Jay POV:

"I thought we won't be able to make it in time. Who would have thought that you would stop moving and stay in the same spot for an hour? I am sorry Jay, I promised you that we will meet in round three but now it seems I have to break the promise," said Duke.

I can see the hidden confidence and satisfaction in his tone. It's 8 vs 4 but if you add the pokemon in Duke's hand then it's even worse. Even if I take out three Pokemon with the planned sneak attack there will still be seven remaining.

"Duke, let's think this through for a second. Only five to ten minutes are remaining and if I manage to escape this assault and escape, later you don't want to see my rage right? You and I both know that I am not that easy to bully. Why take a risk? Just compromise for now?"

I tried to stall for time while Joltik slowly hanged down from the branch. Joltik was at the rear trying to steal a Pokeball from an underling. The moment Joltik gets it, it will draw everyone's attention and both my Pokemon can take two of the summoned Pokemon. Joltik stealthily used string shot and swung the Pokeball far away with full force. Everyone including Duke looked back,

[Electrike take that Tailow out with the strongest thunderbolt you can produce, Sandile use dig on the slugma which is to your extreme right. I want a one-hit ko.] I said telepathically as my two pokemon got into action.

"Tailowwwwww". " Slug Slugm Slugmaa"

Both Pokemon wailed in pain for two seconds before they fainted. Duke and the rest were startled by the commotion in both directions. Electrike, Sandile and Joltik stood in front of me taking their battle stance, Gregory and Corphish were still on the tree waiting for an opportunity.

"It seems it's 7 vs 3 now, if you want to play dirty then you can add your underlings to that count," I said mockingly.

Although Duke was upset he kept his cunning grin,

"I think that's still enough, even if you escape you won't be able to make it to the top 5 because I killed everyone that I encountered. I mean the one's who did not have a token on their body, I am sure I killed around ten people so if you have their tokens then it's useless," he stated confidently.

I was stunned by his response, 'what kind of bastard is he?'

Duke stopped his chat and asked to attack, the Phanpy at the front used Roll-out and came straight towards us. Eyeing the opportunity, Corphish from the top shot out directly for a head-on collision. Aqua jet hit the poor elephant straight on the face which resulted in the derailment of its path, only to roll away and hit a tree. Phanpy got imprinted to the truck and now the battle turned into a 6 vs 4.

Gulpin which seemed to have levelled up to Intermediate stage came straight towards my Sandile. While Baltoy took on Electrike, the other four Pokemon were Poochyena, Diglett, Bidoof and Venipede. All had bad potential but Venipede went ahead to support Gulpin which made Sandile occupied, Baltoy and Electrike were evenly matched. Joltik's target was the dark puppy, Corphish took on Diglett and I was once again left with a Bidoof.

There was utter chaos with all the battles going on while I tried to use the same strategy as before to take bidoof on, Gregory was busily occupied on giving commands to his Pokemon.

I shakily turned towards the bidoof that planted its teeth against my right hand, I could see the blood gushing out while I tried to concentrate. I got hold of it with my left hand and squeezed it as hard as possible. Bidoof cried in pain and released its grip over my arm, recognizing the opportunity I summoned my psychic force, but before I injected it I was tackled from behind.

My bones cracked and I was thrown to the side due to the heavy impact. I coughed out the blood,

"Cough ahhu ahhu....."

My eyes were a bit dizzy and I looked over with an ugly look to find the intruder. I saw a buffed Geodude standing beside the Bidoof, don't tell me...????

"You are right my dear Jake, it's the Pokemon in that Pokeball which was swung away by Joltik. Do you think we are all just standing ideally? My pokemon will keep your Pokemon busy so who will save you now? You should have killed me when you had the opportunity, now pay for the mistakes.....hahaha hahaha,"

There it is, that psychopathic laughter. I was angry at myself now, why was I so stupid even after Slowking advised me. Maybe I was afraid of his father or I was not ready to kill a human but what now!!!!!! Is there any time to think about morals and righteousness, when your life is at this shitty state?

"Ya, you arrree righhht...cough ahhu ahhu..," I spit the blood out, at this point, it was getting tough to speak up.

"Geodude, give his shitty scared face a heavy punch, Bidoof you go back and hold his Pokemon down," said Duke. He returned back to his calm and harmless state.

"Geodude Geo Geo Geodude," the Rock/Ground type was very much ok to listen to Duke even if he is not it's trainer. He buffed up and came straight towards me, I had no way to concentrate and summon my psychic energy.

[Bro, give me one minute and I will be there. Please survive!!!!!] came a message.

[Sir, I am sorry, I am truly sorry but please hold out.] came a panicked girly voice.

I mustered up all my courage and blocked the punch with my both hands.

"Crackle crack crackkkk" was the only sound I heard as I hit a flew towards the tree trunk with a bigger impact. This time I was in lethal pain, both hands are broke and my back is almost cracked. My right hand was already bleeding, empty stomach with no water made it even worse.

'No stamina, No Concentration and severe blood loss', there's no way I am surviving this. The only reason I am in this situation is because of my idiocy, I shouldn't have left him alive back then, I shouldn't have.....

I looked over to the ongoing battle for one last time, Sandile was hurriedly using his moves to come over and save me while Electrike was assaulted by Baltoy and Bidoof which made it difficult for her to even look over here. Joltik and Corphish were almost done with their battles, Gregory did not even have the time to look at my state as he was suffering to hold his ground against the other four men who started to assault him.

