After an unknown amount of time, Eli was woken up again by Nurse Joy. "Mr. Eli, it's time for your discharge." As Eli got off the bed, his whole body aching with pain, he went to the discharge office to do the paperwork before leaving the hospital. After leaving, Eli checked the time, and it was the afternoon. "Might as well challenge the gym," Eli considered as he stretched his aching limbs. While checking his Pokédex, he found one strange thing: 50 million P had been added to his account with a message from Lance, "A little something for your hand in dismantling the Rocket operation." 'Well, I did need some more items to raise Corvisquire's potential,' Eli mused as his avian had absorbed the 10 feathers but was still at gold. He did a quick scan of his whole team.

From battling the rocket hoard all his participating Pokémon had risen by 2 levels, 3 in Kirlia's case. Corvisquire had even gotten Air Slash to expert rank in the heat of the battle. As Eli checked the market for anything he could buy to raise Corvisquire's potential, he found it, 5 feathers of a Champion Rank SS potential Braviary and the steel of a SS rank Champion Level Skarmory. He could use the Braviary feathers to raise Corvisquire's potential to deep gold and use Skarmory's steel when Corvisquire evolves as he does get the steel typing upon evolution it would be very compatible. All in all he spent 60 million of the now total 80 million he had in buying items just for Corvisquire, he also did check for a Top grade Dawn Stone but no luck.

Soon after, he saw a Kadabra teleport in front of him, giving Eli the package before leaving again. 'Convenient,' Eli thought as he gave Corvisquire the 5 feathers; he could absorb all 5 this time, a testament to how strong he had gotten from before. As Eli checked his avian's status, he thought, 'Bingo.'

Pokémon: Corvisquire

Lvl: 33

Type: Flying

Ability: Keen Eye

Gender: Male

Potential: Deep Gold

Moves: Peck, Leer, Power Trip, Hone Claws, Taunt [E], Fury Attack

(Innate Talent) Drill Peck [E] (Innate Talent) Tailwind [E]

(TM) Roost [E], (TM) U-Turn, (TM) Fly, (TM) Protect, (TM) Air Slash [E]

Corvisquire had risen to deep gold potential and was all but guaranteed to get to at least shallow diamond. With that boost of confidence, Eli made his way into the Cerulean Gym. "You are quite late to the gym challenge, aren't you?" He heard a feminine voice as he looked to check who it was. "I'm Misty Water Flower, the gym leader of Cerulean City. Please scan your Pokédex on the podium so I can gauge your strength." Eli followed the normal procedure as Misty evaluated his Pokémon before clapping her hands. "Alright then, let's get started, a 3 on 3 battle between us. Gym trainer, will you please referee our match?" The man in swimming trunks nodded as he took to the stage. "This will be an official 3 on 3 gym battle between Gym Leader Misty and Challenger Eli. No switches are allowed. Challenger, send out your first Pokémon." Eli nodded as he sent out his first Pokémon, his trusty starter.

"Alright then let's try this one from Alola." Misty spoke to herself as she threw out a Great Ball out of which a large, arthropod appeared, it was a Golisopod. Eli debated his first move as he scanned the arthropod.

Pokémon: Golisopod

Lvl: 34

Type: Bug Water

Ability: Emergency Exit

Potential: Gold

Moves: Struggle Bug, Sand Attack, Defense Curl, Spite, Sucker Punch [E]

(Innate Talent) First Impression [E] (Innate Talent) Liquidation [E]

(TM) Poison Jab [E], (TM) Swords Dance [E]

'This will be an annoying fight for Kubfu, how about I do that.' Eli had an idea was he waited for the referee's signal. "Begin!" as soon as the referee was done speaking Eli shouted out "U-Turn" heeding Eli's command Kubfu glowed a light green before slamming against Golisopod before getting returned back into the Poké Ball as Eli immediately sent out Corvisquire, while switching wasn't allowed, switching from pivoting moves were allowed. As his avian stared the arthropod down he looked right back. "Taunt." Eli commanded as Misty commanded her Golisopod to use Swords Dance but by just a second she was late and Corvisquire had gotten the taunt off making it so that the arthropod could only attack.

