106 Punching the Monkey

The next day

After everyone got up and got ready they prepared themselves to finally get back on the road, not without Misty trying to convince the group to stay for just a little bit longer which failed.

So the group got back on the road, and their next destination was Celadon, which meant they needed to travel through Route 7, which would probably only take a day or two. But Ash did want to catch the last few Pokemon he would get in Kanto.

Eventually, they stopped for lunch at around 12:30

Brock was setting up his pan and ingredients, "So what are we feeling today, I was feeling like Curry Rice but I'm open for suggestions."

"Just as long as you don't put carrots in this time," Misty yelled over as she was polishing Starmie's gem.

"I'm good with it."

"Yeah anything is fine"

"Alright it'll be ready in a bit," Brock said as he spun the pan in his hands and put it on the fire.

Meanwhile, Ash took out his egg from the incubator, looking at it it was healthy since it was in the incubator, but on the outside it's been a week, but from the Egg's point of view, it's been multiple months since he sped up time so it would hatch faster.

That pretty much confirmed what this egg was, since it is taking so long it means that whatever is inside will become extremely powerful but he didn't have a good way to estimate how much longer until it hatched.

The only breeder knowledge he has is from a 30-minute lecture from Professor Elm and Brock, neither of which helped him in this situation, so Ash could only sigh and rub the egg with some Aura for better bonding when it does hatch.

Ash put it back in the incubator and back into his 'bag' looking over to everyone he decided to get it over with.

He got up and put his hat on Pikachu who was cuddling onto Charizard's stomach for warmth, Charizard himself was taking a nap.

"Hey guys I'll be back in about 5-7 minutes," Ash said as he started walking away.

"What are you going to do this time, Punch a Monkey," Misty said sarcastically.

Ash stopped and looked back and only gave a smile as a response.

"Wait no- I was joking you're actually going to do that, what's wrong with you!" Misty yelled, but by that point, Ash already walked off.

Ash on the other hand went ahead and walked through the forest around them he knew exactly where he was comparatively to the Anime but other than that he didn't have much to go off.

As Ash was walking he was fiddling with his Pokedex, "Man, I wonder if I can get a dex nav on this thing or a Pokemon radar, that would make things so much easier."

In the end, he didn't find anything new, until he heard something, it was faint and sounded like the sounds of a Battle, and he recognized the type of cry it was.

He smiled and Pulled a Pokeball into his hand, then he approached the sounds. Which led him to an area close to a cliff.

He moved quietly and hid himself in the grass, when he looked out he saw 3 Pokemon fighting. A Growlithe and Vulpix vs a Mankey. Ash's smile only grew more since that was exactly what he was looking for.

He pulled out his dex with his other hand and took the scans of everything

"Not bad at all, well then let's have some fun," Ash mumbled as he went back into the Bush.

The 3 Pokemon seemed to be fighting with each other and the two fire Pokemon were especially mad at Mankey, which made Ash wonder what happened.

{Five minutes ago}

Growlithe was sitting alone and seemed to be waiting for something, when suddenly the bushes started shaking, making Growlithe take a step back in fear.

The shaking continued until Vulpix popped out with a makeshift basket holding fruits in his mouth, [I'm Back, I got a good amount this time.]

Growlithe went from scared to happy and started wagging her tail, [You're back! What took you so long I started getting worried.]

[It's fine I just had to sneak by some humans I stole this from.] Vulpix said putting the basket down in front of his friend.

Growlithe's tail stopped wagging and her ears fell, [Do we really need to keep stealing food from humans.]

[Those humans, they won't even miss it, besides what have they done for us, not after that, we only have each other so what other choice do we have]

Growlithe put her head down, [I guess you have a point, but part of me still feels bad about it.]

Vulpix walked up and put his paw on Growlithe's head, [And that's why you're better than me, and why you need to eat, now come on things can only get better for us.]

Growlithe nodded and then they both heard something, [Well if you feel bad, how about doing a good deed and sharing.]

When they looked down at the basket a blur moved across and their fruits were gone.

From the side stood a Mankey holding the fruit and tossing one of the apples in his hand, [If you're uncomfortable with the idea I'm more than happy to sacrifice myself.]

[Hey give those back!] Vulpix growled at the Mankey, with Growlithe standing not far behind.

[No.] Mankey said as he started running.

[Come on, we can't let him get away] Vulpix yelled at his friend as he started giving chase.

Growlithe nearly stumbled on her legs but got up, [O-ok, I'm behind you]

The chase led on for a few minutes with Mankey jumping through the trees and the fire types chasing him from below.

Eventually, Mankey got led to an area that didn't have any trees, so he jumped off and started running on foot as the fire types started gaining ground.

Mankey kept running trying to find a way to get away, and in the distance he saw a different set of trees, so without thinking about it much he started running as fast as he could.

As the distinct became smaller and smaller, the sight of the forest looked closer, until Mankey finally realized something, in between him and those trees, was a Cliff.

Mankey immediately stopped his legs and started Digging his feet into the dirt to try to stop his momentum.

Thankfully he managed to stop, but that didn't stop the Vulpix that was running after him from bumping into him and making both of them slide closer to the edge. Mankey got pushed over the edge but Vulpix bit his tail so he wouldn't fall.

