45 Chapter 45: Complicated Feelings

"Arceus, we are finally here!"

Nessa, followed by Aeron and Misty, walked into Pewter City with tired faces. After giving first aid to their Pokémon, they immediately left for Pewter City but were unfortunate enough to be attacked by many wild Pokémon on the way. It was midnight, and the trio, especially the girls, were tired after walking so much.

They immediately made their way toward the Pokemon Centre, handed their Pokeballs to Nurse Joy and walked toward their rooms.

"How about we stay in Pewter City for a day and explore?" Aeron suggested as they walked side by side.

"I want to see the Pokémon Museum," Nessa suggested.

Pewter City Museum was famous for displaying pre-historic Pokémon and many other ancient technologies. It was a tourist attraction among trainers from Kanto and other regions.

"I just want to sleep in," Misty said with a yawn.

"I will book us for 3 pm. How does that sound to you guys?" Aeron asked, and the girls agreed. "Alright, I will see you both in the morning."

He stretches his arms while walking toward his room. It had been a few weeks since he last slept, so today, he planned to have a good sleep.

Walking into his room, he made his way toward the shower before changing into nightwear. Suddenly, his eyes landed on the mirror as he looked at himself. He still wore the glasses, and as he removed them, Aeron's eyes changed from black to purplish blue with a slit in them; however, as soon as he wore them, his eyes returned to normal.

"These are not just normal glasses." Aeron sighed to himself. He had first noticed it during his stay in Viridian City. When he wore these glasses, all signs of Psychic and Fighting-type Energy were erased from his body. Even his eye transformation would not be visible to anyone as long as he had these glasses. However, the glasses lost all effect when Aeron let the two energies flow out of his body. 'I have so many questions.'

With each passing day, Aeron was discovering different things about himself. He even considered himself not to be a human but something else with all the 'things' he could do. And those 'things' scared him sometimes. These powers, they were his and yet he knew nothing about them.

He did not want to return home for the first year of his Pokémon Journey...at least, that was the plan. Now he wanted answers, and the only people who could give him those answers were his parents...hopefully.

'Parents...'

With one last sigh, Aeron shook his head, removed his glasses, put them on the nightstand, and plopped onto the bed. He closed his eyes and drifted into the lands of dreams...

"What are you doing here?"

He heard someone whisper on the other side of the door.

"N-Nothing..."

"I won the bet!"

"Keep your voice down!" The other person rebuked before they added. "Can I..."

"You said you would keep your word!"

"B-But...aren't we sisters?"

"It's not fair!"

"Please..."

"Don't give me those eyes!"

"...Please...!"

Aeron opened the door and looked at the two girls standing before his door with pillows in their hands.

"What are you both arguing about?"

With an emotionless face, his black eyes looked at the two girls from behind the glasses.

"Aeron!"

"What are you doing here?!"

Nessa and Misty yelped in surprise.

"I should be asking you that...what are you both doing here?" He looked at the two girls, who immediately lowered their heads, not knowing how to respond while their faces were burning with red blush. They both had let their hair open while wearing loose oversized shirts with short bottoms.

Aeron gulped down a mouthful of saliva before he rubbed his forehead while letting out another sigh.

He was an introvert. He had no friends till he met Nessa and Misty. His type of fun was considered old school by people his age. He was the uncool kid no one wanted to be friends with in school. He was awful at conversations. He was...he was a lot of things but one. He was not dense.

"Come in." He stepped to the side and invited the girls inside. "Take the bed; I will take the couch."

But just because he knew what was happening did not mean he would do something about it. Because...he had no freaking clue what to do.

"Mhm!"

Nessa and Misty nodded their heads before jumping into his bed. They immediately covered their faces with the blanket, not saying another word. Aeron, on the other hand, looked at them before walking toward the couch.

"N-night night..."

He heard whispers from the two girls. His feet stopped before he took a deep breath and walked toward them. Maybe they had sensed him coming over? Two pairs of heartbeats could be heard within the room. It would have been three if a certain someone was not a Psychic.

Aeron lifted the sheets covering their faces and bent down before kissing their foreheads. With one last smile and a nod, he walked away, ignoring the smoke coming out from the faces of the two girls.

"Good night."

