I suppose then that I'm gonna prove to them that I'm worth it! Though he thinks he'll be a Pokemon Researcher first before going out on his great adventure. Watch Paul Crimson as he grows up in a whole new world. Join his journey as he travels towards greatness. Witness him step out of the shadow his parents have shaded him to bathe into the light and glory he aims to be in. Watch out Pokemon World! Paul Crimson is coming! Disclaimer: I do not own the cover and the Pokemon Series. I will update sporadically whenever I have the time and will to write. This story is slow-paced because he always has a lot to do even at a young age. Especially when he focuses on being a Pokemon Researcher before he starts his journey. This story is more on how Paul will grow up in the Pokemon World, and what he would do with his once-in-a-lifetime given opportunity. It will also have a minor BL theme, though it won't show in abundance until it's already three-fourths of the story. If you're uncomfortable with that, please read at your discretion. Reviews are welcomed, but please criticize with sense and logic, and not for the sake of criticism.

Paul scanned Ditto again now that it was his Pokemon.

Ditto's specific level was 10. Paul's now wondering what the specific level of his parents' Dittos were. He then recalled that he has an item that could improve a pokemon's potential. Looking at his inventory, he saw what he was looking for, the [Pokemon Optimizer].

[Pokemon Optimizer]

- A tube that contains a fluid that could help optimize the gene sequence of a Pokemon, thus improving its potential. There are chances for a Pokemon to learn a new innate move as its potential improves.

- Improves Pokemon's potential with at least two color shades and a maximum of five color shades.

He thought about for a moment if he would let Ditto consume this resource. As he searched the store, a Pokemon Optimizer costs 5000 Quest Points. That was hard to earn, he assumes, as it takes around five A-level quests, with a completion rate of A+, or five S-level quests with any completion rate. It could also be exchanged through prestige points, with the currency of 1 QP: 1,100 PP. In total, it would cost exactly 5,500,000 Prestige Points.

However, thinking of his plans in the future, Paul might have plenty of ways to earn prestige points. For quest points, Paul wasn't sure if there are any quests for him currently. Thinking about it, Paul decided to check his [Quest] tab in the system.

'Hey, system, how come I haven't received any notifications regarding the completion of a quest? Or even the notification for receiving the quest?' Paul questioned the system.

[The host did not enable the notification mode.]

'Isn't that supposed to be automatic?' He retorted.

[The system does not presume over its host. If you mind, please turn on the notification mode.]

'What a crappy service' Paul grumbled.

[If you have any issues, please report to the authorities above.]

'I could report you? Why did I never know that?'

[Yes. Because you never asked. ( ͡❛  ͟ʖ ͡❛) ]

Paul just stayed quiet for a moment, before replying 'How can I report you?'

[Complain all your issues to me, then I would process it before sending it to the authorities.]

'Oh, okay. Then who are the authorities?' He continued to ask.

[Me. ( ͡❛ ₃ ͡❛) ]

Paul was stunned speechless. This system of his was certainly crazy.

[Please refrain on speaking derogative terms to the system. If the system minded, you would have no assistance if it decided. (✿´‿`) ]

'Oh, I wasn't criticizing you. I was mentioning what a crazily good system you are. That's all.' Paul flatteringly said while wiping his imaginary sweat.

The system finally did not respond to that. To make no further issues, Paul just silently commanded 'Enable notification mode.'

[Notification mode activated. Please be prepared on notifications popping out of nowhere.]

So that's why it wasn't automatically turned on. He might get a heart attack if notifications popped up out of nowhere. Paul then decided to get his rewards on the [F-level quest – Own a Pokemon].

[F-level Quest – Own a Pokemon completed.]

[F+ Completion Rate.]

[97 QP acquired.]

'That makes sense.' Paul thought. He acquired the system today, which means that he also received the quest today. Receiving and finishing the quest within a day, specifically around 2 hours, is really a good completion time. Paul then searched the Store to see the prices of the items that could be bought with QP.

The items that could be bought with QP are Evolution Stones/Items, Items, Legendary Resources, and Pokemon Optimizers. Evolution Stones includes Fire Stones, Moon Stones, Dawn Stones, etc. While Evolution Items includes Reaper's Cloth, Magmarizer, King's Rock, Metal Coat, etc. Items include Pokeballs, Medicine, Held Items, and General Items. There were Legendary Resources too, such as Ho-oh's Rainbow Feather, or Groudon's Earth Scale, and lastly, Pokemon Optimizers.

Evolution Stones mostly costs around 500 QP to 2,000 QP. Low-grade stones which have no effect to a pokemon's potential costs 500 QP. Mid-grade stones which raise a pokemon's potential by one shade costs 1000 QP. High-grade stones which raise a pokemon's potential by two shades costs 1500 QP. Top-grade stones which raise a pokemon's potential by three shades costs 2000 QP.

Evolution Items are like Evolution Stones, it's just that their item prices differ by raising the price of each grade by 1,000 QP. So, the price of Evolution Items spanning from Low-grade, Mid-grade, High-grade, and Top-grade costs, 1500 QP, 2000 QP, 2500 QP, and 3000 QP respectively.

Items largely differ on prices depending on its use and efficacy. It spans from 10 QP for a pokeball up to Old Amber which costs 5000 QP. While there are Legendary Resources, they are crazily expensive. Their price was as high as 10,000 QP. Lastly, the Pokemon Optimizer which costs 5,000 QP on the store.

For Paul, it is not necessary to buy all things from the system as other items could be bought in real life with money. Quest Points are important to be stored for items that could not be purchased with money or items that could not be found. As Paul's family was quite loaded, he was not that pressed to use the Quest Points for miscellaneous stuffs.

After all the checking and thinking, Paul finally decided to let Ditto use the [Pokemon Optimizer].

'Ditto, I would give you something to drink. Drink it carefully as it would help you improve your potential, okay?' Paul telepathically said to Ditto.

"Ditto~!" It replied. Retrieving the [Pokemon Optimizer] from the system inventory, Paul then opened the tube by removing the rubber cork that seals it. He then let Ditto drink the content inside the test tube.

Ditto then was covered with white light. Its height noticeably grew from 0.3 meters to 0.45 meters. The white light lasted up to one minute, then it slowly faded away. Shiny Ditto reappeared in its normal base form, which was a blue-like blob but visibly larger than most of its species.

Nervously, Paul tried to scan his Ditto.

What do you think about the pricing of the store? Was the currency exchange understandable? Don't worry, the prestige system would be explained in the future chapters. What do you think Ditto's new potential would be? Write down your thoughts below! Reviews are welcomed. Also, remember to vote your power stones! Thank you!
