Pokemon Plus

Typical transfer to another world (pokemon world) with a system. Happens after Ash/Gary era, 30+ years after. Does not follow the original story. Has a different take in the pokemon metaverse. He doesn't have a goal in mind, just trying to enjoy the pokemon world. Maybe later in the series. This is my first time writing something so I apologize if it's a bit confusing, English isn't my first language so, I may have a lot of wrong spellings, grammar issues, and something wrong with my tenses or POV. Disclaimer I don't own Pokemon

Chapter 36

A week had passed and team Checkmate swept through the class competition which was held for three days. "Congratulations Team Checkmate! You will now have two days to rest and prepare for the freshmen tournament. I have no doubt about your abilities but do not underestimate your opponent's just because you won easily," Alexa said. The entire class was silently frustrated in hearing the "won easily part".

Damn. Nice going Alexa way to go and poke the Beedrill's nest, Leon thought while seeing the looks of his defeated classmates.

Leon didn't even let his pokemon join the team clashes, he just let them jungle and score when no one was paying attention.

Woody and Mark's pokemon decimated the rest of the opposing team's pokemon. It was to be expected. Woody was a son of a wealthy merchant group while Mark was a scion of a powerful family, both had wealth and resources that eclipsed their peers so their pokemon was leagues above their classmates.

The rest of their classmates could only do nothing but sigh. They had to vent their anger at someone, so they all channeled their frustrations at Leon. The fact that Leon didn't actively help in team clashes made it worse and they thought that he was just being carried by both of them. They all gave him the look of disdain. Leon could tell how they felt since he had aura but he did not care, he was used to this even in his past life. When Mark and Woody couldn't bear there ridicule of Leon anymore, they were about to give them a piece of their mind when suddenly Leon stopped them.

"Don't bother. We only have two days to prepare for the batch tournament. Although we won easily against our classmates, the other class representatives should not be underestimated,'" Leon said. "I have already mapped the entire battlefield so we should practice our tactics for the upcoming matches." Leon added. He wasn't only mindlessly scoring but he was also inspecting the entire battlefield. Leon found out that the battlefield remained exactly the same in every match, so he mapped all the blind spots and terrain to increase their chances of winning. He also wanted to get a pseudo-legendary so he did his best.

In the end, the three didn't bother anymore and left to prepare for the freshmen tournament.

The day has finally arrived. They had gone through a couple of strategies and had practiced them in the two days they were given.

The tournament had twelve classes, so the first day had six fights and six teams would be eliminated while the rest would move on to the next round. The next day, six teams would battle it out and the three winning teams would fight to determine the champion the following day. Two teams would be randomly picked to fight and whoever wins would fight the third team for the championship and the team that loses would fight the other team for 2nd place and 3rd place, respectively.

Doss Galvan was present and would oversee the tournament. "Alright, first up from class Sapphire-Team Checkmate VS Class Ruby-Team Infernal Groudon!" The principal announced. The match-ups were randomly generated.

"Alright boys, it's show time! Shut those fools up Leon and show them how it's done," Woody grinned. Mark and Leon was raring to go.