'Fuck this', I looked at the psychopath ahead and the Geodude near him with rage. Something deep inside my brain snapped, I couldn't take this fear and humanity morals any longer. Whatever happens, will happen, I don't care if this fuckers dad is a Captain or the Boss of the whole Team Rocket.

My eyes turned reddish-pink as the aura around me suddenly changed. The pressure I unleashed was crushing every living being around to the ground. I did not care if it's a friend or foe as my body lost control of the power, I walked forward step by step.

Duke was on his knees with a bewildered expression, I saw fear in his eyes for the first time but I just walked ahead towards the five idiots who already fainted.

I put my hands on their brain and sent the oppressive psychic power into them. Then I collected the tokens they had, all the Pokemon that were battling were passed out. I did not utter a single word during the whole process as the whole surrounding around the area was in a bone-chilling silence. Gregory already passed out and my subconscious told me to leave him out.

I turned back and walked towards Duke, he was suffocated and had no room to breathe. He looked at my face in horror and tried to mutter something,

"Sorr....Sorr.."

I put my hands over his head, My eyes were shining in a thick reddish glow as the scar that passes through the eye gave me the charm of a devil. The setting sun behind my back was slowly dying as the only light that remained was from my eyes. I looked straight into his eye with a poker face and said

"Sayonara!!!!"

Before my Psychic energy passed through him, I was interrupted by a purple pig with black orbs over its head.

[Time's up, Human.]

That's the last thing I heard before I blacked out.

Captain Carr POV:

Grumpig and Kadabra brought all the test takers back, it was smooth at first but all changed when Grumpig brought three unconscious kids.

Grumpig elaborated the whole situation which made me excited and depressed at the same time. According to my Pokemon, it was a psychic awakening of a kid called Jay. Captain Vahn's son tried to kill the kid called Jay which resulted in this situation, I am sure this won't end here as both Jay and Duke will have an eternal hatred towards each other.

Captain Vahn belongs to Executive Archer which is same as my faction. A psychic is a boon to any team but internal fighting between Duke and Jay won't end well for the whole faction. There is already enough infighting and Executive Proton is eyeing for Archer's position as the head.

So, the safe play here will be to send Jay under Ariana or Petrel. A psychic has infinite potential to grow, I can't get him to our faction as internal fighting will make me lose more reputation. What I can do is to inform Ariana or Petrel about Jay and get some favour like supporting me for Elite promotion. I should do this secretly and try to get more benefits, maybe I can even get some rare items for my Pokemon.

The other kid called Gregory was the least hurt, he had some physical injuries but Jay was in a serious condition. I did all I could do to get him treated, mostly he will wake up by tomorrow morning. It will at least take one week for him to get back to peak condition even after all the advanced treatment but it's worth it. Any psychic if given time will grow into a great trainer so it's good to invest in him.

Occasionally it's better to invest in probable potential than to get him inside my team which will cause more turmoil. Tomorrow will be the announcement of the results so I hope everything goes well, the only issue that's bugging me is the high casualties.

Next-day Morning:

Jay's POV:

I was in an enclosed room which had all the medical equipment, I don't remember what happened but I have these vague memories about the whole situation. My body felt a lot weaker and I looked skinnier than before, my hands looked fine but my back felt sour.

I took some time to piece everything together, what surprised me was that my internal psychic energy has increased a lot. Am I an advanced psychic now?

I tried to ignore the fact that I killed five people yesterday, it felt a bit heavy to think about them but I have no regrets except for the fact that Duke escaped. As I was thinking I heard a knock from the outside, without waiting for the answer Captain Carr walked in.

"Oh!!!! you woke up, that's great. I will state the results in an hour, all your belongings were collected including your pokemon and tokens. Your pokeballs are right behind you on the table as the tokens were taken to evaluation," he said with a grin.

"Thank you, Captain. I don't know how many of them are valid but five of them belong to Gregory so please put those into his account," I said with a pleading tone.

"That's not possible but I will turn a blind eye to that. Young man, I know that you are a psychic but you need not worry as I won't leak the info. You just need to remember today's favour, think of it as an investment in you," he said sheepishly.

'Why are you giving a favour to a nobody like me?', is it because I am a psychic? Most probably that's the reason as this world has a high demand for them.

"Sure Captain, I will help you as much as possible if needed," I said as there was no other alternative. I can't just say 'Fuck off'.

"That's good, I think you will be fine for now so get ready and assemble in an hour for the announcement." He said that and walked away.

I quickly got up, only to sit back in pain. I should take this slowly and gently, so I took some time to get adjusted as I got dressed with the new clothes that were provided. I summoned both my pokemon out, they directly jumped over me as soon as they got out.

[Bro, you are alive!!!!! I can't believe you took them all down. You were insane, even I couldn't handle the pressure.] said Sandile. He was extremely happy right now.

[Sir, I am sorry for my incompetence. I will become strong enough to save you from all the troubles.] said Electrike with a tone of disappointment.

"Don't worry girl, you did great. Next time I won't put you guys in that spot. Let's forget about yesterday and try to focus on what we should do next." I said assuring and consoling them.

I returned them and waited for ten minutes to get rid of the pain from all their jumping. I walked out of the base only to be greeted by weird looks, Gregory who saw me came sprinting towards me...
