86 Chapter 86
On the fourth day since they found Charmander in the Eastern Mountians of the Cinnabar Island, the orange lizard finally managed to execute a perfect Metal Claw.
The boulder it struck got cut in half, and the little Fire Pokemon, stayed in his place, looking at its claw in amazement.
"Charrr!!!" It proudly roared to the sky, and the flame burning at the end of its tail flared up excitedly.
Politoed led the cheers as she excitedly clapped her hands, and all the Pokemon who were at the camp rushed up to Charmander and congratulated it.
"Congratulations!" Leaf too approached it, trying to suppress her excitement.
"Char.. char!" But when the lizard Pokemon politely thanked her by bowing slightly, she could not bear it anymore and crouched down to it.
As if on cue, all her Pokemon gathered around her, and the little charmander curiously looked at them.
"Do you want to become a part of our team?" She finally asked the question she had been rehearsing since the last few days.
"Char..?" It curiously tilted its head, and Leaf started telling him about all the adventures they would go on together.
"It's okay if you want to stay here. But I really want you to become a part of our Team." She hopefully said at the end, and all her Pokemon nodded their heads to her words.
Misty and Anira were standing a little away, hugging Houndour and Togepi in their arms. They knew that Leaf had really gotten attached to this Charmander, and they just hoped that the little fellow would agree to her proposal.
"Char.. Char Char.. Char!" It finally spoke, and even though Leaf could not really make out what he said, she got the gist of it because all her Pokemon excitedly cheered.
She carefully picked up the little fellow in her arms and then leaned in to plant a kiss on its head, which made the little Pokemon blush and rush out of her arms before accusingly pointing its finger at her.
"Char!" It showed its dissatisfaction, but there was no rage in its eyes, rather it looked a little too cute.
Leaf playfully stuck her tongue at it before fishing out a beautiful red and black Luxury Ball from her sachet, and showing it to Charmander.
The little Pokemon curiously looked at it before walking up to her and placing its hand on the ball, which initiated the catching mechanism.
The moment the ping sounded out, signalling the successful catch, tears brimmed out of her eyes and she hurriedly wiped them away before calling out Charmander.
"Come out!" She pressed the button on the ball, and the little Fire Pokemon appeard out of a bright white light.
"Welcome to the team!" She lovingly patted its head and then gently smiled at it. "I will call you Igneel from now on."
The name was already on her mind ever since she had first seen this little dude, and Charmander seemed to really like it as the flame on its tail flared up and it excitedly nodded its head.
"Char!"
It was a very smart Pokemon.
"Congratulations, Leaf!" Both Anira and Misty ran up to them and congratulated their dear friend.
"Thank you!" Leaf felt really warm in her heart.
"Let's go and inform Aizen about it!" Misty suggested, and the hazel-eyed girl nodded her head before rushing towards the place where they knew Aizen would be at.
When the girl arrived at the scene, they could not help but be stunned at what they witnessed.
There was a strange Snow-Flake Pokemon that was slowly spinning, levitating over the ground. And it was emanating a cold breeze up in the air, where both Aizen and Sabrina were levitating, sitting crossed-legged with their eyes closed.
They were both bring frozen by the Freeze-Dry, and they were not even bothering trying to retaliate against it. And then there was the Diamond Fairy, who was trying to get through them with her Diamond Storm.
The crystals she hurled at them constantly bombarded on the Psychic Shields that they had erected to protect themselves and Cryogonal with.
Mega Metagross, Mega Alakazam, and Delphox were on high alert, ready to help their Trainers out in case their Physic shields broke down under the assault of Diana. And all of them had erected a Dome-Shaped Psychic Shield that did not allow anyone to get near them and their Trainers.
Even after half an hour, both Aizen and Sabrina stayed strong, and by now, they were completely frozen by the Freeze-Dry and Icy Wind that the Snow-Flake Pokemon was constantly using.
At first, the girls and all their Pokemon were worried for them, but after Anira assured them that both of them were just testing their limits, they calmed down a little.
