18 Chapter 18
The time had come, I woke up and without any further delay I opened up my status seeing,
DRAW CHANCES: 10
"Ah shit yeah, lets go!" jumping out of bed hearing a, "Char!" with Cinder getting startled awake. I originally thought I would have had to wait around 10 weeks until I could do another bundle draw, but the addition of achievements and my level up meant that the time got sped up quite a bit. It had been 6 weeks in this world and seeing how I had progressed so far, with the challenges we came across and the successes as well, in our training and the encounters we had had, I knew I was ready to welcome a new member to the team.
Now that it was time, any thought about the ominous warning were forgotten and I just couldn't wait to see the new Pokémon. Looking down at Cinder, I asked him, "hey Cinder, you ready to see our new partner? Its time to get a new team mate, you excited?"
"Char, Charmander char char Charmander",
"Yeah, I hope so too, let's get this show on the road then." Not waiting any further, I selected the bundle draw and waiting with baited breath for the results.
*ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, DING!
That final ding was music to my ears, not to say the other ones weren't, just that the meaning behind them was completely different. Looking at the results I got confused, the Pokémon's name was distorted and weird.

Getting worried about the situation and the deal with the odd word, I could vaguely make out some form of name under neath all the distortion. Maybe this is an error in the system, I can't remember the last time I saw something like....."HEHEHEHE".
Freezing, I hear a chilling laugh echo through the apartment, feeling tingles up my spine and that someone or something is watching us. Looking around I can't spot anything that would give me that feeling, I see Cinder is feeling the same as he is looking around trying to spot whatever it is, that's giving him this feeling.
"C..C..Char..cha..char…Charmander." Hearing his voice shake in fear.
"I know buddy, I don't know what it is but stay close." I move to his reassuringly. We stay close together and make sure we stay in the fully lit areas of the apartment, we have zero intention of getting close to any shadows, who knows what is in there. As we move around the building I can hear a strange 'whooshing' noise, always coming from the direction we're not looking at.
Getting concerned that it was getting on my nerves, and keeping us in a constant state of fear without change, always using just the right moment to keep us on our toes and not know what was going to happen next, it almost felt like we were under the influence of something, this went on for the next 30 minutes and I was getting over it. I was sick and tired of being at this things mercy, letting them dictate what the rules of the game was.
"Hey I've had enough of your shit; whoever you are you've taken it too far. Come out now or I'll burn this place down to find you (granted I might not have been in the best state of mind at this point). I may not know what you are, but I know your low levelled and its gonna hurt you much more than us with our level difference."
Hearing the stillness and silence go on I start worrying that maybe I made the situation worse, I look at Cinder and was on the verge of telling him to fire when I noticed out of the corner of my eye a shape rise from the floor. Not wanting to look away in case it disappeared again I witnessed as a what I now knew as Gastly come into being in front of me. It looked at me with a big grin chuckling "Gas gas gastly gas".
"So it was you then, how come your name went all weird in the system? I couldn't read what it was saying." Getting a confused look in return, "ah sorry I forgot you probably don't know anything about that.
Anyway it is nice to finally meet you Gastly, apart from the initial experience and what you put us through I'm pretty confident that your already quite proficient with your moves after that show. Let's have a look at what you have going on then,

"Well this is pretty good mate, you have a good range of skills that should do you well in any encounter we have", thinking about how we could put it into use with differing situations I can feel the excitement build thinking of the options.
After getting lost in my thought I see him looking at me with confusion in his eyes again.
"Ah sorry Gastly, I suppose I need to give you a bit of a run down." Getting a nod in response. "Well Cinder here and I have the goal of trying to create a new Pokémon world, basically your species as well as Cinder's originally come from another world with many different types of Pokémon and regions.
According to some of the sources of information, there are over 1000 different Pokémon and with more waiting to be discovered it goes to show just how big that world is. It's very different to this one where the main inhabitants are humans and there aren't as many animals in comparison to the number ofPokémon in the other world. All of the animals are normal and don't have any special powers, this also means that the energy levels in this world are much lower which I believe also translates to the weakness of the human body.
We will need to train so we don't hurt anyone more than is necessary, it's taken Cinder and I a few weeks to get his moves under control, as the initial usage meant that it would have killed someone and I'm more than happy to work with you for the same reason.
I grew up surrounded by Pokémon and it became my life and now being here where no one knows what they are or their potential, it saddens me. I want to show this world the wonders of Pokémon and create an all new world where we can live together and make it a better place, cause I'll tell you now, there is some shit on the way and we need to be prepared if we want to not only survive but thrive.