"Tailwind into Drill Peck." Eli commanded as Misty ratted off orders herself "Sucker Punch." As Corvisquire dive bombed the Golisopod he was hit by a Sucker Punch, with no time to react as he was launched into the air. "Roost then Air Slashes from afar." Eli commanded as Misty got annoyed. "Do you have no honor?" She complained as Corvisquire got to full health as he used Air Slash from afar and with Golisopod being slow as bricks he was whittled down slowly but surely until his ability activated as he retreated back into his Pokéball. "Lanturn go." 'Sh*it' as he saw the angler fish materialize he knew he had to get his avian off the field. While it was just level 33 Corvisquire weren't the most bulky Pokémon. "U-Turn" Eli commanded quickly. "God Damn it not again." Misty cursed as she saw Corvisquire blitz her Lanturn before returning back as Eli sent out Kirlia. "Charge Beam, Lanturn." Misty commanded briskly, annoyed at the challenger, who in turn commanded his psychic telepathically. 'Protect into Light Screen then use Magical Leaf on it.' While Eli wasn't too happy to get magical leaf in the beginning as an innate talent move, he was now thankful for it as it really helped against Brock and Misty. As he saw the Charge beam approach he set up a translucent green barrier to block it, before setting up a purple barrier. After he was done setting up he started throwing out multiple Magical Leaves as soon the Angler Fish while even diving under the water to dodge had to take the full force of the attack, fainting soon after under the pressure.

So far Kirlia had dominated any fight it was in and didn't show any signs of stopping either. "Grrrr, you know what screw this Gyarados go!" As misty threw out an Ultra Ball a huge leviathan like Pokémon sprang up, its ear piercing roar shaking the whole gym. 'It's official, I pissed her off.' Eli thought wryly as he saw the massive leviathan in front of him.

Pokémon: Gyarados

Lvl: 35

Type: Water Flying

Ability: Moxie (Hidden Ability)

Gender: Male

Potential: Deep Gold

Moves: Splash, Tackle, Crunch [E] , Waterfall, Brine, Leer, Twister, Bite

(Innate Talent) Aqua Tail [E] (Innate Talent) Ice Fang [E]

(TM) Earthquake [E]

'That thing is a monster but the bigger they are...' as Eli trailed off telepathically Kirlia competed the sentence, '..the harder they fall.' As Kirlia Teleported onto the Gyarados's blind spot he threw out a Confuse Ray as it madly thrashed around on top of its boundless anger when a Confuse Ray was added even the psychic barriers of the field started straining as Kirlia Calmly looked on before his eyes glowed with an eerie blue fire as the giant serpent started to be lifted up with a blue outline, with grace and precision Kirlia started throwing around the Gyarados who was letting out an ear piercing roar as it took the full force of the psychic even with its great special defense stat.

Misty sighed as she was down to her last Pokémon, with Eli having all 3, even her Golisopod was already at half HP. "Damn it, I forfeit the match. You win, congratulations," Misty grudgingly congratulated Eli. Eli took the badge and the TM for Scald as he quickly left. He was a bit surprised that Kirlia could single-handedly destroy a Gyarados, known for their high special defense, but he chalked it down to Kirlia's potential. He had come to a realization before that Kirlia's psychic energy was more potent in comparison to others of the same species. Not only that, his capacity was also greater, rivaling low-elite psychic Pokémon of lower potential. 'I wasn't wrong in thinking that he was a monster,' Eli thought happily as he left Cerulean to head on to Route 24. He wanted to get some levels on Fuecoco, and the Nugget Bridge would be the perfect chance to train Fuecoco, if not make him evolve.