-

Unlike Greenwich Town, the Pokémon Centre in Pewter City was very big and thus had small balconies attached to rooms. Aeron's room was on the twelfth floor, and he could easily see most of Pewter City from there since Pokémon Centre was one of the only two tall buildings in the city. The other was Pokemart.

The silence of the night was comforting to Aeron, who had a lot going on in his mind. From who he was and why he had these powers to what was happening around him. He ignored everything else for now and focused on the thoughts related to the two girls.

'How do I feel about it?' He asked himself while looking down on the Pewter City from the balcony of his room.

The feelings of Nessa and Misty were very obvious to him. At first, he thought it would go away over time, but he was wrong.

'I can understand, Nessa. We have been through a lot together, but Misty too?' He wondered. 'We have known each other for...three-ish months and been travelling for a month-ish? Her feelings are not less than what I can sense from Nessa.'

Due to his powers, he could sense the emotions of every living being around him, be it Pokémon, humans, or even trees and plants. Thus the feelings the two girls had for him were very much evident. He had seen those feelings go from little to a lot, growing with each passing day.

'And their actions are getting bolder as well.'

But what did he feel about it? Did he have feelings for the two girls?

'It would be a lie to say I am not attracted to them...' Both girls were beautiful, and any boy would jump at the chance to date them if they got it. However, besides attraction, Aeron did not know if he was in love, much like the girls.

These powers were a blessing as well as a curse. Unlike other people, he knew what emotions he was feeling, and while the Fighting-type Energy allowed him to sense these emotions, the Psychic Energy helped him analyze them. Therefore he knew he was attracted to the girls, he liked them, but it was not love. However, it was also confirmed that he could never let go of them. There were very dear to him.

'Let's be patient.'

Aeron sighed once again before he walked back into the room. His eyes landed on the two girls sleeping peacefully. They had already kicked the sheets off them while their slender figures were before him to admire.

He walked toward them until he was standing by the side of the bed. With one last glance, he took the sheets and covered them once again before walking out of the room.

It was going to be another sleepless night.

"Here are your Pokémon. They were injured quite badly; make sure you take good care of them."

"I will try my best." Aeron took his three Pokeballs from Nurse Joy.

"I know Pokémon are stubborn." Nurse Joy gave him a soft smile. From the injuries, she could guess what had gone through with the three Pokémon. "But don't overdo it."

"Yes." Aeron clipped the Pokeballs onto his waist.

"You look troubled... fought with your girlfriends?" Nurse Joy chuckled when she saw the change in Aeron's expression, which was quickly hidden away.

"No." He shook his head before deciding to leave...He looked at Nurse Joy and then at the Pokémon Centre. There was no one here except for the two of them. "Nurse Joy, are you free?"

"~Ara~Ara. Are you trying to flirt with me?" Nurse Joy made a shocked expression, to which Aeron just shook his head.

"I will take my leave."

"Oi. Hold up."

Nurse Joy shook her head when she saw the boy just leave without a word. He was heartless, wasn't he? No wonder he was having trouble with his girlfriends.

"Wait, so they aren't your girlfriends?"

"Of course not." Aeron shook his head. "We are good friends, but..." He did not know how to explain. At first, he thought maybe Nurse Joy, a woman, might be of some help, but he didn't know if it would be worth it.

"But they like you a lot...maybe even love you?" Nurse Joy's eyes shone with stars as she imagined the love triangle between the three trainers travelling together. "It's so good to be young!" She held her face in her hands while thinking about her past. But then her face became serious. "However, you don't feel the same...or maybe as intensely as them? Moreover, whom would you choose? If you go with that orange-haired girl, the other would be upset and vice-versa...Mhm. I see. Mhm Mhm. Hmmm...."

For the next few minutes, Aeron watched as Nurse Joy had a monologue with herself. However, he was pretty surprised at how quickly she had come to a conclusion and the right one at that.

'Maybe it was the right choice to ask her for help?'

"So you finally came to this big sister for help after you could not decide what to do. Right?"

"Yea."

"Then shall we begin?"

"Begin what?" Aeron did not know when, but the pink-haired woman's clothes had changed from her pure white nurse outfit to a detective's.

"Interrogation. Hehehehe!"
