Pokemon: The Traveler

Short Summary: A man is reincarnated in the Pokemon World with a few extra bonuses. He'll need it especially since he's been reincarnated into a ten-year-old body in the Crown Tundra. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Long Summary: Die. Get reincarnated with a few extra bonuses. Go on to live a fun new life. The classic, cliche formula. Something Shin had read about multiple times but never expected to experience. But even so, when he was finally faced with this very same situation, he knew exactly what to do. Go into the Pokemon world, travel, and have fun. Simple, right? Well... not exactly. Because Shin wasn't born in Pallet Town. Or even a big city in one of the major regions. No... he was in the Crown Tundra. As a ten-year-old child. With no Pokemon. He'll be fine. Probably. ------------------------------------------------------------------- No set update schedule due to school. I'm mostly writing this book to get over the writing block for my other stories. Romance is a maybe.

Reincarnation

A/N: By the way, if the wishes seem familiar, it's because I was inspired by "Pokemon Alternate Universe Adventures" by Azrail93, and I just felt that the wishes mentioned then were rather interesting. That's pretty much the only thing I took inspiration from, though.

Shin woke up to a pure black sky. Lying on his back, he recalled the events that led up to this. 'Fuck... I'm dead, aren't I? This must be some sort of afterlife. I was kind of expecting to not wake up after this, but this is a bit of a surprise.'

Finally deciding to look around, he surveyed his surroundings, before seeing a lone man behind a desk. Surveying his features, Shin immediately had a thought in this mind. 'This must be some sort of deity in charge of death, I guess. I have to be respectful to him. Even if I don'et know his exact identity, it's good to be careful. I don't want to get my soul obliterated or something like that.'

Clearing his throat, he walked towards the figure, before bowing his head and speaking. "Uh, hello, sir. May I be so rude as to inquire as to what is going on right now?"

The man looked around in confusion for a while, before his brows furrowed. "You're talking to me? I mean, it's not like there's anyone else around here, but I was just surprised about the 'sir' part."

Pausing for a while, he seemed to recall some bad memories, as he began to continue speaking. "You don't understand how rude some people are. Always screaming dumbass things like, 'take me back!' or 'who the hell are you?'. Honestly, it's like this generation forgot common courtesy. It's refreshing to see some people still know how to respect their elders. You know, I work so damn hard, and people never seem to even acknowledge an ounce of my work. I don't even know why I keep doing this."

The man kept talking, and talking, as Shin just stood there, dumbfounded. 'This guy... is he for real? All I did was call him sir once, and now he's on a rant about why humanity was a mistake and it was much better in the good old days of tribes where people knew how to respect him. It's understandable, though, I guess. Whoever this is, probably has to deal with more than billions of people, most of which, are likely assholes. I would be depressed too if I was him.'

Shin just sat there, mulling in his thoughts for what seemed like hours, before the man's rant showed signs of ending. Once it seemed like he vented all the rage in him, the man took a deep breath before speaking once again. "Sorry about that. You know how things get. A hard day of work always gets you stressed. Except for me, it's a bit more than a few days. Maybe a few eons. Anyways, it really has been a long time since someone's shown me proper respect. Like, a few epochs at least."

The man had a bright smile on his face as he talked. "You know, I like you kid. You know how to respect your elders, and you're a good listener. I was originally going to send you to a random world with your memories wiped, but just for you, I'll do you a favor. I may not look it, but I'm actually pretty hip. I know kids your age are all obsessed with those 'i-sick-eyes', so why don't I give you the option to reincarnate into another world with all your memories. Hell, I'll even throw a few bonuses in there too, cause why not?"

Shin's mind was unable to process all that was happening. As he listened rather blankly, one thought stuck out in his head. 'Why does this guy talk like a middle-aged man trying to prove to his kids that he's still cool and modern?'

He snapped out of his stupor rather quickly. 'Wait a minute, that doesn't matter. Let's focus on the bigger issues at hand right now. Even with his absolutely horrible butchering of the pronunciation of isekai, I understand what he was trying to say. This dude is offering to let me do the cliche 'reincarnate in another world with your memories!'

Shin thought for a while, before asking another additional question. "Uh... if it's possible can I reincarnate in another world of my choosing? Like a fictional world from Earth?"

The man behind the desk seemed surprised but nodded. "Yeah, that's fine. There are basically infinite worlds, so any of those 'fictional worlds' you can think of would probably exist. Also, about those bonuses, I told you about. You get three wishes.

It can't be anything that breaks the balance of the world. Some worlds have higher upper limits than others. For example, you could wish to have the power to eat planets on say, a highly advanced sci-fi world where people easily blow up planets. But if you wish to be in a world like Earth, that you can't wish to have the power to destroy the universe or something like that."

Shin nodded. "Seems reasonable. Well, to start, would it be possible to be reincarnated into Pokemon?"

The man replied back, "Yeah, that's fine. And what about your wishes?"

Shin had to stop to think. 'Well, this isn't that much of a combat-oriented world, so it'd be better for me to pick something more suited for Pokemon battles. However, it is also best to have some sort of self-protection in case.'

An idea came to him almost immediately. "I want an area-of-effect predictive ability. More specifically, I would want something like Thousand-Image-Defense of Sasaki Kojiro mixed with the Advanced Observation Haki of One Piece."

The man nodded in affirmation. "I can do that. Record of Ragnarok and One Piece. I've seen both. Good taste by the way. Anyways, the way it'll work is that you will have an invisible circle around your body which grows the more you use it. Within that circle, you automatically analyze the opponent, giving you information about the opponent and the ability to predict the movements of anyone inside it, to the point where you can see the future.

Additionally, you will also be able to simulate battle situations within your head, allowing you to see the possible outcomes of your decisions. Finally, like Sasaki Kojiro, the analysis of your ability will basically be saved within your memory, allowing you to simulate the opponent and train battle situations in your head. What's your next wish?"

Shin responded, "I would like a system that would allow me to view the specifics of a Pokemon or object such as their potential or abilities, as well as a subspace with multiple different habitats for each Pokemon and allows me to increase the potential or abilities of anything inside it."

The man paused for a second. "You know... normally that would be two wishes. But I'll allow this to be counted as one, as long as the last wish is rather small."

Shin let out a sigh of relief, as he was scared that it wouldn't be allowed. "Alright, for my final wish, I wish for my body to have top-tier talent in general. For example, things such as aura, as well as other things related to the body such as reaction time."

The man nodded after a bit of thinking. "Alright. That's a bit much, but I'll allow it. However, you won't be able to specify any of your conditions such as the age you reincarnate or the place you land. Normally, you would be able to do that without requiring a wish, but since your other wishes were a bit over the top, you can't. Also, it's just more fun this way, don't you think? Anyways, bye!"

Immediately after speaking the last word, he manifested a body he thought would be adequate, shoved Shin's soul in it, and chucked it to a random place of the world without looking. Of course, he made sure it was on land, and not an immediate death trap, but other than that, it was mostly random.