Eli approached the yellow-colored bridge; he saw five trainers with relatively weak Pokémon standing on the bridge and the Rocket recruiter. 'Gonna have Kirlia deal with that guy before he even notices me,' Eli thought as he sent out Fuecoco to battle the Bug Catcher. The Bug Catcher sent out a Kakuna at level 16. While the four-level difference would be menacing if it were any other Pokémon, it was a Kakuna, so Eli still had confidence in beating it. As the battle began, Eli commanded his crocodilian, "Flamethrower." Heeding his trainer's command, Fuecoco opened his maw, from where a torrent of flames surged, incinerating the Bug type without any resistance. The Bug Catcher silently recalled his Kakuna as he sent out another Pokéball out of which a Venonat appeared, battle-ready.

"Confusion, slam it into the ground," the Bug Catcher ordered his Pokémon as its eyes glowed blue before a blue outline covered Fuecoco. He was lifted off the ground and slammed down. Venonat couldn't maintain the psychic energy for a long time, and Fuecoco, while battered, could still fight. "Slack Off," as Fuecoco started using Slack Off, his injuries visibly healed, out-healing the damage Venonat was doing. The Venonat was exhausted after sending out a barrage of attacks, but Fuecoco looked bored as he prepared a Flamethrower on Eli's command and roasted the second bug too.

Continuing on, he fought a lass who had a female Nidoran and a Pidgey, both meeting the same fate as the Bug Catcher's Pokémon. The youngster was some threat with his Sandshrew, not that it could stop Fuecoco, who by now had risen to level 15, one away from evolution. The battle against the Sandshrew was a hard-fought one, as Sandshrew hit hard with super-effective moves, and he couldn't hit back as hard with Fuecoco's flames, making Eli realize Fuecoco really lacked coverage moves. Finally, after a while of healing and firing back with Flamethrowers, his crocodilian clenched victory, and just after the fight, he started glowing with a white light. Eli hurriedly got out the Charizard scale as Fuecoco absorbed the scale's energy. He glowed even more as the evolution took three whole minutes. After the glow died down, he was the proud new trainer of a Crocalor. He now had a stout, melon-shaped body, primarily red, but his face and chest were white simulating a mask; his hands and feet were black with three digits each. He had yellow rectangular scales covering its back and tail, and a pattern of black and yellow stripes on his chest. His face had a long snout, red square cheeks, a pattern of two red triangles resembling nostrils, and a hook-like upper jaw. When Crocalor opened his mouth to smile in celebration, three pairs of sharp teeth could be seen lining his lower jaw.

"Congratulations, Crocalor," Eli smiled as he congratulated his crocodilian, scanning his status.

Pokémon: Crocalor

Lvl: 16

Type: Fire

Ability: Unaware (Hidden Ability)

Gender: Male

Potential: Deep Gold

Moves: Tackle, Leer, Ember, Round, Bite

(Innate Talent) Flamethrower [E] (Innate Talent) Slack Off [E]

(TM) Protect

He had gotten both his innate talent moves to expert rank; it was about time too. Not only that, he had gotten to Deep Gold potential. 'I need a good way to make more money to get all of my Pokémon to at least shallow diamond.' As Eli continued on, thrashing everyone with his newly evolved Crocalor, by the time he reached the Rocket grunt, he had Kirlia knock him out and erase his memories relating to Eli. Moving onwards, he made his way to Bill's lighthouse. He was sure Bill had heard of him, and if he had to guess, he was probably stuck in a costume right now.

As he entered the lighthouse, his guess was spot on. He saw a giant Kabuto in front of him who was frantically asking for help. Sighing, he helped the poor fellow out before Bill recognized who he was. "Hey, you are that kid who singlehandedly dismantled a rocket operation in Mt. Moon, not bad kiddo. Say, I wanna run some tests on your Kubfu. I will owe you one; not a lot is known about them, except them being in Galar. But from what little inside info I have, I know that while their base forms are debated as being legendary or not, their evolutionary forms are Legendaries. That's all I know, and I want to check him out, if that's okay with you." Eli contemplated answering the request and replied with his own. "How about, in exchange for a Top Grade Dawn Stone?" Eli asked, not expecting a serious answer, but Eli underestimated how rich the creator of the Pokémon Storage system truly was. "Eh? That's it? Okay then, sure, the next time I see one on the market, I'll buy one and send it to you. Now, if you don't mind, can you leave your Kubfu here with me for a few hours? You can train here if you want; I don't mind." Eli nodded as he sent out Kubfu, explaining the situation as the bear nodded and went off with Bill as Eli made his way out to train.

