Chapter 4: Rekindling of the Passion

A/N: What is your favorite Pokemon Region?

-

[Reverse Summer Hill, The Dark Forest]

The best ways to enjoy the cool and wonderful atmosphere of the early morning dawn was via a calm walk through your neighborhood or by eating good food with friends and family.

As the sun faintly shone on the leaves with morning dew, a sparkle of wonder could be seen.

With the gentle breeze rustling the foliage and soft sounds of the flying type Pokemon around, the cold, harsh, and bitter night gave way to the somber dawn.

In an open clearing in the middle of the forest, this wonderful sight was just magnificent.

Tye shared their portions of Pokemon food for the three in front of him, the psychic type Galarian Ponyta, the psychic type Hattrem, and the newly added teammate. From foe to friend, Mimikyu.

After the rough night they had, it was good they got to sit down, rest, and fill their bellies.

Looking at the three Pokemon interacting with each other, Pen mainly converses with Mimikyu and Hattrem on the side sometimes intersecting.

Tye had a satisfied smile on his face, he let the atmosphere around them take him in, his mind wondering about future situations such as this.

'I could get used to this, I should mark it on the map and visit here sometime.'

As the time rolled by and the Sun rose into the sky, they all felt it was time to head back.

After taking several pictures of the area, Tye backed everything into his backpack and was ready to head out.

Returning Mimikyu to his Pokemon, Hatterz hopped onto his head and Pen walked by his side, they started to trek through the forest.

As they walked and walked, Tye's mind started the wonder, letting instinct guide his way, although his eyes were open all he could see were his thoughts and imagination.

'I should come up with a name for Mimikyu, I don't think, Lord Dark Star of the Heavenly Converging Evil Heart Forest would cut it'

'Can't be too cute either, I don't think he would appreciate that, can't be too outlandish too, as well taking a core part of its name, I already made that mistake with Pen.'

'The one thing that pops up to mind about Mimikyu is the fear of being seen, Wonder of U comes to mind, Mimik U sounds good.'

'Mimic, as it's always trying to Mimic Pikachu, Mimikyu as in it is a Mimikyu and Wonder of U, for bad things will happen if you look at its real body.'

"Yeah, that sounds pretty good,"

Without any warning, Tye spoke out loud, but Hatterz and Pen didn't have any concerns with it as it was normal for their trainer.

'It'd already nine, no way in hell am I catching the 10-clock registration opening, I also have to find another way to get an Eevee than the test, If I get below the passing grade or even worse, I pass and get unluckily enough that the Pokémon I get isn't Eevee,'

'I could trade for an, but that is so unlikely that it would be easier to meet God than ever find someone willing to trade about Eevee instead of selling one.'

'I know Eevee can be found in fields, forests, and flat plains, they use tall grass, trees, and just about anything to hide themselves, they are almost impossible to spot with human eyes in their natural habitats.'

As they walked on and on and Tye sunk deeper and deeper into his thoughts, none of them noticed the small creature ever so slightly behind them, slowly shadowing their movements.

Normally Hatterz would be able to notice said creature without problem, but she was dead asleep from the all night they pulled.

Brown paws lightly and quietly stepped just a distance away, with curiosity brimming from its brown eyes, its rabbit-like eyes twitched and moved with every sound in the environment.

Without any hesitation, it followed them wherever they went.

In truth, this creature started following them from the night before.

<The Night Before>

As the creature with practiced efficiency, dug itself a small borrow in the ground under the tall grass and surrounded by trees on all sides.

"HAHAHA!"

A sound it had never heard before, mixed with the vibrations from the ground, it could tell two creatures running pretty quickly.

As soon as it noticed that detail, two beings ran straight past it, disturbing its natural cover and going into the nearby clearing.

As it watched what transpired for the next few hours, its curiosity peaked, and it would do anything to fulfill it.

Questions ran through its mind, "What is that tall creature, what is that round thing, what are those things on the ground, is that food?"

Question after question, each question was never going to be answered unless it directly got answered by the beings themselves.

So from that point on, it made up its mind to get those answers, but one thing was for sure, although it was young and curiosity was killing it, it sure wasn't stupid.

Following them from a distance in so they don't find out about it, and to find out if they are safe to be around if ever caught.

-------[Reverse Summer Hill]

As the time flew by, evening turned into night, and night turned into morning.

Tamlin sat down by the dining table watching the clock as the time went by, praying for the best.

She didn't know if it was her emotions or the memories, but in the hope of her nephew's return, she made a fantastical meal, ones the like she never made in years.

Although she slept, she felt like it would have been to not sleep at all, her eyes drooped lower than normal, and her shoulders slouched incredibly low.

Before she looked a little aged, you could tell that she was in her 50s, but now, it looked as if she aged another 30 in the last few hours.

She looked at the several plates of food in front of her, from traditional meals she hadn't made in years to dishes she was simply fond of.

She started cooking in preparation for her nephew coming back, but as the process went on and on, a feeling that she hadn't felt in years came back into her heart.

The feeling of doing something she enjoyed with her heart, and not to simply doing it because she needed it to survive.

It has been a long time since she did something to simply enjoy it, not long after getting into her zone, she made an absurd amount of food.

So much so that the 4 of them couldn't eat it all, it was then she finally understood her husband, nephew, and all the others who undertook the challenging task of working with Pokémon.

The last 3 hours have been an enlightening experience for Tamlin, now, although the physical toll is still on her body, the mental toll completely disappeared.

"I'm tired..." a sigh followed as she continuously checked the clock.

As time passed with little fanfare the front door burst open.

"Tamlin! watch here, Odeen came with a huge amount of berries!"

With a shock sent straight to her spine, she calmed her heart down and replied to the person who marched straight through her door.

"Look Jadeen, you can't just burst through the doors like you own the place, what if it breaks, it's that have to pay for it."

Jadeen had a sheepish demeanor, different from his first impression.

"Anyways, you hungry? no matter if you hungry or not come it, I made breakfast."

Without even giving an answer, Tamlin dragged the boy to the dining room, shared with him some food, and watched him eat.

"How's your mother these days, I haven't heard from her for some time now?"

Jadeen stopped eating as he answered, "Yeah, I think she's alright, I haven't heard from her since Mom moved to Sinnoh,"

His expression turned a bit down, but he quickly changed it, the conversations died from the first question.

After Jadeen ate and drank his belly full, his mood was a 180 from earlier, he said his thanks and went somewhere else on his self-made schedule

It was not long after that Tamlin turned to watching the clock again.

But she no longer had to wait long, as the doors softly opened, a familiar voice she was hoping to hear,

"I'm back Aunty Tammy."

She instantly turned her head, to see a teen boy, a sleepy Hattrem on his head and a Galarian Ponyta by his side.

A bright smile married her face, "Welcome Back."

Tye looked astonished at the Pokémon in front of him, the improbability of the situation made him stutter,

"Yo-you have been following us this whole?"

-

"And round one of the Preliminaries have begun!"

-

"Now finish it! Use Flamethrower!"

-

"I'm sorry but, she's not gonna make it..."

-

"Hatterz, you remember when we first met?"

-

"It's in my very bones, it is my dream to travel and witness all the amazing lands of this world."
