It was a day like any other as Eli woke up with his Pokémon and left the Poké Centre, making his way to Viridian Forest as his Pokémon started facing minimal challenges in Route 1. To get stronger quickly, he needed to be a risk-taker. As they made their way through Route 2, nothing too interesting happened—only a couple of trainer battles that his team easily won.

As they entered Viridian Forest, Eli remained on high alert. Half the reason for the trainer profession being so dangerous was that the world had been barely explored, hence the creation of the Alliance for the human race to find safety with one another. While the Alliance had made some progress, there were still many horrors unaccounted for in the world.

As they made their way deeper into the forest, they saw a plethora of wild Pokémon, but none were too strong. They had gone very deep into the forest before he found a pair of Scyther, quite a rare Pokémon. He scanned them out of habit to check if they were worth having on the team or not.

Pokémon: Scyther

Lvl: 22

Type: Bug Flying

Ability: Swarm

Gender: Female

Potential: Silver

Moves: Aerial Ace, Fury Cutter, Quick Attack, Slash

(Innate Talent) X-Scissor [E] (Innate Talent) Focus Energy [E]

Pokémon: Scyther

Lvl: 23

Type: Bug Flying

Ability: Technician

Gender: Male

Potential: Deep Silver

Moves: Aerial Ace, Fury Cutter, Quick Attack, Slash, Swords Dance [E]

(Innate Talent) X-Scissor [E] (Innate Talent) Focus Energy [E]

The two Pokémon were definitely strong. Especially the one with Swords Dance on the expert rank: "Ok, Corvisquire, use Taunt on the male Scyther followed by Tailwind, Kubfu, use Bulk Up, and rush the female Scyther with Aerial Ace followed by Brick Break." His Pokémon nodded as they quickly got off their moves. Eli needed to shut down the Male Scyther first since it had Swords Dance on expert rank. While Kubfu got buffed up and got a speed boost from tailwind, the Male Scyther, realizing what had happened, rushed the two Pokémon while preparing X-Scissor.

"Corvisquire intercept with Drill Peck; try to hold on until Kubfu makes his way back to you." Corvisquire's beak glowed as his beak met Scyther's scythes. Meanwhile, Kubfu got a clean hit in on the Female Scyther with Aerial Ace before striking her down with Brick Break, taking her out of commission. "Join back up. Kubfu, use Ice Punch on the Scyther's wings. Corvisquire, use Protect to block whatever he throws at you." As Eli was repeatedly giving commands, he threw a pokéball at the knocked-out female Scyther, catching her. As the male Scyther threw himself upon Corvisquire with an X-Scissor, Corvisquire conjured a green shield, which blocked the attack, while Kubfu arrived from behind and Ice Punched the Scyther's wings, greatly reducing its mobility.

It was only a matter of time before Scyther fell victim to the duo's constant assault. After the fight, he caught the Mantis, who planned to sell him later. "That was a good warm-up for the morning. Let's find a safe area to train; as usual, of course we'll branch out after the tournament." As they made their way a bit deeper into the forest, they found a small clearing big enough to train in. "Ok, let's get to it, then wear your weighted vest, Kubfu, Corvisquire train, and Tailwind only till you get to Expert rank. Be aware of our surroundings too; this area is more dangerous than the one we were in before."

The avian nodded as he made his way to train while being mindful of the surroundings, while Eli and Kubfu trained. The day seemed to be like any other. Eli and his Pokémon had grown a lot since the first day, and he believed they should start the gym challenge after the Viridian Tournament. Even though he was a transmigrator, he also dreamt of winning the Indigo Conference. As he made plans for what to do after the tournament, the day seemed to pass by.

{Unknown Location}

Ralts had a great life living in a group with his friend; he had a big sister, Gardevoir; he had a lot of friends and fun; he couldn't ask for anything more. They lived in one of the deeper areas of Viridian Forest but were mostly pacifist. That didn't stop other Pokémon from starting scuffles here and there, but today all hell seemed to break loose. One moment, he and his friends were enjoying the day with Kirlias, and then the other moment, a hoard of Ekans and Arbok came out of nowhere hunting every last one of the Ralts, and Kirlia was there. The Gardevoir tried to protect them, but even she was outclassed by a huge, menacing Arbok.

As a last resort, she gave her last bit of psychic energy to the last Ralts alive among the massacred ones: "Live, dear brother; you were always a special child. Take the world by storm for me and for all of us." With her final parting words, Gardevoir used her remaining energy to teleport the final Ralts far away from the conflict. As Ralts pleaded for Gardevoir to not leave him alone, he saw her back facing him as she made a last stand against the serpentine.

{Clearing in Viridian Forest}

Corvisquire was training as usual; he almost had Tailwind down on Expert rank, and he felt like it was a moment away from being elevated in rank, but as he was almost done with training, he saw out of the corner of his eye a bright light and something teleported quite near to where he and his trainer were at. On edge, he alerted his trainer as they moved closer to find out what it was.

As Eli reached closer, he heard sobbing. Upon closer inspection, he found a Pokémon that was humanoid with a white body and thin arms and legs that widen towards the feet. There was a wispy extension trailing off the back of its feet, creating the overall impression of a nightgown or oversized dress. Most of its face is covered by handsome blue-coloured hair that resembles a bowl cut with a pair of orange eyes, which are mostly covered by the hair, with two flat, orange horns on top of its head: a large one towards the front and a smaller one at the back.

