Chapter 28: A Duel With Another Psychic User
Arriving outside of Saffron City, Soul could see Team Rocket's building from where he stands.
Soul: 'After the gym.'
He thought as he headed straight to where the gym is. He wanted to finish this fight as quickly as possible before infiltrating Team Rocket Headquarters.
Arriving in front of the gym, there was nobody that was here to greet him. The place seemed more abandon than a gym, but he knew that the gym leader was inside.
Taking a deep breath, he went to open the door as he arrived where the battlefield is, and in front of him stood the gym leader, Sabrina.
Another psychic user just like him…
Walking to the battlefield, Sabrina with her doll looked over at Soul nonchalantly.
Sabrina: Are you here for the gym battle?
Soul: Yes, and you've must be Sabrina, the leader of this gym.
Sabrina: Hmm… you're looking pretty cute, when I defeat you, you will become my dolls forever.
Soul: Sorry, but I don't have any plan on losing nor becoming others doll, today.
Sabrina: We'll see about that.
There were no judges in this battle. All of them got scared by Sabrina and left, but both of them knew the rules very well as they took out their Pokeballs.
Sabrina: Go Alakazam.
Soul: Anubis you're up.
When Sabrina saw Anubis, she became shocked inside, but still remain a stoic face on the outside.
Sabrina's Alakazam could feel the opponent powerful aura in front of them and begins to get nervous, but that didn't mean it would give up.
Soul: Let's start this battle, Anubis use Thunder Punch. 'Behind it.'
Anubis suddenly in a blink left a crack on the ground with some dust left before appearing again behind Alakazam with its left hand on Thunder.
Sabrina: 'Alakazam quick use teleport and get out of there!'
Alakazam managed to teleport but was still hit for a second as it falls on its knees.
Sabrina: 'What was that kind of power? This little boy is the strongest challenger I've had met, yet.'
Anubis looked at Sabrina's Alakazam indifferently. He waited for Soul command, as he kept an eye on his opponent.
Sabrina: 'Alakazam use Psychic.'
Alakazam's body begins to glow as it used Psychic on Anubis, but it didn't work at all. Seeing this, Sabrina became panicked.
As a Psychic Pokemon trainer, there was only one type that she was her biggest weakness, and that was a dark-type Pokemon.
Soul: 'Anubis finish this with Sucker Punch.'
Before Sabrina could think, her Alakazam was hit on the stomach by Anubis Sucker Punch, which is effective against it.
Its body flew as it slammed on one of the pillars, destroying it. After the dust was cleared, Alakazam's body could be seen, fainted.
Sabrina's expression was now clearly surprised by the event that unfolded in front of her, as she looked at Soul and Anubis as if they were monsters.
Soul walked calmly to where Sabrina stood with Anubis behind him. He took out his left hand in front of her.
Sabrina took our a badge and gave it to him before she walked over to the fainted Alakazam. Before she walked, she said.
Sabrina: Are you a psychic user like me, too?
Soul smiled and took out one finger and put it on his mouth with his right eye closing.
Soul: It's a secret~
Sabrina was annoyed by this, but didn't say anything more and went her Pokemon and partner.
Soul also left the gym with his 6th gym badge. His mood went a little up as he went to rent a room in Pokecenter for tonight and took a quick nap.
5 hours later…
Waking up with a hungry stomach, Soul went to grab some snacks to fill his stomach and ate it in Pokecenter today.
While he was eating the news went on. He didn't think too much of it and just watch it without concern.
5 minutes later…
While Soul was drinking his water, another news came out. As a middle-aged man and woman who was the news reporter of the news in Kanto.
News man: Today we have shocking news! Yesterday, the ancient ruin that lies in the forest of Route 6 between Vermillion- and Saffron City collapsed.
The picture changed to where the ancient ruin lay and it looked almost to nothing after the event.
News woman: Yes, luckily, no one got hurt from the sudden event. What even more shocking news is that a person have caught a picture of the culprit. Here it is.
When Soul saw the picture, he almost chocked on his food, but luckily he managed to get the water bottle and drank it.
Looking closely at the picture again, it was shown a person and a Pokemon with one of their eyes glowed under the moonlight, making them look mysterious and scary, but somewhat cool at the same time, too.
News man: Who is this person? What was he/she doing there? And what is that Pokemon? There already many speculations about it, and the League would try and find this person. They're would offer a bounty for useful information about him/her.
News woman: The next news is about the upcoming movie, Pokemon Dreamland…
Soul didn't want to hear more as he finished eating his food and walked to the forest and decide to stay there until it was night time.
Soul went out to call all of his Pokemons out as when they first saw Anubis, their eyes shined with curiosity and awed.
They all went to congrats him for finally evolving as Anubis cheeks became a bit red from all the attention and praise he got.
Soul didn't say anything and allowed them to do their things, as he went to make large portion food for his Pokemons.
When he finished making the food, he called out his Pokemons for foods, as they took their bowl and went to eat together.
Some wild Pokemons came by too and wants to eat Soul's homemade Pokemon foods. Soul who still has some leftovers gave it to them, which they happily accepted and begins to eat closely to Soul because they could feel someone was staring at them.
They could feel that if Soul wasn't here they all would probably be beaten down by now. It didn't help when they clung into Soul as the killing intent became stronger.
Soul, who didn't care about his Pokemon staring at the wild Pokemons with clear killing intents connect his phone with headphones, as he heard some music and rested on the grass.
Soul: 'The sky seemed nice today.'