He wanted Corvisquire to train Protect, the same thing for Fuecoco. As such, he had Kirlia launch Psychics and Shadow Balls at them as they used Protect. Protect took way longer to train up than any other TM moves for some reason, but he was sure Corvisquire would get it down soon. They trained for hours on end as finally, Bill called him back and returned Kubfu, thanking Eli. Eli nodded as he left, making his way to Saffron; he had an idea to get a lot of money at a moderate pace. He had 20 million left, but if this worked, he could make a lot out of that small sum of money.

As he left Route 24, moving onwards to Route 5, he let Crocalor have any and all trainer battles he could find, finally getting to the level 20 mark as dusk started to set in. He had arrived in Saffron City, home of the most significant minds in all of Kanto, the Gödelstrides. 'Well, if this does work, I won't ever have to worry about money ever again,' Eli thought as he made his way to the Gödelstride Manor. It was what you would expect, a generic manor that screamed rich. As he waited to get in contact with the Gödelstrides, he put on his Wilbur bon Vide disguise before he was allowed to enter the room. There he met the Gödelstrides; they were both fairly young, Persephone Gödelstride and Jaern Gödelstride as they sat across Wilbur bon Vide. He spoke in a soft voice. "I seek an audience with you brilliant masterminds, the Gödelstrides, to talk about a long-term business model for us. I have a talent, if you may, an instinct as to gauge the talent of any Pokémon and how close they are to getting to the next rank. As you may know, with this power, I may be able to quintuple the initial cost of raising the Pokémon into even more profit. So, with my starting budget of 20 million, why don't we give it a shot? If you must verify, bring some Pokémon in that you have scanned; I promise not to disappoint." As Eli finished, the Gödelstrides looked at Eli appraisingly, having not said a word since their arrival. Finally, Jaern Gödelstride spoke, "If what you said is true, then very well. We will test it, 'Mysterious Hunter' Wilbur bon Vide of the Hunters Guild. Let Walt bring in some Pokémon." They seemed to have done a background check on Eli as they brought in five Pokémon of varying Potential.

"Quite the impressive Gabite, already at the SS-Rank. While this Flaaffy is at S-Rank, it seems to be very far from the SS-Rank. I must say this Mankey is quite close to evolution and rising to S-rank. If given an item during evolution, he is sure to evolve; the same goes for the Scyther who is at what I like to call high A-Rank. Finally, my, oh my, this Dratini still has high S-rank Potential and could even grow to the pinnacle of SS-Rank in time. Have I proven myself worthy, Mr. and Mrs. Gödelstride?" Eli went on appraising Pokémon, lying straight through his teeth like it was second nature to him. After he finished, he saw Jaern and Persephone discuss amongst themselves before giving their verdict, "Hm, come back tomorrow; we will have a batch of Pokémon and items ready for you, Mr. Bon Vide. We hope for a smooth cooperation, and remember if you do try to scam us, you will not even be safe in Giratina's realm." Persephone spoke in a sweet voice that only seemed threatening.

Nodding, Eli left to the Saffron Pokémon Center as night had fallen while pitching the Gödelstrides the business deal. 'I don't think I will have to worry about money once I start this idea. While it would take a chunk of my time, it doesn't have to be a weekly thing; I can probably negotiate something.' Eli thought, never taking off his disguise, paranoid of the Gödelstrides' influence. Entering his room in the Pokémon Center, he went to sleep, ready for tomorrow.
