"Your Pokemon leveled up."

"Your Pokemon leveled up."

"Your Pokemon leveled up."

"Your Pokemon leveled up."

Various messages popped up one after the other as the opponents in the simulated battle were defeated. While Lucas was in the Orre region, he would be limited to this single leveling method. With his Pokemon so weak, the moment he leaves, he becomes fresh meat for Pokemon hunters or Cipher's team.

"Your Pokemon is evolving~"

"Congratulations, you got a Charmeleon!~"

"Your Pokemon is evolving~"

"Congratulations, you got a Frogadier~"

"Your Pokemon is evolving~"

"Congratulations, you got a Vibrava~"

It had been 3 months since Lucas started this intensive training routine. Whether it was physical training or leveling up, Lucas focused on them consistently. As there was no need before, he avoided using TMs so that his Pokemon could get used to his commands and adapt.

Any experienced trainer would know that overwhelming a Pokemon with multiple moves while it's not mature would hinder its growth and could even harm it. There were several reasons for Lucas to avoid such situations, and one of them was that his Pokemon weren't mature enough. Even if he forced a move on them, it could do more harm than good, and they might not be able to learn the move at all.

Imagine trying to teach moves like Fire Blast or Thunder Punch to a Charmander. Besides being ridiculous, it's impossible for a Pokemon in its early stage to learn such a powerful move.

Lucas adapted the method of consistency and stability. As long as there was no extreme reason to use such methods without his Pokemon being prepared, he wouldn't use them at all.

"Vibrava viiiiiiiiii."

"Three months to reach level 50," Lucas observed his Pokemon happily showing off their new forms to each other. The former Trapinch, now in its new form as Vibrava, was full of life and flying around the room, screaming loudly.

"Braaaaavaaaaa."

Even though he tried to speed up the process, it wasn't possible because constant battles would tire and injure his Pokemon. So, he spent a lot of time waiting for them to recover to their best condition.

"They all reached level 50... Time to start with the plans." Lucas left the room, leaving his Pokemon comfortably in the room while they adapted to their new forms.

Walking through the corridor, he headed to the central part of the laboratory where he would find Lily. She was the only one responsible for allowing any type of transmission to happen outside of the headquarters. Lucas had a Rotom Dex, which could bypass this part of the system, but he preferred not to use such means because he didn't want to damage their relationship.

Seeing Lucas entering her laboratory area, Lily temporarily stopped what she was doing on her computer and gave her full attention to the young man in front of her. At first, she was cautious and constantly monitored his actions to see if he was real or a spy. But over time, the connections Lucas had made with Professor Sycamore cleared all her doubts.

Since then, she decided to support Lucas in any way she could.

"What do you need?" She asked calmly, already noticing that his Pokemon had evolved a few minutes ago and had an idea of the reason for his visit.

"Evolution stones."

She understood the thoughts of trainers, especially Lucas and his current situation where he wanted to gain strength quickly. The quickest way would be to strengthen his Pokemon and evolve them in the best possible way.

"I'd like to buy some water, fire, and ground evolution stones if you have them."

"Follow me."

After walking through a few corridors and descending a staircase that led to a well-guarded compartment, she lowered her head, and an apparatus scanned her iris, then she placed her hand on the panel, and the door opened.

"Welcome, Professor Lily. Access granted."

The door opened, and Lucas was impressed by the terrifying amount of items inside. He even felt tempted to steal some, but he restrained himself...

"These items, how did you acquire so many?" Lucas was intrigued; even though it was a laboratory, it shouldn't have so many items. It was too much.

"Throughout the war and attacks on Cipher bases, as well as defeating and capturing some Pokemon hunters along the way, we obtained a large quantity of items of all kinds. Since they weren't used much or we took them in large quantities during raids, they ended up here," Lily explained nonchalantly how they got so many items.

"Since they were acquired in war and taken by force, I'll give you a cheaper price for them," Lily told a small lie, but she didn't mind earning less. Having a good connection with trainers like him was more important for researchers like her.