Vulpix managed to pull Mankey in and Mankey managed to keep everything he had in his hands, making both of them sigh in relief, until Growlithe came sliding and bumped into them, making them all fall into a pile and making Mankey drop the fruits.

The three looked over the ledge and saw the Fruits fall into the forest and get taken by any straggling Pokemon. Which made all three of the Pokemon sigh in disappointment.

They all got up, and firstly moved away from the ledge, the Vulpix and Mankey looked at each other with anger in their eyes.

[Great, now none of us can have the food!] Mankey yelled at the Firefox.

[That was our food!] Vulpix yelled back in anger

[No duh, that's why I stole it!]

[U-um do we really need to be fighting, can we get mo-]

[Quiet x2] the two said in unison.

[Hey don't tell my friend to be quiet, you shut up this is your fault] Vulpix yelled back at Mankey.

[So what I need is, to achieve my dream!]

[Oh-ho-ho this odda be good and what is that to become a Glutton that doesn't have to work for anything.] Vulpix said mockingly.

[No for your information, I will become the strongest Mankey-line in the world! So I need a lot of food to grow strong!] Mankey yelled back standing over Vulpix, which was not by much since he was only about 3 inches taller.

[Oh yeah you're about two berries short of a Fruit salad, how are you going to get strong, you probably couldn't beat one of us.]

[Oh yeah, you wanna go, I'll take both of you on, right now.]

[You would choose to fight two weak and hungry opponents, but you'll still lose even with that.]

Growlithe slowly moved into the center of the argument, [Do I have a say in this]

[No x2]

[(T^T) Ok..]

Then the three Pokemon got in position to start fighting when suddenly a Poliwrath jumped out from behind the fire types and with both hands grabbed the back of their heads and slammed them into the ground, immediately knocking the both of them down.

Then from behind a human walked out with his hands behind him, he looked at the unconscious Fire types from before and tossed two Pokeballs from behind him, immediately catching both of them.

Then he looked at Mankey.

Mankey was still a bit shocked but took a breath and stood his ground, [So what, you got them from a surprise attack, I'm stronger and know you're here so take this.]

Mankey then leaped forward and had his arms held up high, aiming for the human.

He didn't move, instead he just put his fist up, he didn't wind it up he just put it up like he wanted a fist bump, and he got one….with Mankey's face.

Mankey slammed face-first into his fist making him fall down and fade in and out of consciousness, the last thing he saw was the human looking down at him and tossing another Pokeball.

{Back to Ash}

'Well that was weird,' Ash thought as he picked up the three Pokeballs, and that pretty much wrapped up all the Pokemon he would catch in Kanto, mainly he got so many extra ones because there weren't that many Pokemon he liked from Johto, so he stocked up.

Speaking of which he sent Growlithe and Vulpix to Oak since he had Charizard, and that was just better at the moment, also they wouldn't help with the upcoming gyms so there's not much of a point.

As for Mankey, he tossed him back out, but he was still unconscious which confused Ash since he didn't even hit it that hard.

So he just picked him up and put the Monkey under his arm, which wasn't hard since it was only 1 foot tall. It was a bit smaller than the average, so it just looked like Ash was holding a Plushie.

But that didn't matter so he started walking back to camp.

Misty and Yellow were sitting with each other, Yellow had Ratty sleeping on her legs as she was drawing in her notebook the scene of Pikachu sleeping on Charizard, Misty on the other hand had a stopwatch and was looking at it intensely.

Yellow looked over at her friend, "What are you-" but was cut off when Misty put a finger up to her mouth.

"Shh give me a second,"

About 5 seconds went by, "4..3..2..1- ha he's late, we finally got him!" Misty celebrated as the timer went off.

"I'm almost scared to ask but what happened?" Yellow asked.

"Well, Ash said he would be back in 5-7 minutes right."

"Yeah… I don't see how this connects to anything."

"It's obvious, he's late, we finally got him, Hahah" Misty laughed in celebration as she fell back.

Then she saw Ash leaning down and staring at her with a smile and his hands behind his back, "I'm late for what exactly?"

Misty almost fell but stayed herself before she did, "How long have you been there?"

"When you put your finger on Yellow's mouth, and I have to say calm down Misty you need to learn to keep it in your pants, Yellow is cute I know but we are running a safe work environment here," Ash said, shaking his head.

And that made both girls blush in embarrassment for different reasons, so Ash left them to process what happened as he walked away before stopping, "Oh also Yellow nice drawing, You're getting better, but Charizard's horns are bigger."

Then he walked over to grab a seat next to Brock who was cooking. Brock gave him a nod before having to do a double-take when he saw the Monkey in his hands.

Brock raised his finger before putting it down, then raised it again to ask, "Do I even want to Ask."

"I found a Monkey, punched it, and I'm keeping him," Ash said holding the Monkey like a ventriloquist doll.

Brock looked like he wanted to say something but just gave up and went back to cooking, "Alright I'll prepare one more,"

"Thanks my dude, you're the best," Ash said before walking over to his Pokemon and lying down next to them.

{Meanwhile}

Bulbasaur was standing on a rock, enjoying the sunlight while it was still out.

[It's almost over, which means I need to act soon, but for now, I need as much sunlight as I can get.]
