The Granite region?

"I wanna be! The very best!"  Jeffery started to sing as we walked to reach the cave.

"like no one ever was!" 

i decided to join in the singing since there was nothing else to do but Chloe just rolled her eyes holding her pokemon in hand.

"To catch them is  my real test."

"to train them is my caaause!" 

"Pokemon!"   

"I will travel across the land searching far and wide!"

"Teach pokemon to understand the power that's insiiiide!"

"Can you guys stop already?"  Chloe looked slightly irritated.

"buzz kill."  we both mumbled as we kept walking in silence. 

It was getting late and the sun was going down.

Though we were a decent distance from the cave Chloe insisted we rest  right here for the day.

Something tells me she doesn't want to go in the cave especially when it's dark out so we decided to listen to her and set up a camp.

"Hey Ayuna, can you get us some more firewood?" Jeffery asked me.

He was cooking something with the berries he found nearby and the charmander   was helping him.

"Ok!" 

"Let's go Zorua." 

Zoura wagged its tail excitedly following me further into the woods.

"You sure you should be sending him?" Chloe looked  off in the distance worried.

"He'll be fine." For some reason Jeffery had full faith that I won't die out there.

"What  if he randomly faints again-" At this point a lot of possibilities were running through Chloe's  head and  she seemed a little uneasy.

Jeffery lets out a sigh he doesn't know what would calm her down.

"Ok! so we need wood." I looked around for any branch I could use for firewood but it was all hard to find under the piles of snow. Zorua was trying to help me out too.

"This should be enough." I said holding so many branches I could barely hold them all.

 "What do you think of Zorua?"  

Zorua's mouth was full with two small branches it found on the ground; she looked pleased with herself.

I let out a small laugh but not too long after hearing screeches in the background.

"What the hell-" I looked in the direction of the noise.

"Did you hear that?" I looked at Zorua who also looked frightened  by the sound.

Someone might be in trouble...

I dropped the branches and started to run in the direction of the noise.

Zorua started to panic but followed me anyway.

"Hey! Everything ok??" I shouted.

weirdly no response even the screeches stopped.

"God damn it'-"

 I heard a voice further in the forest.

I kept running towards the voice until I saw a woman just coming out of Cerulean cave in bruises. She had green eyes and glasses to help her see.

The woman was wearing a lab coat which was torn in multiple  places and her black hair was a mess.

"you ok?" I asked the woman who was dusting herself off.

"yeah I'm....fine."  The woman adjusted her glasses and looked straight at me with a look of confidence.

"Nice to meet you, I'm professor Adams." 

"Hey I'm Ayuna, nice to meet you." 

I looked around the place.

"say-  professor, do you know where those screeching noises came from?"

"Oh, they were from Zubats. I was looking at the drastic changes in the caves when I was attacked." 

"Zubats..what's that?"  

The professor was in disbelief.

"How do you not know what a Zubat is, aren't you a pokemon trainer?? ... you know what nevermind." 

"Ayuna!" someone called my name from behind me.

It was Chloe and Jeffery.

Both of them were out of breath but u could tell I was in for a lecture from her.

"Where have you been?" 

I pointed to the professor .

"I was talking to the professor." 

"Hi Professor Adams. Nice to meet you."

"Oh this is Chloe and Jeffery they travel with me." 

"Nice to meet  you." they both said at the same time.

"if you don't mind me asking professor what are you doing out here-" Jeffery was curious as to why a professor would be out in a cave at the dead of night and honestly I don't blame him.

"There were reports of drastic changes in the caves and other areas of the Kanto region." The professor started to explain.

"Some even claimed to see an entire new region just south from here." 

"They say the people that live there call it the granite region." 

"The Granite region?"  that was a weird region name...

"yes I've heard that name before..." Chloe spoke up.

"Indeed you might have. It's also the name of a  region that fell over 100 years ago. They say the region was destroyed by a fight between  Groudon and Kyogre." 

"Wait, isn't it near Kanto then how-" Jeffery was cut off by the professor.

"if you'd let me finish.. The region is located in such a way where it has pokemon from Hoenn, Kanto, Johto and Aloha  naturally, there are some imported pokemon from the unova and kalos region for reasons we have yet to find out." 

"So you're telling me that somehow they managed to come back?" 

Chloe was really into this conversation it seems.

She forgot all about being close to the cave at night.

"Though it's a theory of many people that the 

The Granite region came back. It's also disproved by the amount of technology they have way past the modern age when it comes to tech.

Even their gym system is far different from ours."

The professor fixes her glasses.

"but anyways that enough of me rambling i-" 

The pokemon Chloe had in her arms caught her eyes.

"woah is that a toxel?"

"you know the name of it?" Chloe was amazed.

"of course if you just used your pokedex you'd  get the information right  away." 

"uuuhh...what's a pokedex?" We all said simultaneously.

"Unbelievable- how are you all trainers?" 

The professor sighed.

"Nevermind I still have some in my campsite. I'll lead you the way if you'd like." 

"So you're just gonna give it to us?"  Chloe was a bit skeptical of the idea.

"Of course it's my duty as a pokemon professor."

We continued to talk to the professor and was given an hour to gather all our things before going into the cave.

Professor  Adams mentioned it will be a longer journey than normal since the cave changes so drastically but I'm ready for it!
