15 First Group Fight

"Web String Shot."

This was a test for Weedle and him, so Natsu gave it all of his attention.

"Woo!"

Weedle felt the pressure too, but its backbone was still there as long as Natsu was in command. It opened its mouth and formed a spider web woven from white silk threads.

This was the product of many attempts to train and learn Electro Web. Although it was not covered in Electric Type energy yet, after changing the shape of the String Shot, it had a higher hit rate and a larger coverage area.

One flying Spearow was cocooned in an instant. The sticky String Shot web wrapped around it, sticking to the feathers all over its body, which directly caused it to plummet to the ground.

One down, two to go.

"Poison Sting, aim for the one on the left."

Natsu watched the remaining two Spearows attacking regardless, the wind howling violently as they approached. His hair fluttered wildly, but he didn't mean to back down.

Since he had decided to take on this task, he was ready for a one-to-many approach. Weedle responded quickly to his commands.

The sharp protrusion on the top of its head lit up with a purple halo, and the three Poison Stings shot out almost simultaneously. They flew swiftly through the air and disappeared into Spearow's body in just a blink of an eye.

Spearow, who was in pain, stumbled and fell from the sky.

The last one left!

Although Weedle used two moves to limit the two Spearows, the time spent also allowed the last Spearow to have the opportunity to approach.

This Spearow was also brilliant; it noticed that the Weedle was not easy to deal with but, at the same time, responded to the human's commands. So it directly ignored Weedle and locked the target on the weak human.

Its sharp beak glowed with white light. Flying Type move, Peck!

With the power of a Pokémon, as long as the move successfully hit Natsu, it would definitely cause massive trauma to him. If the location of the hit is fatal, it may even kill Natsu directly.

Natsu stared at Spearow as it approached with a sullen face.

"Weedle!" Weedle yelled anxiously.

"Stop!" Natsu said without looking back.

Spearow's linear flight is when its attack power is the most terrifying. The inertia and gravity adding to the momentum brought by flying straight to the target will result in a destructive attack.

However, this attack method also had significant drawbacks. The trajectory of the attack was utterly predictable. This is where the advantages of training with Weedle for a long time would come into play.

Natsu's whole body became tense. There was strong explosive power hidden in his thin body.

When Spearow's attack was about to land, Natsu, who predicted the attack's trajectory aiming at his head, squatted down immediately.

Whoosh——

To Spearow's surprise, it swiped the top of Natsu's head and charged straight towards the ground behind him.

Natsu was prepared for a situation like this ever since he knew that the Pokémon of this world would attack humans. Training with Weedle was not only to strengthen the tacit understanding and trust with Weedle but also to keep himself from being unresponsive in the face of wild Pokémon's attacks.

Although the human physique in this world was more robust than in the previous life due to various factors, in the face of Pokémon, it does not make a big difference.

Not everyone can survive Thunderbolt every day like Ash. Not everyone can take a free flight when attacked like the Team Rocket trio.

Natsu can't do what they do, but at least he can give himself some resilience.

"Solve it!"

Natsu said coldly after crouching down to avoid Spearow's fatal blow.

Weedle's tiny eyes were full of fury. It was angry that it almost failed to protect Natsu and even more furious that Spearow attacked its Trainer directly.

"Woo!" It let out a low growl filled with rage.

Three Poison Stings shot out from the top of its head. It may be due to anger, but without its deliberate control, the three Poison Stings shot out this time were covered with a layer of thick purple mist.

Puff——

"Spearow!!"

The three Poison Stings submerged into its body in unison, and the Spearow crashed down with a scream. It had just ended its previous attack and hadn't generated its momentum back, so there was no chance to dodge.

The Poison Sting did much more damage this time around. The corrosiveness brought by the toxin directly corroded the feathers. He saw that three circles of dull purple spread rapidly on Spearow's body. Natsu glanced in surprise at Spearow's miserable state and the scowl on Weedle's face that had not yet wholly faded.

Weedle's Poison Type ability had been greatly enhanced under the rage. It seems that Weedle still has some potential that has not been discovered and tapped into. He has roughly determined the future training direction. Such an idea flashed through Natsu's mind.

But now is clearly not the time to focus on that.

Standing on the tree branch, the Spearow Boss saw his three subordinates lost one after another, prepared to enter the fight.

"Deal with the incapacitated two first."

Natsu's gaze locked onto the Spearow Boss, ready to respond at any time while letting Weedle deal with the two previously restricted Spearows.

Weedle nodded back. It was in a strange state, where energy was surging uncontrollably in its body. It didn't react but was noticed by the keenly-observing Natsu.

Two consecutive Poison Stings solved the Spearows on the ground.

Natsu's eyebrows knitted as he eyed the Spearow Boss. Because Spearow is a Pokémon of Normal and Flying Type, the damage of Bug Type moves would be halved. Therefore, Natsu didn't want Weedle to use Bug Bite, even though it was its strongest move.

Also, Bug Bite requires Weedle to be in close range but getting close to Spearow obviously puts Weedle at a disadvantage.

"Spear!!"

A louder chirp was heard. The Spearow Boss had launched itself when it saw that its two remaining minions were about to be dealt with. It was folded in white light and moved in a zigzag fashion through the air. Its speed was obviously much faster than the previous Spearow.

"Quick Attack." Looking at the zigzag trail of light, Natsu's heart sank.

Sure enough, being the leader of several Spearows, it still has a bit of skill. Weedle's pre-emptive String Shot was extremely limited and became nothing but decoration in the face of such speed.

"Woooo!" Weedle followed Spearow's movement closely, but its face was a little anxious because it knew it couldn't hit Spearow. And if it is approached by Spearow, it definitely wouldn't be the first one to suffer. It would be Natsu!

This was not acceptable to Weedle.

"Don't panic and forget what I taught you! Since you can't be sure that you can hit the enemy 100%, it's better to give up some opportunities to attack appropriately." Natsu's steady voice rang in Weedle's ears.

"No matter how fast it is, it will definitely reveal its flaws at the moment of impact. What you need to do is to seize that fleeting opportunity."
