110 Chapter 110
"And where is this Dr. Proctor now?" Aizen narrowed his eyes and asked after the girls informed him about what delayed them.
They were at the Neon City Battle Tower which provided the Trainers in the city a place to compete against each other.
A young Trainer was accidentally injured after a Hydro Pump of her own Pokémon hit her whilst she was battling Leaf. Since the hospital was nearby, they immediately took her there.
The girl was unconscious, but thankfully, there was nothing serious. The doctors assured them that everything was going to be fine and she would be good to go in a couple of days.
Relieved at knowing that everything was going to be okay, they toured around the Hospital before heading to the cafeteria for lunch.
When they were about to leave, they came across Sabrina's acquaintance, Dr. Fennel, who was also Professor Juniper's friend from college. She was visiting Kanto for sightseeing and had drunk a little too much last night which had given her a severe headache, the reason why she was here.
Fennel was excited to see Sabrina and immediately started chatting with the girls. She was quite amiable, and the girls found it very easy to get along with her.
They were about to enter the lift to head to the ground floor when she realised that her Pokémon was not with her.
It was a Munna, the dream eater Pokémon, and Fennel informed them that it was probably eating someone's dream as it usually wandered off to do it.
True to her guess, they found it in a nearby ward, where a girl, around the age of 15, looking quite frail with her pale complexion was sleeping.
Munna was a little distressed as a dark mist was surrounding it. Understanding that it must have eaten the nightmare of the sleeping girl, Fennel hugged her Pokémon to comfort it.
They were on their way down to the ground floor when Munna exhaled a mist that projected the dream she had eaten, and to the shock of the girls, it was a very disturbing dream where a man was forcing the girl to perform oral sex on him. The face of the man was quite clear, and the girls recognised him.
It was a Doctor at this Hospital whom they had seen earlier when he hit on Sabrina and Misty. He seemed like a womaniser, and they all knew that such a nightmare would only stem from a traumatic experience.
Fearing the worst, they headed to the Police Station and informed the officer in charge there about their fear, and after watching the dream for herself, Jenny was quite disturbed and promised to look into the matter.
"Fennel is with Officer Jenny, and Dr. Proctor was brought in for questioning before we left," Misty told him. "I just hope that it was a false alarm."
Even though she disliked the man and knew that the chances of the girl being sexually assaulted by Dr. Proctor were high, she was hoping that the dream had no truth behind it just for the sake of the sick girl.
"I hope so." He nodded to her words and then proceeded to finish his meal.
Leaf and Misty were not really in the mood to eat, still worrying over the matter, but Aizen, Anira, and Sabrina did not compromise on their food, mostly because whatever the result was, they were not too bothered by it.
If Dr. Proctor was guilty, the law would not let him off, and if he was innocent, all good.
The world was filled with such filth, and you could not really do anything about it other than trust in the laws.
Aizen had just excused himself and was about to leave for their suite when he heard Misty call out to someone.
"Fennel!" The Orange-haired girl waved to the brunette, who lightly smiled at them before approaching their table.
"Professor Aizen." Fennel recognised him at the first glance even though they had never met before.
"Dr. Fennel." He shook her hand and then together with everyone, walked out on the lawn outside the cafeteria. "I am sorry to hear about your Dreamyard Research. Hope you and Musharna are doing well now."
The girls seemed surprised by his words, and even Anira looked curious since she did not know about it.
Fennel sighed after she heard his words and nodded her head.
"We are doing fine now." She smiled at him. "Would you like to meet Musharna?"
"Of course." He nodded his head with a bright smile, which eased all of her distressing thoughts, making her cheeks warm up a little.
Aizen and the girls curiously looked at the Musharna whom Fennel called out. It was quite a big one and floated in the air, still asleep.
He smiled at it as he tried to telepathically reach it, which woke it up, and then he stepped forward and gently caressed its head.
"Nice to meet you."