"Cryogonal, an Ice Pokemon. Cryogonal is a Pokémon which resembles a shiny, blue hexagonal snowflake. Its facial expression is frozen, which leaves Cryogonal with a still, aggressive-looking face. Two cracks run through its face, the upper opening contains its eyes, and the lower serves as a mouth. It has two glowing eyes and its large mouth contains an extendable chain of ice, which is used for hunting.
When its body heat rises it will turn into steam and vanish, but will revert to ice when the body temperature lowers. As a result, Cryogonal is rarely seen during the summer. It is born in snow clouds in the form of ice crystals. Cryogonal uses chains made of ice crystals with a temperature of -148° F to capture its prey. Cryogonal has been known to take the victims it encounters to an unknown location."
"All Cryogonal are Genderless."
"This Cryogonal has a Trianer."
"Wow..." Leaf was awed by how cool of a Pokemon Cryogonal was after she scanned it with her Pokedex. "Why do they say it looks angry? It's so cute!" She giggled and Anira could not help but join her.
"Yup!" The little Orayen Princess nodded her head and then looked back again at her brother.
Suddenly, the Cryogonal stopped using Icy-Wind, and Diana stopped using Diamond Storm at Aizen and Sabrina.
Cracks started appearing on the two frozen statues before shards of ice fell down at the place where Cryogonal had been levitating a moment ago.
Both of them opened their eyes and then slowly descended to the ground.
Arcanine, who had been patiently waiting a little away, immediately rushed forward and sat behind its Master.
Both Aizen and Sabrina leaned back into its comforting fur, and the allowed its body heat to help them regulate their own body temperature.
Even though Sabrina had no expressions on her face, her body was shivering to the cold that had already permeated inside it.
Aizen seemed a little better as he utilised his Aura to help heal himself, and once he was done, he pulled the raven-haired girl in his arms and started helping her heal as well.
As soon as their Psychic Pokemon dropped the defensive shield, their friends rushed forward.
"Bliss!" The evolution of chansey immediately approached them and started healing Sabrina, who soon stopped shivering, regaining some color on her face.
"Thank you!" She politely said to the evolution of Chansey, who happily nodded to her.
"Bliss!"
"You are crazy!" Misty could not help but say it out loud once Aizen stood up and flashed a bright smile at them.
"Thanks!" He chuckled and then curiously looked at the little Fire Pokemon that was standing next to Leaf.
"Congratulations!"
"Thank you!" Leaf happily smiled at him and then started laughing as the little silver foxed jumped at its Master, climbing onto his shoulder before giving some loveable licks.
"Vee!"
Anira was curiously looking at the Ice Pokemon, who was levitating in the air, right next to Sabrina.
She had never before seen a Cryogonal in person, and she found its shining icy-body quite intriguing.
Leaf too joined her in observing the Ice Pokemon, but cried out in surpise when a few Icy chains suddenly escaped its mouth and touched her cheek, sending cold chills in her body.
"Eehhh!!" She jumped back, and everyone around them started laughing at what just happened.
Anira laughed merrily as she shook hands with Cryogonal, holding onto its cold chain that threatened to melt away under her touch.
And then to the amazement of everyone, the Snow-Flake Pokemon suddenly started turning into steam, which engulfed everyone, making the summer day a lot more pleasant.
They absolutely loved the cool touch on their skins, and again watched in amazement as the Ice Pokemon materialised again.
"That's a powerful Cryogonal!" Anira called out in amazement.
For a Cryogonal to be able to turn into mist and materialise again, regardless of the temperature of the area, it only meant that it was very strong.
"It is." Sabrina nodded her head before she recalled all her Pokemon, except for Diana, back in their Pokeballs.
"Do you guys want to have lunch here, or should we head to the city?"
"I don't want to eat outside!" Misty immediately a announced and everyone nodded to her words before deciding to pack up and head back.
Now that they had managed to find Leaf her Fire Pokemon, they could finally have their Gym Battle tomorrow.
Aizen was not worried at all since he had a perfect team against a Fire-Type Gym, but Leaf was very nervous.
Almost all her Pokemon were either too weak for a Gym Battle, or were at a disadvantage against the Fire-Type Pokemon. This was arguably going to be her first real test in a Gym Challenge.
