will be taken.

Over time, the message of change will be sent to the rest of the wild pokemon, given the intelligence of Pokémon and that message will have the consequences of rejecting the change. So the Wild becomes tame, with its own rules, becoming much less life-threatening for the prospective Pokemon trainers.]

It works well in main Kanto which soon spread to other regions. The sheer amount of development and peace from this convinced multiple contries around the world to join these pokemon Leagues. Bharatsa was the same, but it is a different ball game.

The League's policy is not easy to fulfill here. Not to mention the lack of interest from officials and the strong untamed wildlife, most important reason is - gangs and clans.

See, we've got gangs here, from street level all the way up to the country level. They change every day, fueled by grudges, politics, and even garner public support. It's like a constant turf war.

It is further exaggerated by each area being completely different from each other, from language to culture.

The only reason it is held together in the past is because of the former royal family of Tyrannis. Named after their signature Pokémon - Tyranitar, which they used to maintain their control over the passageway connecting to Silver Mountains, the only land connection to Indigo continent as a whole.

Of course, the other problem is the clans. Just like I explained beforehand, every citizen has some clan lineage.

According to what I heard, before joining the Indigo League, even the associating with other people is limited to the same clans. Much less the talk of friendship or marriage.

Even now, each clan forms a network of relationships from the farmer to even the royal family - For example, [a part of Rock Clan, meaning their preference for their Rock type.]

The clans may not necessarily have some secret methods or like. No Sir, such things are strictly limited to direct family. Rather, it's just their signature Pokémon were something the members watched all their life while growing up - making them better in training them at different classes compared to the average trainer. Just as humans do humans. They formed Biases. A fact becoming known now-a-days.

The example being Jon and Sam, who trace themselves to respective clans - Frees and Bees. Each member had their representative Pokémon for generations; they hated each other's guts with passion in the past.

Now, after decades of influence from the league it turned into well-meaning Rivalry. In fact, Jon and Sam are family friends. Their Fathers are quite prominent in the village with good reputation.

I followed the leaving Sam, hoping for a chance befriend him. From there, if luck shines me, I could get a Pokémon myself. I might be hurrying a bit, but having a Pokémon early is benefit I don't want to lose.

Author's note: I am sure many would agree with Archer right. Give your thoughts on that.