It was a win-win situation.

At first, Lucas only wanted a few stones and even thought about bargaining, but with the vast quantity of items that he wouldn't be able to get his hands on anytime soon, he became very tempted and, with the woman's hint, he quickly made up his mind.

Lucas pulled out his Rotom Dex and calmly analyzed its information, as well as his linked wallet.

"First, I need 5 evolution stones of each type for my Pokemon." Lucas politely requested the first items from Lily. He didn't expect Lucas to have so much money in his account, but he didn't mind spending it all.

'He must be generous,' Lucas chuckled, feeling no pain in burning all that money. After all, it wasn't "his" anyway.

"The price for you is 150,000 Pokédollars." Lily brought the evolution stones and placed them on a table in front of Lucas.

[Fire Stone]

[°Description > Reduces a Pokemon's evolution condition by 10 levels of the fire type.]

[Water Stone]

[°Description > Reduces a Pokemon's evolution condition by 10 levels of the water type.]

[Ground Stone]

[°Description > Reduces a Pokemon's evolution condition by 10 levels of the ground type.]

It was an essential item for any player in the world. Besides reducing the evolution condition, it could also be stacked up to 5 stones, reducing the conditions by up to 50%. In some cases, it could even trigger an instant evolution in certain Pokemon.

"I want this Mystic Water Necklace, this Choice Scarf, Shell Bell, Fire, Water, and Ground Gems, and this Eviolite. Cleanse Tag." There were some good items like the Flame Orb, but Lucas felt that he didn't need them at the moment. Soon, his eyes fell on some TMs, and hestarted requesting them.

"Thunder Punch."

"Fire Blast."

"Dragon Claw."

"Facade."

"Aerial Ace."

"Extrasensory."

"Ice Beam."

Soon, Lucas's momentum slowed down as he realized that he probably wouldn't be able to buy everything he wanted. TMs were very expensive, and the items were even more so. There were still many items he wanted to buy. However, according to Lily, all the items he bought cost 4,000,000 Pokédollars.

It was cheap. Extremely cheap, and Lucas knew it. The items he bought from her could easily have amounted to 10,000,000. She reduced the price by almost 60%, and Lucas would remember her kindness.

"What is this?" Lucas approached and picked up a sphere he would recognize anywhere. Lily also approached the small sphere Lucas was holding and shook her head. "I don't know what it is. Even after researching, I didn't get many results, so it ended up down here with all the other items," Lily said helplessly. She knew this item was a great find, but she didn't know what it was.

Her instincts as a woman and a researcher told her that much. "Do you know what it is?" From Lucas's reaction, Lily was sure he knew.

"It's no surprise she doesn't know. This is a Sceptilite Mega Stone," admiring the stone in his hand, Lucas smiled. Mega Evolution was still something unknown, and progress in its research was slow. His research wasn't published, and not many people knew about Mega Evolution, only those close to Professor Sycamore and the director of Paldea, who accepted Lucas.

There would be no chance for a researcher from the Orre region to know something like this, especially not something related to a region as distant as Kalos or Paldea. Mega Evolution wasn't even a possibility for them, let alone an existence.

"How much do you want for this stone?"

Lily became a little curious about why he wanted this stone and was even more certain that he knew what it was. "Intriguing." She smiled for a moment and decided, "You can simply keep it; I have no use for it." She shrugged as if she didn't care.

"But..." She said, looking into his eyes, her expression and voice leaving no room for negotiation. "The condition is that when you find out what this stone does, you tell me and show me what it is." Then, she took out a Pokenav from her wrist, and her bank account appeared.

"You can make the deposit."

Lucas just laughed at her action and asked his Rotom Dex to make the transfer to Lily.

"This is quite convenient. I'm a little jealous." Lily felt a bit bitter; she also wanted to have a Rotom Dex! It would save her in so many imaginable ways. It could even do the shopping for her!

"Now I need a Sceptile. Haha." Lucas murmured softly.

"It looks like I need to ask Professor Sycamore for a favor..."
