Raid Battle

"I already called for reinforcements but at this rate, we would all be dead before they arrive!" Officer Jenny yelled with a grim expression as she looked at some poor trainer who was fried to death from Zapdos' [Thunderbolt] attack.

Although Zapdos appeared to be on a mindless rampage, it seemed to be intentionally targeting those from a distance, making it hard for them to escape.

"What do you think about us joining forces against Zapdos?" Koichi said with a solemn tone.

"Are you insane? With just the two of us? We'd be dead in no time" Jenny replied as she rolled her eyes.

"No, I mean, all of us, against Zapdos." Koichi replied.

"You mean, like a raid battle?" Jenny asked, to which Koichi nodded seriously.

"Had it been just some regular raid battle, it would have been possible but look at its bloodshot eyes. Do you think we stand a chance against an enraged Legendary pokemon without holding back?" Jenny said with some hesitation in her eyes.

"Just consider it a hard mode raid battle" Koichi said with a lopsided grin as his eyes blazed with battle intent.

Officer Jenny paused for a moment as she considered the idea. A raid battle is a different kind of battle where one strong pokemon would go out against multiple trainers at once.

Some bored pokemon would intentionally show itself to the public and start a pokemon battle against the trainers. Naturally, nearby trainers wouldn't pass up on a chance to battle against a Legendary pokemon.

Usually, those Legendary pokemon would exercise restraint and refrain from harming the trainers and fainted pokemon.

"Alright. But let's gather everybody first and surround Zapdos. I go this way, you go that way" Jenny said as she pointed towards the right.

She then ran forward and shouted "Police Officers, heed my order. Gather here and participate in a raid battle with me."

The surrounding Police Officers heard Officer Jenny's words. Hesitation can be seen from their eyes darted back and forth between the enormous thunderbird in the sky and Officer Jenny who radiated a just aura.

They recalled the oath they had sworn when they became Police Officers. In the end, they approached Officer Jenny albeit with reluctance from their hearts.

"Listen up everyone! We can't escape this way. The only way for us to survive is to keep it busy to buy time for the reinforcements to come" Koichi shouted as he radiated a fierce battle intent.

The surrounding Dojo members who were originally panicking amidst the chaos looked at the Karate Master.

The Karate Master was a respectable figure among the Dojo members. Naturally, his words carry a lot of weight among the hearts of the Dojo members.

One Dojo member slapped his cheeks and shouted "Ooooooooooh!!!!"

He then rushed forward, approaching Koichi and said, "Karate Master, let me join you!"

Battle intent seemed to be ignited on the hearts of the surrounding Dojo members as they approached the Karate Master one by one. Their eyes flashed with courage as they saw a glimpse of hope when they heard Koichi's words.

As for the regular trainers, some of them were too panicked to hear the shouts of Officer Jenny and Koichi.

Some of them heard their calls and approached them courageously while some hid under the cover of the trees, observing the situation first before they act. Perhaps an opportunity to escape would come as they keep Zapdos busy.

As for the Team Rocket grunts, only a few of them joined the plan for a raid battle.

Most of them were among those who hid while waiting for their chance to escape. After all, they were originally criminals and if they survive, they're bound to spend time in jail.

Those who joined the plan were either too stupid to think ahead or were just hotblooded people who can't pass the opportunity to participate in a battle with a Legendary pokemon, Zapdos.

At this time, the Police Officers, Dojo members, previously captured trainers, and Team Rocket grunts joined forces and surrounded Zapdos' figure.

'Strange. The intensity of its rampage seemed to have dropped a little when it heard our shouts for a raid battle.' Jenny thought to herself as she scrutinized Zapdos' figure in the sky.

"Everyone, let's start the raid battle!" Koichi shouted as he called out his remaining pokemon.

A bipedal, birdlike Pokémon with colorful plumage revealed itself as it performed muscular poses and let out a sharp cry.

"Hawlucha!"

Officer Jenny also called out her pokemon as Arcanine appeared on the battlefield and let out a growl.

"Arcanine!"

Its presence seemed to be weakened due to the weather conditions but its eyes burned with battle intent as it looked at Zapdos.

The surrounding trainers also called out their pokemon as they appeared one by one and let out their own cries.

"Onix!"

"Rhydon!"

"Nidorina!"

"Magikarp!"

"Espeon!"

"Shedinja!"

"Hawlucha, use [Flying Press]!" Koichi shouted as he let out a jab.

"Arcanine, use [Flamethrower]!" Officer Jenny yelled as she pointed at Zapdos.

"Let's stop this storm, use [Sandstorm]!"

"[Rock Throw]"

"[Splash]!"

Each pokemon let out ferocious attacks and concentrated them all on Zapdos.

Zapdos skillfully dodged each of their attacks with its incredible speed as it flew in the sky.

It then let out a sharp cry and let loose a flare of electricity and struck everything around it.

Under the effect of the move [Sandstorm], the downpour of rain was replaced by sandstorm that covered the area around Zapdos. Although its electricity was no longer as strong as when it whipped up [Rain Dance], its power was still terrifying, frying almost everything around it.

"Dodge it, Hawlucha!"

"Use [Light Screen]!"

"[Protect]"

"Oh no, Shedinja!"

"Use [Dig] to dodge it!"

The trainers commanded their pokemon to dodge. Unfortunately, there were some stupid trainers whose sense of danger seemed to have disappeared when they joined the raid battle and were fried by Zapdos' electricity.

After all, this is not a game where trainers only have to stand and command their pokemon to battle.

At the very least, their pokemon seemed to have successfully dodged the flare of electricity and were safe.

"Be careful everyone! This is not a regular battle where you are safe. This is a life and death raid battle!" Koichi yelled as his heart ached when he looked at some unfortunate Dojo members who died from Zapdos' attack.

'It was just the first attack and we already have casualties' Officer Jenny thought to herself as her eyebrows knitted.