"Musharna..." It cutely replied to him and the girls could not help their smiles at its sweet voice.
"What was the Dreamyard project?" Misty curiously asked, and Fennel proceeded to tell her about the research she was working on with two other scientists.
"We were doing our research on Musharna's Dream Mist, and despite getting a lot of success, the project was ultimately abandoned after an accident..." She informed them of everything that happened including their findings. "After the explosion happened and the facility was destroyed, the project was banned by the Unova Council deeming it dangerous and unethical. People, no matter how good they seem, can be full of filth and corrupt thoughts. I wish we never had put Musharna through it all, going through the dreams of all those corrupt people." She had tears in he eyes as she recalled how Musharna's Dream Mist had turned black because of it and eventually led to an energy overload, causing a massive explosion.
"Musharna..." The Pokémon floated to her and nuzzled its face against hers.
"She looks healthy and is in perfect state. Also, she's quite happy to be around you. You should not be too hard on yourself. It makes her feel sad."
"I try. But I can't help it." She sighed and brightly smiled before hugging Musharna. "Good morning!"
"Musharna..." The Pokémon replied and both Aizen and Anira lightly laughed.
"What?" Fennel frowned.
"She's telling you that it is nighttime not morning." Anira stuck her tongue at her and then they all laughed together.
After Fennel recalled Musharna, she told them about what happened after the girls left the Police Station.
"He has been found guilty after an Alakazam found him lying to the questions and is in custody. They have submitted a request to go through his mind to check on all counts of crimes that he has committed. Officer Jenny thinks that he must have done the same to other patients."
"Bastard!" Misty clenched her fist hard, ready to smash something with it, and Leaf looked quite depressed.
Aizen sensed that Leaf was very disturbed after hearing those words. She was a very innocent girl at heart. And he gently placed his hand on her head, giving her the pats that she loved so much.
She raised her head, and seeing his smile, her heart felt at ease.
"You have a Gym Match in the morning, sleep early." He reminded her.
"I know. I will finish it faster than you finished yours!" She brightly said, making everyone smile, and even Misty let go of her rage and smiled lightly at her friend.
"I suppose it means you won your Gym Match?" Fennel looked at Aizen and smiled.
"I did."
"Congratulations on your eighth Gym Badge!" She sincerely said. "You can finally unlock all your privileges that have been held back."
"True." He chuckled. "I was just about to go and see Nurse Joy. My Roster can now be increased to 16 and I want to call over some of my Pokémon."
"Lucky you." Fennel giggled.
"Hmph!" And Misty pouted when she heard his words.
They all knew how the License and Perk system worked.
At the start of their Journey, all Trainers could only carry 6 Pokémon on them. B-Class Trainers gained a +1 increase on their Roster after acquiring 8 Gym Badges or 5 Ribbons, whilst A-Class Trainers gained +2 on the Roster for it.
New Trainers were not supposed to have all the Perks Aizen had on his license, and he had the highest Perks Possible, the Diamond Perks.
Each Perk was quite useful, and just like how a Silver Perk got you +2 space on Roster, Golden, Platinum, and Diamond each earned you +2 as well.
Aizen was probably the only person in the world to have attained Diamond Perk before winning 8 Badges or participating in an official Tournament, which meant that he could not gain the +2 Roster Space of the Diamond Perks, which specifically required someone to have, at least, 8 Gym Badges or to have participated in a Grand Festival or a Pokémon League.
"You should focus on your upcoming Breeder's Exam if you want more space on your Roster. Getting a Golden Perk is not easy." He flicked Misty's nose, which caused her to sneeze, prompting everyone to laugh at it.
"I will get it on my first attempt." She confidently said, and he shrugged at her.
"I hope so." He said and turned around to walk inside the building.
"Hey!" Misty was not pleased that he seemingly showed no confidence in her and ran after him, ready to question him about it. And the rest of the girls smiled at each other before following them.