Eli had just encountered a shiny Ralts. As he got closer, the Ralts looked up at the stranger in front of him. As he approached, the Ralts felt a warm aura coming off of him. 'Friend?' Ralts stuttered as he spoke with telepathy. "Hey Ralts, what happened to you? Why are you sobbing?" Eli spoke in a soft tone so as not to agitate the poor Pokémon further. Ralts again broke down as he communicated to Eli, 'Family, gone. Ralts started sobbing uncontrollably again. Eli went in close to the Ralts, despite his Pokémon protesting, to give him a hug to calm him down. "Shhhhh, it will be alright, Ralts. Calm down; are you hungry? We were just going to have lunch. Do you want to join??" Ralts meekly nodded as Eli hoisted Ralts up and made way back to the mini camp they had set up. As Eli prepared their food, his other two Pokémon looked at the humanoid Pokémon, which didn't help at all with the poor Ralt's anxiousness.

Seeing that, Eli shouted at his Pokémon. "Oi! Don't stare at him like that poor thing is already nervous enough if you have time to train till I prepare food." He scolded his Pokémon, and while he loved them, they could be quite thick-headed at times. Shrugging his Pokémon, got back to training as Eli cooked. "Ok, lunch is ready. Come on." As he set up the table, he sat Ralts down to eat along with his Pokémon.

"Eat up, Ralts; you must be hungry." Eli urged the Ralts, but the Ralts just shook his head as he continued to sulk. Sighing, Eli went to pat Ralt's head when he felt a connection to him as he saw the very same events that transpired just a while ago in a deeper part of Viridian Forest. He saw the brutality with which Ralts had survived, and feeling pity for the Ralts he decided to ask. "Hey Ralts, do you want to become stronger? Strong enough to get revenge on those who attacked you and your family?" Eli asked as Ralts, who also felt their connection moments before, nodded with determination glowing in his eyes.

"Join us then, Ralts; we will train, and when the time is right, we will strike first, strike hard, and show no mercy to the perpetrators." Eli spoke with conviction, and Ralts, also feeling Eli's emotions, nodded as he felt Eli and himself being one and the same. "Ok, welcome to the team, Ralts. Tap this Pokéball real quick." Ralts nodded as he got sucked into the pokéball before coming back out once again. "The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. Ralts eat up, and we will start training to exact our revenge; we'll show them we'll show them all."

Ralts nodded as they quickly finished eating. Eli decided to scan Ralts to see how strong he was.

Pokémon: Ralts [Shiny]

Lvl: 12

Type: Psychic Fairy

Ability: Trace

Gender: Male

Potential: Deep Gold

Moves: Growl, Double Team, Disarming Voice,Confusion, Hypnosis

(Innate Talent) Dazzling Gleam (Innate Talent) Magical Leaf

Seeing Ralt's stats, Eli had one thought 'Monster' He still had two evolutions left, was level 12, and was born with Deep Gold Potential. If Eli played his cards right, he would have a Deep Diamond Potential Gallade in the future, possibly even a Mega Gallade. "Ok, Ralts, you have had a long day today; why not just rest and relax while you watch Corvisquire and Kubfu train?" Eli asked Ralts, to which the humanoid Pokémon nodded as he stayed in Eli's lap, looking at what was going on.

"Ok guys, let us get deeper into the forest to train you guys up after you are at level 24. I think we should focus on training your bodies and moves, lest the League become suspicious of us. While he had done nothing wrong, Eli still didn't want to be under the radar of any power houses just yet. Maybe when he's got the strength to back it up, but not now.

As they made way deeper into the forest, he saw a Raticate that looked strong. As he scanned it, he found out it was level 25 with deep silver potential. He let Kubfu have the fight as he started to set up with Bulk Up before going in to fight head-on with Raticate, whose attacks didn't do as much damage due to the defense boosts, and after fighting a bit, Kubfu won as Eli threw a pokéball at the beaten rodent, catching it. Ralts, who saw the fight, had stars as he had a new admiration for the bear.

As they explored the forest, they found many Pokémon, most notably a group of 3 Beedrills with an average level of 25–27, with the level 27 one being Gold Potential. He let both his Pokémon fight while getting a bit further away with Ralts for safety. With the combination of Tailwind and Drill Pecks with Kubfu's Fire Punches, the Beedrill's stood no chance as they too were added to Eli's selling list.

This dynamic continued on for a while as Kubfu and Corvisquire quickly climbed up in levels. Nothing interesting happened in the time Eli just caught Pokémon with Silver Potential or higher to sell on the market, which Eli noted amusingly that only he could do due to the system; if potential needed to be examined normally, you'd need a machine to do it. While adventuring in the forest, there was one time when an Ursaring almost got to them, but by hiding and not even daring to breathe, the Ursaring didn't find them and left to hunt other prey. While he had confidence in his Pokémon, they weren't strong enough to topple behemoths like Ursaring.

After making it back to his room in the Viridian Poké Centre, he decided to check his two Pokémon's stats.

All in all, a majority of Eli's goals had been met this day, with his Pokémon being at level 24 and Corvisquire getting Tailwind to expert rank, getting both his Pokémon to level 24, and even getting a new team member in ralts. As he went to sleep, he had big plans for the remaining time he had until the tournament, but in the middle of the night, he woke up to the whimpering of Ralts. "Shhh, Ralts, what happened?" Eli asked in concern, to which Ralts shakily replied, 'Nightmare, family, gone.' "Don't worry, Ralts, we will be your new family. It'll be alright." As Eli comforted Ralts, the Pokémon in question slowly fell asleep in Eli's embrace.
